Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Tang Hao Refuses to Become Another Qian Xunji

Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect

The retired sect master, Ning Daochen, laughed heartily.

"This Clear Sky Sect is truly down on its luck. First, the old sect master Tang Chen fails to ascend to godhood and becomes trapped in the land of divine trials. Now, the twin prodigies representing the future of their sect end up fighting to the death over a woman. What a pathetic and laughable turn of events."

At this time, within the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, both of the sect's guardian Douluo—Mad Rhino Douluo and Barbaric Bull Douluo—were nearing the end of their lives. Thankfully, Ning Daochen's son, Ning Fengzhi, had proven to be exceptionally capable. He had formed alliances with Soul Douluo Gu Rong and Chen Xin, the successor of the Seven Kill Sword, and brought them into the sect as honored elders. Both of these men were destined to attain the Title Douluo rank, and perhaps even become Super Douluo in the future. When the sect was eventually passed down to Ning Fengzhi, it would surely enter a new, even more glorious era.

As the Clear Sky Sect declined and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect rose, how could Ning Daochen not be pleased? In the future, the title of Number One Sect in the World might very well belong to his sect.

However, when Ning Fengzhi received the news, his brow furrowed deeply. He stepped forward and said,

"Father, this may not be good news for our sect. The only real winner here is Spirit Hall."

"Oh? Explain," Ning Daochen replied.

Ning Fengzhi said,

"During the era when Spirit Hall was ruled by its Twin Pillars, the Clear Sky Sect's Extreme Douluo, Tang Chen, was what kept the balance. He led the Upper Three Sects in unity, advancing and retreating together, forming a force that could rival Spirit Hall. But now, Tang Chen is trapped in the divine trials, and one of the Clear Sky Twins is dead after they turned on each other. Spirit Hall, meanwhile, remains completely untouched. The balance of power in the world is about to shift. The Clear Sky Sect's loss is the loss of all three major sects. And as we fall, Spirit Hall will grow bolder and more oppressive."

At Ning Fengzhi's analysis, everyone who had previously been gloating now wore expressions of concern.

"That is a serious issue," Ning Daochen said, now frowning. He looked at his son—always clever, always insightful even from a young age—and asked,

"Then what do you think we should do?"

Ning Fengzhi smiled slightly and said,

"Father, we should do everything in our power to support the Clear Sky Sect. Help them track down Tang Hao. If necessary, we can mediate between them. As long as the Clear Sky Sect remains stable, and Tang Hao eventually reaches the level of Super Douluo, the Upper Three Sects can remain united. Only then will our own sect be safe."

"Very well. Do as you say."

Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan

"Hahahaha! Serves them right, turning on each other like that!"

Yu Yuanzhen wasn't one for subtlety like Ning Fengzhi.

Among the Upper Three Sects, the two great assault-type sects—Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon and Clear Sky—had always taken turns in the spotlight. But that changed when Tang Chen appeared. He became an Extreme Douluo, created the Haotian Secret Arts, and raised the Clear Sky Sect to unprecedented heights.

After Tang Chen's departure, the Clear Sky Twins—Tang Xiao and Tang Hao—filled the vacuum and continued to lead the sect into prosperity.

In contrast, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan had declined with each generation.

Yu Yuanzhen had once pinned all his hopes on Yu Xiaogang, expecting him to awaken exceptional talent and restore the clan's former glory. But unexpectedly, Xiaogang awakened a martial soul as useless as a pig. If not for the surprising talent of another child born from a concubine, Yu Yuanzhen would have no idea how to secure the clan's future.

Now that their chief rival had suffered a major blow, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan was, of course, pleased.

"Brother, that may be so, but our clan is still lagging behind the Clear Sky Sect," reminded Yu Luomian. "You're only a Rank 93 Title Douluo, but Tang Tian is already at Rank 95. And even if Tang Xiao is crippled, there's still Tang Hao."

Hearing that, Yu Yuanzhen's previously relaxed face tensed again. After a long sigh, he muttered,

"Forget it. Let's just hope Xiaogang and the younger generation can live up to their potential."

Nearby, an elder couldn't help but silently curse: Why even mention that useless waste? He's drained the clan's resources and delayed Yu Yuanzhen's own cultivation. If Yu Yuanzhen hadn't spent years transferring power to him, he would've reached Rank 94 by now and be pushing toward 95.

Where Is Tang Hao Now?

Tang Hao's actions had sent shockwaves across the entire continent. Every major force had been shaken. But where had he gone?

The day he ambushed Tang Xiao and kidnapped Ah Yin, he fled, knowing he could never return to the sect. He took Ah Yin deep into the mountains, where he built a secluded wooden cabin and began living a reclusive life.

Tang Hao sat outside the cabin, gazing in the direction of the Clear Sky Sect. He knew they had placed a bounty on him. His betrayal—crippling his own brother—was now public knowledge.

Though he felt some guilt toward Tang Xiao, he had no regrets.

"Tang Xiao... I could never give Ah Yin to you. When Xiao San becomes a god, I'll ask him to heal your shattered spine."

From within the cabin, Ah Yin's voice rang out, filled with hatred:

"Tang Hao, stop pretending. You despicable beast. You cripple your own brother and steal his wife. Do you really think a single apology can wash away your sins?"

At this moment, Ah Yin was being held captive in the mountain hut. Tang Hao had sealed her spirit power, restricting her freedom, but hadn't otherwise harmed her—because deep down, he still loved her. He couldn't bring himself to do more.

"Ah Yin, why can't you love me?" Tang Hao asked mournfully. "Am I really not even a little better than Tang Xiao?"

"In my eyes, you're not even worth a single hair on his head," Ah Yin replied coldly.

Tang Hao felt a deeper agony tear through his heart. He had been reborn—so why did he return to this moment, to this tragedy? What kind of spell had his brother cast on her to make her so devoted? In their past lives, she had loved him. So why not now?

"Ah Yin, can't you at least try to love me? I'm the one you loved in your past life—and this one too."

"You're a joke," she scoffed. "Even if past lives exist, I'd still never fall for someone like you."

Her words cut deeper than any blade. But Tang Hao still refused to force her. He clung to the hope that she would fall in love with him one day. Unless he had no other choice, he wouldn't go that far.

Because he didn't want to become another Qian Xunji.

With memories from his past life, Tang Hao knew many things others didn't. The scheming and scandals of Spirit Hall had long become the laughingstock of the continent after its downfall.

To keep Bibi Dong in Spirit Hall, Qian Xunji had forced himself on her, leading to the birth of Qian Renxue. But this left Bibi Dong with a lifelong hatred. Even after Qian Xunji's death, that hatred never faded.

The resentment she harbored had become so intense it seemed tangible. Back then, Tang Hao had felt fortunate that he and Ah Yin had been deeply in love—there was no way they would ever end up like Qian Xunji and Bibi Dong.

But fate had other plans. In this new life, Tang Hao wanted Tang San, the divine child with unmatched talent—but he also wanted Ah Yin's love. Their family was supposed to be united, loving, and destined to rule the fate of the Douluo Continent.

He refused to let his beloved Ah Yin come to hate him like Bibi Dong had hated Qian Xunji.
