Under Ling Yuan's shocked gaze, the bear was sucked into the book—body and soul. The cover snapped shut with a faint metallic click.

Li Shen began to explain to her. The more she heard, the more astonished she became.
"Your Martial Spirit… it's unlike anything I've ever seen. No wonder it's called the Book of Infinity," Ling Yuan said with awe.
Li Shen nodded calmly.
"So, what effect did it have on your Martial Spirit? Did you get the spirit ring?" Ling Yuan asked eagerly.
Li Shen shook his head.
"No, I haven't absorbed my spirit ring yet. I've only formed a bond—a partner, actually—with the Terrorclaw Bear. But I can't call him yet; he's still healing," he replied.
Ling Yuan nodded thoughtfully. "Then when can I see it?"
"My Martial Spirit says he should be healed in about fifteen minutes."
Before he could respond further, she gently took his hand, and together they soared into the sky.
"Alright, then let's return. Since it'll take us half an hour, by the time we get back, I can see what your Martial Spirit has gained—and what you mean by partner," she said as they flew higher.
After a short flight, Ling Yuan brought Li Shen back to the bustling city of Nuoding, to the Spirit Hall branch located there.
They arrived at the Spirit Hall's entrance, where Ma Nuo was anxiously waiting for Li Shen.
As they descended, Ma Nuo hurried over, quickly checking Li Shen over. Only after seeing that he was perfectly fine did Ma Nuo let out a relieved sigh.
"So… it was a trap," Ma Nuo muttered, noticing that Li Shen was still only Level 10.
"Thank you, Your Majesty, for taking care of the enemies that were targeting Li Shen," Ma Nuo said respectfully, misunderstanding the situation. Seeing Li Shen still at Level 10, he assumed it meant Li Shen had not yet absorbed any spirit ring.
"Let's talk inside," Ling Yuan said, not bothering to correct him. She guided both of them toward Ma Nuo's office, making sure the door was shut tight so no one could overhear.
"Okay, call it out," Ling Yuan said.
Li Shen nodded and summoned his Martial Spirit.
When it appeared, Ma Nuo's expression changed. The plain leather cover of the Book was no longer just black—it now brimmed with images of mighty beasts: dragons, phoenixes, and other powerful creatures.
"What's this? Did your Martial Spirit evolve or something?" Ma Nuo asked, curious.
Ling Yuan shook her head. "No, it always had this power. It was just hidden," she explained.
Ma Nuo nodded thoughtfully as Li Shen opened the book. On the first page was the image of a white, golden-furred bear with a faint halo hovering over its head.
It looked completely different from the brown-gold-furred Terrorclaw Bear Li Shen had captured.
Li Shen furrowed his brow and asked his system for confirmation.
[Host, this is a function of the Book of Infinity. It absorbs Spirit Beasts and forces them into a state which matches host level (in this case its cub state) and using their accumulated cultivation to evolve their bloodline or unearth any dormant bloodlines.]

"Huh?" Ling Yuan and Ma Nuo both stared in surprise.
"That's the bear cub you were talking about, Li Shen? But it doesn't look anything like the Darkgold Terrorclaw Bear you mentioned," Ma Nuo said, tilting his head.
The cub lifted its head, its large eyes filled with human-like intelligence—and a hint of contempt. It stretched its paws and calmly walked over to Li Shen.
"You remember your promise, right?" it asked, its voice surprisingly feminine.
Li Shen blinked in surprise. "You're a girl?" he asked.
"What did you think I was, a boy?" the cub said, snorting.
Li Shen looked at the cub in wonder.It seems… the Book of Infinity also unlocks their wisdom.
