"Grr," inside the small sandstorm, Devas growls in pain as he covers his body with ancient magic, the continuous crystal spears pushing his body away from Hiyama's position.
In the sky, slowly descending, Evileye gasps for breath, her mana depleted by those two spells, and watches as Devas' body falls back to the ground.
*Crash*
The sound of Devas' body hitting the ground is enough to generate a small shockwave and raise some smoke. As this happens, she can't help but look at Hiyama, who is still casting his summoning spell.
"Hahaha," not far away, the other members of Blue Roses laugh out loud as they walk toward Evileye to greet her, their smiles full of excitement.
"It's not enough! Get out of the way, that wasn't enough to hurt him!" Evileye shouts, waiting somewhat frantically for Hiyama to finish his spell.
"Hmph," not far away, King Sasquatch stands up, his eyes ignoring the girls and once again focusing on Hiyama. After all, Evileye's attack was not enough to cause serious damage to him.
Before he can continue his charge, Hiyama separates his two hands. Devas watches him lower his hands to the ground and smile broadly.
"Come here, Deathbringer Saurfang!!!" A loud noise fills the entire immense hall, which is like a small world, and a brief moment of silence ensues.
Both Hiyama and Devas look at each other, anticipation written on each of their faces. A slight feeling of fear runs through the Sasquatch King's body, an ancient fear he has never felt before.
A moment later, a large portal opens between the two beings. It is an enormous door made of purple light. The portal causes the ground to shake slightly, and a deep aura of death escapes from it.
Devas narrows his eyes suspiciously, his entire body covered in purple electricity waiting for his orders.
"I have returned from hell, hahahaha!" The shrill, distorted laughter of an undead orc sounds like a war drum. A moment later, the iconic Deathbringer Saurfang emerges from the great portal.
Little by little, his figure materializes in front of the portal, a very tall orc, almost the same size as King Sasquatch, covered in black and purple plate armor that exudes an unmatched aura.
His orc face is completely pale, his eyes glowing with the fire of death, and in his right hand he holds a rather shiny axe.
"Grrooaagh!!!" Deathbringer roars like a beast, his roar alone enough to make Devas' hair stand on end. The portal behind the orc slowly disappears, revealing Deathbringer's full figure to everyone present.
Evileye swallows hard, Tia barely blinks, Tina simply watches in utter amazement, Lakyus breathes too fast, and Gagaran feels an almost overwhelming urge to kneel.
His presence is powerful enough to make the Blue Roses tremble; Hiyama's reinforcement spells are not enough to keep their minds calm.
For his part, Hiyama smiles broadly, "Deathbringer, one of the most powerful in hand-to-hand combat, is definitely incredible," he murmurs, his eyes focused on the orc's broad back, his smile almost mocking as his clenched fists show his euphoria.
Devas, meanwhile, says nothing. A moment ago, he felt something terrifying running up his spine, his muscles tensing almost instinctively, his body tense, his mind on edge, and his face solemn.
Before anyone can do or say anything, Deathbringer has already made his first move. "The ground turns red with your blood!!!" the orc charges forward at an overwhelming speed, his movement enough to generate a powerful wind around him.
The orc raises his axe, which glows with the red hue of death, and as Devas watches Deathbringer reach him in less than the blink of an eye, his life flashes before his eyes.
*Crash*
Deathbringer swings his axe down, a loud noise of wind cutting through the air can be heard throughout the room, and in the next moment, Devas' body is struck by the blade of his axe.
*Crash*
The orc's axe easily pierces the steel-body of King Sasquatch, his axe, so sharp it seems impossible, crashes into the ground after splitting the beast's body in two.
*Crash*
Deathbringer's powerful axe hits the ground, creating a pile of cracks around it as a shockwave spreads throughout the room. The shockwave alone is enough to make Blue Roses cling to the ground to avoid being sent flying.
"..."
After a moment, Hiyama's stunned expression changes to a bright smile. He had thought that perhaps he should summon others like Lord Tuetano or the Blood Princes. After all, he had never used a summoning spell before.
But seeing Deathbringer's powerful strength, he couldn't help but grit his teeth with joy. "Hahahaha," his characteristic Japanese novel villain laugh escaped his lips.
"What kind of existence is that?" Lakyus crouched down as she muttered, watching as the orc, after killing Devas, simply walked calmly toward Hiyama.
The energy of death that surrounds Deathbringer is enough to send an unpleasant feeling up Tia's body, and a rather unusual sensation comes to her mind as she cautiously watches the orc.
"Is he going to kill Hiyama?" This question crosses Tia's mind for a moment. Deathbringer seems like someone who could kill anyone without even blinking. "Sir Hiyama..." she murmurs before raising her head slightly toward Hiyama.
However, in full view of everyone, Deathbringer simply kneels on one knee before Hiyama, lowers his axe, and bows his head, as if waiting for orders.
"Hmph, well, Deathbringer's summoning won't last more than half an hour, so we need to move quickly," Hiyama murmurs before giving orders to the orc through thoughts.
To the surprised gaze of the girls, the orc simply walks behind Hiyama.
...
"Sir Hiyama, What does this mean?" Tia asks, her confusion quickly replaced by a smile. In her mind, Hiyama is someone powerful who fought to save them, but besides that, he seems to be a warm-man who can warm her body.
Tia thinks the same as Evileye, but Lakyus and Gagaran simply watch, cautious.
"We're going down now. We need to get to the floor where The Forgotten One is," he says before walking over to the girls and placing a hand on Evileye's head and ruffling her hair.
"Hmph, Now you're trying it with Evileye? You're a..." Tia, not far away, grumbles in annoyance. Tina watches Evileye with narrowed eyes before shaking her head slightly.
At Matt's store.
The man watched with slight curiosity as Ninya moved not far away, his eyes focused on her beautiful, curvy figure, delighted, but his mind is oblivious to all this.
Matt watched with sudden reluctance as Ninya cleaned, using a small cloth to polish a short dagger before moving on to the next one.
"It's definitely impossible," he smiled, unable to say whether he had become insensitive to the company of women, but he simply could not see Ninya in any other way than as an acquaintance or a friend.
The bell Matt had placed on the door to announce when someone entered rang briefly, causing Matt to look up at the new customer.
In fact, it's not a new customer, but a friend he made in a tavern.
"Sir Stronoff," Matt smiles, welcoming the knight in silver armor walking toward the counter.
Gazef walks slowly, his dark circles perhaps too dark for someone his age showing his fatigue, his beard slightly unkempt as his eyes focus on Matt with persuasive analysis.
He had been thinking for a while about what Matt had said to him that night when they met, the seemingly lively small talk over dinner.
----- Beginning of memories -----
"Sir Matt?" Gazef raised his glass to see the delicious wine inside, then looked at Matt on his right, who seemed to be... struggling not to be kissed in public by that girl named Ninya.
"Well, there were men who didn't like to show love in public, and it seemed that Matt was one of them," Gazef smiled.
After a moment, Ninya fell asleep, resting her head on Matt's shoulder. The man who had caught his attention turned to look at him, and Gazef smiled again.
"Long night?" Gazef's question was more of a courtesy than an actual question, to which Matt simply waved his hand in a "never mind" gesture.
Then, the warrior Gazef took a breath before sighing slightly. He didn't know why, but being around Matt somehow made him feel relaxed.
"It's nice to have someone who loves you so much, who is with you, who plays with you, someone to hug at night..." Gazef said as he drank another sip of wine.
Matt's response was a serious face, a frown, and a moment of thought. Is it really like the warrior says? Matt thought. He doesn't think the same as the warrior.
