Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Sword of Dawn

A while later, after there was nothing left to eat or do, Ash calmly returned to his place, ignoring the whispers of the nobles around him.

He was eager to know what the First Prince Barry had given him as a present.

And since he was the First Prince, of course the gift would definitely not be trivial, right?

However, if it was a glass to contain water…Ash was afraid that he would not be able to control himself and immediately smash it, making it shattered into pieces right away.

To be honest, Ash did not need the gift to be too great, expensive, rare or flashy, he just needed it to be an extremely powerful Relic.

That was everything he was looking for.

'Hehe.'

Ash ran straight into his living space, looking around in excitement before focusing all his attention on a rather long gift box that was placed next to his sofa.

Without delay, he approached the thing and tore it open without mercy.

How pitiful for the person who wrapped this gift. Ash could tell that that person had put a lot of effort into wrapping this thing, but too bad, he didn't care.

As each second passed, the layers of wrapping paper on the outside became thinner, and then, when there was no more paper, Ash was able to smile with satisfaction and open the gift.

And he did not regret it at all.

Inside the box was a sword, and just based on its appearance, Ash could already tell that this weapon was not ordinary at all.

The sword had a mysterious appearance with a long, sharp blade and grooves running along it, giving off a sense of death. The hilt was wrapped in sturdy brown leather, ending in a sharp tip like a side weapon.

The handguard was shaped like bat wings or devil claws, exuding a ghostly aura. And in the center was a black sun symbol, completely matching the color of this weapon.

And its name was the Sword of Dawn.

[Congratulations! You have obtained the Sword of Dawn!]

[Dawn is approaching, it will dispel all the cold and dangerous darkness, covering the entire world with warm rays of sunlight as well as spreading invisible rays of hope.]

[Sword of Dawn: Let this sword come into contact with sunlight to charge up its energy. When it has enough energy, the user will be able to perform an extremely powerful attack.]

'Oh my god…' Ash was completely speechless, he really couldn't understand how much Barry loved his younger brother that he was willing to give him such a wonderful Relic.

If his memories were correct, no, it had to be correct, then the Sword of Dawn was one of the Relics that Ash used the most in the game.

And of course, that meant that this Relic was really strong.

Ash looked at the gift box that he had completely destroyed with his own hands, knelt down in front of it, and showed extreme gratitude, as if he was facing a saint.

"Thank you, Barry. I will never forget your kindness. I will remember today's events for the rest of my life."

After finishing his work, he once again looked straight at the Sword of Dawn without being distracted or shaken.

It was as if Ash was completely captivated by it. And that was the truth.

If possible, he wanted to experience this Relic right now, but unfortunately, it was nighttime, with absolutely no sunlight.

And besides, he had to go to Awakened Academy tomorrow.

'Tch. Maybe I'll test this weapon there.'

***

The next morning - 9am to be exact - Ash had already prepared everything, put on a luxurious suit, and was ready to go to Awakened Academy.

As soon as he got downstairs, the first thing that caught his eye was a luxurious, elegant, and splendid carriage, completely matching the style of the Royal Family.

However…there were no soldiers around the carriage, only a few people, and of course they didn't pay any attention to him.

Ash had thought that he would be greeted with a grand farewell, but then he remembered that he was just a hated Prince.

It was already good enough that he had such a wonderful carriage.

"Are you thinking why there aren't any soldiers?" Modric's voice rang out from behind without warning.

"W-What the hell?"

"The reason you don't have any soldiers to escort you isn't because I hate you or anything. It's just that I need to gather all my soldiers to find clues about the Abyssal Organization right now."

"So…please forgive me?"

"Sigh. It's fine, if it's to track down that Organization, I understand."

"Thanks."

Modric quickly took out a piece of paper, silently reading it for a moment before continuing to speak up once more:

"It'll take about 4 hours from here to Awakened Academy, so you might feel quite bored but don't do anything stupid like suddenly jumping off the carriage."

Ash looked at Modric with a puzzled gaze, not understanding why he used such an example.

Did the Third Prince actually do something stupid like that before?

"Yeah, I won't."

"Phew."

Did He just breathe a sigh of relief?

"Let's continue, this carriage will take you to a teleportation gate of Awakened Academy, and all you just need to touch that gate to get there, okay?"

"Alright, clear."

As a player, Ash naturally knew how to get to Awakened Academy.

But in order to avoid being suspected by the Second Prince, he had to pretend that he didn't know anything.

"Is there anything else I need to remember, brother?"

Modric calmly put the paper back into his pocket and looked straight into Ash's eyes with a serious gaze, completely different from before.

He felt quite nervous, which was a normal feeling for everyone in this situation.

"Listen, Ash, no matter what happens, don't punch your classmates. Even though we're Royalty, there are also many nobles with high status there."

"Are you worried about me, brother?" He felt a little touched.

"Huh? Of course not. I'm just worried that you'll hit them so hard that they'll have to be hospitalized. And then I'll have to pay for their medical treatment."

A very capitalist answer, completely extinguishing Ash's emotions that had yet to bloom.

Speechless, he immediately entered the carriage and didn't say another word to Modric.

It was time to go to Awakened Academy and meet more characters from the game False Horizon.

And…

Thinking of this, Ash's face suddenly turned red.

…It was time to meet Furina Faelan again.
