Chapter 24 - Chapter 24- Men from Shadow sect(4)

The next day, when he went to his shed to experiment on more poison. He noticed the rabbit was dead. It had died from mutation, he could tell from the greenish black skin on its body.

"Even with the amount of medicinal Pills it consumed, it still died... Such lethality!"

Grey was astonished. He looked to have been enlightened and began inwardly pondering. 'Was it began of poisonous snake skin I added... or the withered hollow roots, or possible the dead rain leaves...'

'All those are integral ingredients when making medicinal Pills but they had such effects when used otherwise. Interesting!'

He rubbed his temple to release the accumulating tension. "Now I have to get another rabbit... And the medicinal Pills are almost finished. Looks like I won't be able to concoct today." He said with a long sigh but still recorded some ideas and thoughts that were in his head right now.

The next moment, his body swayed and he had already dashed away. His expression still nonchalant but you could see some excitement deep within his eyes.

As he swung from tree to tree and avoided most areas where hidden dangers lurked, he also picked up some herbs and other poisonous things he could use.

By the time he came out of the corroded zone, he was panting albeit slightly and his hand had already reached to his side where the knife was.

The outside world was a thousand times more dangerous than the corroded zones and that being because while mindless Mutated creatures roamed the other, smart and cunning creatures walked these lands.

The air felt warm and sunlight filtered in through the dark clouds and small rays of sunlight touched his skin, making him feel more comfortable.

'I've stayed in the corroded zone for so long that am getting used to the cold, the warmth that the sun brings... I've almost forgotten it.'

His body swayed again and he was washing forward to the scavengers camp. When he reached the entrance, he stopped to take a look. There was some palpitable tension in the air.

He narrowed his eyes and glanced at some black clothed men far away. The men from shadow sect!

He had not forgotten about them... On the contrary he had been feeling uncomfortable ever since that day. There was a nagging feeling he had that he had left some unconcealed danger behind. And now they were here again, it could be no other coincidence. After all he killed one of their members and he doubted they would forget about it.

"Saves me the effort and time of going to look for them." He snarled as a sharp glint in his eye shone. His shadow seemed to have gotten deeper and killing intent could be felt around him, but he suppressed it the next ninute.

He had to go and count how many of them first before rushing into killing. His cautious attitude made him have a very Calm head and he wouldn't rush out. He preferred to be inconspicuous and wait for every one to left their guard down before baring his fangs.

After circling the camp, he had made a rough count of the number of men from shadow sect. The number was more less a little close to thirty.

For such a number to be brought just for a little kid... No that doesn't sound right. There should be something else that brought these men here.

He shook his head and dispelled that growing curiosity. He didn't care about anything else other than getting rid of the danger that hid by his side.

After making sure the men from the other day were also here, did he turn around and leave. But he saw the Captain in front of him. His eyes were red and his gaze was cold.

Grey retreated for a few minutes as his hands lingered to his side where the knife was. Carressing the smooth surface of the handle.

A sharp glint in his eyes and he began emanating killing intent. "Just who I was thinking about, no need for me to come and kill you in your sleep then." Grey's voice was cold and chilling.

"As much as I would love to break every single bone in your body... I need your help." The Captain said with his eyes red.

Grey's silence made him continue. "Because of your little act, the shadow sect has come and want to take over my camp... My daughter and wife have left for Sky mist sect a few days ago and I soon want to leave. But if I do, they'll chase me down and it won't be long before find my wife and daughter too."

"Why do you think I'll help you." Grey's voice was still cold but had a softness to it.

"Because I know you don't like hidden dangers. You killing one of them means you plan to kill all." Captain spoke.

"Why do you want to kill them?" Grey asked.

"Same as you."

He was then silent as he let Grey think about his words. "I'll think about it." He nodded his head at the Captain and made to leave but he didn't turn his back to the Captain only after he had gone a considerable distance.

"How will I find you?" The Captain called out from afar.

"When you hear the sound of chaos." His voice distorted in the silent wind that blew past, making it sound eerie and sinister.

The Captain nodded and he too turned around.
