Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Krash

EVAARAH:

Dua was standing outside the waiting room. She didn't come inside maybe because of the fight between her and agastya, but she is not afraid of fighting in general. I think she is in a bad mood. "I come back in a while." I said to agastya and he responded positively. I came out of the waiting area and asked her "where were you? I was worried for her but her woeful face made me more concerned. "Why are you so sad?"

DUA:

"Come with me." I was too disheartened to share my pain with words, so I led her to a certain room.

EVAARAH:

Why did she bring me here? Is her family member admitted? Oh my god that's why she is so sad. "Who is admitted?" I asked her with a worried look. Her family treated me like their own daughter, so, if anything happens to them I don't know how I will feel, maybe sad, agonized, disheartened, I don't know. She didn't say a word, but her eyes directed towards the door. I followed her gaze and shit it's krishiv. I didn't understand what to say. "What is he doing there?" Till the time I understood what I was asking, the words had already slipped out. Her face twisted into a skeptical frown, one eyebrow arched sharply. "I meant to say how this happened?"

DUA:

Is the situation serious? yes

Does she hate krishiv? almost

Is she understanding the seriousness of the situation? definitely not

"Let me wipe that smirk off your face first, then I will tell you what happened."

EVAARAH:

"Whoa, bro, chill! I was just trying to lighten the mood. What happened?"

DUA:

"He got into an accident," I replied, my voice heavy with sadness. We weren't together anymore, but seeing him injured sent a sharp ache through my entire body.

EVAARAH:

"Oh," I murmured, unsure how to react. She cared for him deeply, but what if he hurt her again? I pushed my concern for her aside and focused on the moment. "How did you hear about his accident?"

DUA:

"Iwas wandering the hospital's sterile halls when I spotted Krishiv's mother nearby. I assumed she was here to visit a relative, but my gut told me otherwise. I followed her quietly to a patient's room, and when she slipped inside, I peeked through the door..." I didn't want this ache, just from seeing him like this. We hadn't spoken in a year, yet the pain still tore through me. I was furious with him for what he'd done, but seeing him in that hospital bed swept away my anger, leaving only heartbreak and concern.

EVAARAH:

Krash got into a crash—ironic, isn't it? I never thought the nickname I gave him would fit so perfectly. The thought drew a playful smirk to my lips, but I stifled it before Dua could notice. "Let's go see him," I said gently. "He'll be happy to see you."

DUA:

I didn't have the courage to face Krishiv. My stomach twisted at the thought of talking to him—how would I react? How would he? Should I step into his room or stay out here? I trusted Eva, and she thought I should see him. Maybe it was time to stop overthinking and follow her lead. I took a deep breath and stepped into Krishiv's room, my heart pounding. His leg was encased in a heavy cast, with faint bruises mottling his hands and face. I sank into the chair beside his bed, my chest tight with unspoken feelings, but Eva stood quietly by the door.

EVAARAH:

The tension in the room mingled with the monitor's steady beep. Dua's concerned expression and Krishiv's pale, bruised face spoke volumes of unspoken pain. Though I'd never liked him, my gut told me he was hiding something they needed to resolve. I knew the reason for their breakup and the year of silence, but now felt like their last chance to clear the air—chances to meet again were slim. They need to talk, I thought, watching Dua's trembling hands. "I'll let you two have your moment," I said with a grin. "It's a hospital, so keep it chill, okay?" I winked at Dua and slipped out, leaving them to it.

DUA:

She's unbelievable, always easing the tension with that playful spark. Krishiv managed a faint grin at Eva's antics, and my heart fluttered. I tried to start a conversation, but words escaped me. "How are you feeling?" I finally asked, my voice trembling with hesitation.

KRISHIV:

I let out a shaky sigh. This was it, Krishiv—my last chance, no other choice. "Fine. I mean, I feel a hundred times better seeing you," I stammered, my cheeks burning. Oh God, why was I stumbling over my words? Come on, Krishiv, you can do this. "I need a chance," I blurted, squeezing my eyes shut, my heart racing. Saying it in person felt so much harder than typing it in a chat.

DUA:

My mouth parted in shock, my mind reeling. I knew we'd have to face our past someday, but so soon? "This isn't the right time, Krishiv," I said softly, my voice unsteady. "We'll talk later." His hand brushed mine, sending a shiver down my spine, stirring feelings I wasn't ready to face.

KRISHIV:

"I don't know about the right time, Dua, but this is our moment," I said, my voice unsteady. "We need to clear up our misunderstandings. It's up to you to forgive me, but I have to explain my side of the story. I was young, too immature to make the right choices. Even if you don't forgive me, at least I'll know I tried." My eyes dropped, the monitor's hum filling the silence. Dua fell silent, her eyes unreadable. Her lips parted briefly, then closed into a tight line, holding back words I ached to hear. The monitor's soft beep marked the tense pause.
