Chapter 26 - Chapter 2146: Direct Dialogue

What is destined to come will eventually arrive.

When that moment finally came, Yun Che's heart was surprisingly calm. He no longer hesitated, nor was he plagued by fear or wasteful thoughts.

Even if the path ahead is full of peril and uncertainty, there's no need to ask when it ends—just ask what your heart says.

He had already prepared for the worst. So what was there to fear? All that remained was to give it everything he had.

Emperor Yuan raised an isolation barrier and stared at the young man before him—one who had only reached the fourth level of the Divine Lord Realm.

"Aren't you afraid of me?" Mo Su's first words were accompanied by a smile. There was none of the expected imperial majesty—just the demeanor of an ordinary elder.

"There's nothing to be afraid of. You're just… a pitiful person," Yun Che replied with a faint smile.

"Oh?" Mo Su raised an eyebrow, amused. "That's the first time anyone's ever described me that way. Interesting."

"I've inherited the legacy of the Elemental Creation God. Among the memories passed down to me, there were several scenes involving you. So… should I call you Uncle-Master? Or Abyss Emperor?"

Mo Su let out a hearty laugh. "In all these years, no one has ever dared to address me so directly. You really are something special. Nixuan was my elder brother—he always will be, no matter how far I fall into this abyss. If you like, you may call me Uncle-Master."

It sounded as if no one had truly reached Mo Su's heart for countless years. Yet Yun Che, somehow, had.

Didn't Caili also call you Uncle? Yun Che silently grumbled to himself.

"I've been watching your every move since you entered the Fog Sea. You truly are worthy of being chosen by my brother. With a cultivation only at the fourth level of the Divine Lord Realm, you can unleash power equal to the Divine Destroyer Realm's fourth level. I'm truly curious to see how far you'll go."

Mo Su spoke candidly, not bothering to hide his thoughts.

Yun Che knew all this already, but he also understood that the teleportation ring Mo Su had given him could only transmit basic location and battle data—not detailed conversations or thoughts.

"Everything I have, I owe to my master. The power I wield now is a gift from him. He's both my teacher and my father. He saved my life, taught me the path of martial arts, and gave me a second chance at life. As the Elemental Creation God, his legacy must not be tarnished. That's something I'll never allow."

His voice was sincere, and the gratitude he held toward the Heretic God came from deep within.

"Hahaha, well said. I imagine my brother would be pleased to have a successor like you. But… you're not quite like him. You're more restrained, not as wild and free. I wonder—how exactly did you come to inherit his legacy?"

Though Mo Su still smiled, his questions grew sharp, each one more probing than the last.

But Yun Che was already prepared. "When I was ten, I accidentally fell into the deepest part of the Fog Sea. It was a desperate place, completely isolated from the outside world. That's where I met my master. He was already at the end of his life, and it was there that he passed his inheritance to me."

The Original Death Abyss—it was said that not even True Gods could enter that place. Yun Che's explanation, then, could not be easily verified.

"The Original Death Abyss?" Mo Su's expression shifted slightly, but he didn't pursue it. Instead, he asked, "With my brother's cultivation, I suppose surviving there wouldn't be impossible. As his disciple, you must carry one of the Xuantian treasures. Back then, he had the Qiankun Thorn. Xuantian treasures are eternal—they cannot be destroyed."

Yun Che smiled. "Uncle-Master, I do have a Xuantian treasure—but it's not the Qiankun Thorn. It's the Sky Poison Pearl."

That last subtle detail perfectly closed off any remaining suspicion.

Yun Che had anticipated this question. The Mist Emperor had first appeared around the same time he had, and though she later retreated to the Dreamweaver Realm, there was a good chance she had used the Qiankun Thorn to travel. That alone could suggest some lingering connection between Yun Che and the Mist Emperor—an association that couldn't be entirely dismissed.

And since the Qiankun Thorn originally belonged to the Heretic God, it would've made sense for Yun Che to possess it.

But Yun Che's mention of the Sky Poison Pearl left Mo Su stunned.

Back then, the Sky Poison Pearl had been in the hands of the Heaven Smiting Devil Emperor. How had it ended up with the Elemental Creation God?

Yun Che paused deliberately before continuing, "Actually… Master and the Heaven Smiting Devil Emperor fell in love long ago. Even earlier than you and that demon girl. As a token of their love, they exchanged Xuantian treasures. So the one Master left me was the Sky Poison Pearl."

"What?" Mo Su was dumbfounded. The shock this time far surpassed anything before.

The tragedy of Mo Su and Xiao Die—a forbidden love between god and devil—had always seemed like the ultimate transgression. Yet Ni Xuan and Jie Yuan had already committed an even greater taboo before them.

So my elder brother was always like this… so free, so daring…

He once urged me to pursue love fearlessly. I thought he was just humoring me. But now… I see he truly meant it.

Mo Su's heart was in turmoil. He had thought a million years would be enough to bury his emotions. But now, he couldn't stop the tremors within.

When the Sky Poison Pearl had first appeared, he had still harbored doubts. But now… he believed.

After a long silence, Mo Su finally asked, "So… was my brother also killed by Emperor Zhutian?"

Even asking this question seemed painful for him. It was a past he had never wanted to confront—but now, it seemed likely that the Elemental Creation God had met the same fate.

As for the God-Slaying Emperor, Mo'e, Mo Su no longer referred to him as "Father God." Ever since Mo'e used the Ancestral Sword of the Heaven-Slaying Heaven to cast them into the abyss, that bond had been severed.

Yet… even with all his hatred and confusion, Mo Su could not bring himself to fully condemn the man. That's why he still called him the God-Slaying Emperor.

Yun Che said slowly, "The God-Slaying Emperor plotted to lure the Demon-Slaying Heaven Emperor into a private meeting. Then, using the Ancestral Sword, he cast her out of the Primal Chaos. Because of that, my master fought him to the death. But the power of the Ancestral Sword was too great. Master lost… and though the God-Slaying Emperor won, he expended so much life force that he died not long after."

"Mo'e… pitiful, lamentable… and utterly ridiculous!" Mo Su's voice suddenly turned fierce. "He was heartless—without empathy, without warmth! Not even his closest kin, his truest companions… he cast them all aside. How can such a being even be called human?!"

Yun Che stared into Mo Su's eyes and saw the pain, the deep resentment buried within. He could tell—Mo Su was not truly heartless. Perhaps… he was simply too wounded. Too lost.

There was still room… for change.
