Morgan's POV
I followed Nurse Joy to the back. I've been here so many times I know how to get to every room. "Oh, hi Chansey!"
"Chansey!" One of the Chanseys greeted as they passed by.
We entered one of the rooms. Artemis is already looking around. Probably wondering what everything might do to her.
"So, sweetie, tell me about your mom," said Nurse Joy to Artemis.
"Oh! She's an Eevee, and she taught me how to fight Lopbunnies for food!" Artemis answered.
"See?!" I snapped. "she's wild!"
Nurse Joy laughs. "Oh, that's not new, really. In fact, we get wild kids all the time! One time, I had a kid who thought he was a Psyduck! He used to throw rocks at people!"
She turns back to Artemis. "Alright, sweetie, let's get you a check-up."
The Pokémon's POV
Meanwhile, outside...
Shinx and Buneary sat in front of Staraptor as he taught a lesson on human evolutions. "And that, children, is why humans never gain new attacks."
Garchomp is just standing there, arms crossed, glaring at the hospital door, while Charizard is watching Eevee pace the parking lot dramatically.
"Why aren't we allowed to go in?" Garchomp growled. "We don't know for sure if this hospital is safe."
"At least someone understands," said Eevee. "We should just STORM the place."
Charizard finally steps in, becoming tired of Eevee's pacing, and he picks her up by the scruff.
"UNHAND ME FIEND!" Eevee demanded.
Nurse Joy's POV
Back inside the hospital...
"Oh, sweetie, do you miss your Eevee mom?" I asked.
"Nope! She's right outside, plotting to storm this building. Also, my name is Artemis, not sweetie," the little girl answered.
I laughed. "Okay, Artemis! Oh, you children have such wild imaginations!"
"Is my...check up done?" Artemis asks.
"Yes, Artemis. And for being such a precious little girl, you can a have a lollipop!"
The Pokémon's POV
Back outside...
"THEY ARE TAKING TOO LONG!" Garchomp roared.
"We have to save them!" Buneary declared. "I'll go in first because I'm the smallest."
Buneary hops up to the doors. But the doors do not open.
"Hmm... Shinx! Come here!"
Shinx padded over to the door. "Strange. So why did it open for Morgan?"
"Maybe the door is enchanted so that only humans can enter," Staraptor suggested.
Buneary yells loudly as she throws a kick at the door. "OPEN YOU FOUL HUMAN MAGIC!"
Shinx growls as he headbutts the door.
Nothing happens.
"Step aside. Let me handle this," Garchomp growled.
Shinx and Buneary stepped aside. Garchomp back up and huffed before charging towards the doors with a roar.
But just as he reached the doors, they opened, and Garchomp crashed into the front desk. Eevee, Staraptor, Buneary and Shinx took this chance to walk through the open doors
Artemis's POV
We get back to the front desk, and there's Garchomp.
Nurse Joy didn't even flinch.
"Garchomp! I told you to stay outside!" Morgan groaned.
"I have saved you," said Garchomp.
I look at Morgan. "He says he saved us."
Morgan looks very confused. "Saved us?"
"Also, what are these... 'clothes' for?" I asked.
Nurse Joy smiled. "They're to keep you warm!"
"Like fur?"
"Well, if you wanna put it that way, of course! It's your own personal fur!"
"Can we go home now?" Timothy complained.
"No!" Morgan snapped. "We need to take her back to her real mother!"
"She's—"
"Migrating." Eevee said, interrupting Buneary.
"Migrating?" I repeated.
"Migrating?" Morgan repeated in disbelief.
Eevee nodded. "Oh, yeah. She does it alot."
I look at Morgan. "Eevee says my mom Migrates a lot."
Timothy sighed. "So she probably travels a lot. We're never gonna find her."
"She must be one of those Pokémon catchers," said Staraptor. "I saw one catch a Piplup in a ball once and when they came back ten years later, the Piplup had fully evolved into Empoleon."
"So you're saying my mom will be migrating for ten years?" I asked.
Staraptor nods, then pauses. "Well, I'm not sure."
"Some Pokémon catchers never return," Eevee said.
Morgan's POV
I glance at Artemis, who is talking to the Pokémon.
"Woah! Seriously?"
Staraptor nods. "Staraptor."
"Eevee Eevoi."
Buneary tapped her foot. "Bun..."
"Did you need anything else, Morgan?" Nurse Joy asks.
I shake my head. "No thanks."
"Buneary!" Buneary shouts with excitement.
Garchomp finally stood up with determination in his eyes. "Garchomp!"
"Can someone please tell me what the Pokémon are talking about?" I asked.
Timothy shrugged. "Don't look at me..."
"They said we should go on a big adventure to find my real mom!" Artemis exclaimed.
Artemis's POV
Timothy groaned, muttering something about never getting home.
"Timothy! This is a good thing!" Morgan says excitedly.
"How is it a good thing?" Timothy asks. "I mean..." (Conversation continues in background.)
"What even is a Road trip anyways?" I ask.
We look at Staraptor. He looks at Charizard. Charizard scrunches his face as if to say, "Don't look at me."
We look at Garchomp. "I think it's something humans say when they're excited to go somewhere."
"Phht. Yeah, right," said Shinx.
"No, really. I heard an Elder say it once, to a group of Adults," said Garchomp.
Mother Eevee shook her head in disbelief. "Wait, wait, wait. So you're telling me you also saw a fully evolved human?!"
"Wait, what do fully evolved humans LOOK like?" Buneary asks.
"They're much taller," Garchomp answers. "Oh, and get this, their head fur is gray!"
Morgan's POV
"We can go home after we take her home," I said. "That or we find her mom."
"Yeah...but what if it takes us forever to find her home...or her mom?" Timothy mumbled.
"Ooh! Ooh! If Timothy fights enough, does he evolve?" Artemis asked out of the blue.
Timothy's head slowly turned towards Artemis. "What?"
Artemis, completely ignoring Timothy, then asked Garchomp "Ooooh! So one day, I'll get really tall and strong, too?!"
I groan, wiping my hands down my face. " No...you'll just grow up like a normal person!"
"Eevee, Eevee Eevee," Eevee said quietly.
Timothy slid out of the seat and stood up with a sigh. "Let's just get this over with."
I nodded. "Alright. We leave for Kanto tomorrow morning."
