At the mention of Ms Jennifer's name, Beta Orion waved his hands dismissively in my face. He quickly let go of my hands as he took a few steps backward. But his eyes never left my face as he began prancing around the room.


"Between Jennifer and I, there's only friendship. No love."


'There's no love between you and I too,' I wanted to say to him but I held my tongue, deciding instead to let him do all the talking while I listened, even though that meant giving him the permission to sign away my freedom like it was his to take.
