109. Chapter 109: Vought Reception, Xia Shang's Unexpected Guest
"Shit, you've been a madman from the start, a madman blinded by revenge. Do you know the difference between you and those extremists? No, there's no difference at all, because neither of you have a brain." Mother's Milk grumbled as he packed his things, preparing to flee Overseas.
"Mother's Milk, that's the most philosophical thing you've said since I've known you."
Frenchie, standing nearby, also gave Billy a cold look. If Billy hadn't brought him Translucent's corpse back then, he wouldn't have been dragged back onto this pirate ship. Thinking about how he'd become a wanted criminal, Frenchie wished he could pull out a gun and shoot Billy dead right there.
"Guys, I have a really good chance of succeeding this time. Even if I can't find out Homelander's weakness, I can threaten Madelyn Stillwell and make her lift the wanted criminal status on us." Billy tried to persuade them, but unfortunately, Mother's Milk and Frenchie were completely disappointed in him.
"Give it up, you think we're still going to believe your nonsense?"
Frenchie took Kimiko and prepared to leave. With Vought's current level of pursuit, let alone kidnapping Madelyn Stillwell, it would be a miracle if they could even sneak out of the country.
"Move it, don't block my way."
Mother's Milk finished packing and got ready to leave with Frenchie.
"Fuck." Billy suppressed his anger, watching them leave.
Just then, several black vans drove from a distance. The vans had no markings, and even the windows were fitted with anti-peeping devices.
The experienced Billy immediately sensed something was wrong with these vans. He quickly covered Hughie's mouth and dragged him behind a nearby Trash Can. "Keep it down, the CIA's secret operations team is here. I've seen these vans before."
"What?" Billy pressed down on Hughie's head, forcing him to lie on the ground. Through the gap in the Trash Can, Hughie looked towards Mother's Milk and the others.
Soon, the three walking ahead also noticed something was off. They pulled down their hat brims and quickened their steps.
Boom!! Suddenly, a black van directly blocked their path. The next second, the rear door of the van was pulled open, and a group of well-equipped SWAT officers in black combat suits poured out. Armed with rifles and wearing steel helmets, they blocked the three.
"Stop." The leader pointed his gun at Mother's Milk. "You three, take off your hats."
Seeing dozens of armed SWAT officers surrounding them, Mother's Milk knew he couldn't escape. He silently took off his hat.
The SWAT Captain at the front scanned their faces through his goggles, confirming they were the targets of the arrest. He immediately shouted, "I order you to drop your weapons, then put your hands on your head and squat down! Move it, move it, move it!!"
Kimiko, standing beside Frenchie, looked up at him, seemingly asking for his opinion.
"Do as they say." With the current situation, their chances of escaping were slim to none, unless Kimiko abandoned them and escaped alone. "Can you escape?"
Frenchie asked softly.
Kimiko shook her head. Facing dozens of dark gun barrels, she wasn't confident she could escape without accidentally injuring Frenchie.
There was nothing they could do, so they dropped their weapons, put their hands on their heads, and squatted on the ground.
"None."
"None." Several SWAT officers came up to them. After a thorough search, they reported to the Captain.
"You're the Supe?" The Captain of this operation looked down at Kimiko. Bang! He pulled the trigger without hesitation. The sudden gunshot instantly made a look of shock flash across Frenchie's face. "Kimiko, Kimiko!"
"Don't be nervous, it's a tranquilizer dart."
The SWAT Captain met Frenchie's furious gaze without changing his expression. He waved his hand, "Put the handcuffs on them, take them all back."
After escorting Frenchie and the others into the van, the SWAT Captain led a group of people and rushed into the Inn where Hughie and Billy had been staying. Half an hour later, they returned.
At this moment, the two hiding behind the Trash Can didn't dare to breathe loudly. It wasn't until they saw the vans gradually drive away that Billy finally let out a sigh of relief. Fortunately, he reacted quickly, otherwise all four of them would have been caught.
"What do we do? How can we rescue them?"
Facing Hughie's question, Billy didn't speak. He couldn't ruin his plan just to save people. His time was precious now; he had to use the limited time to find Madelyn Stillwell.
"You want to abandon them?"
Hughie looked at Billy in disbelief. "Is revenge really that important?"
Billy still didn't speak. He took Hughie to a secluded place and used the screwdriver in his hand to change the license plate on his car.
"Alright, I see you clearly now. You never cared about anyone from beginning to end, you just used us as tools for your revenge." Hughie was extremely disappointed. He no longer held any hope for Billy. Without hesitation, he turned and left the Underground Parking Lot.
He was going to find Starlight, because in his opinion, Starlight was the only Supe with a conscience.
But what he didn't expect was that Starlight flatly refused his request.
......
Meanwhile, the reception hosted by Vought International officially began.
Starlight, surprisingly, changed back into her previously revealing new suit under Madelyn Stillwell's persuasion. She endured the discomfort, fawning over the high-ranking officials from The Pentagon, looking exactly like a high-class escort.
However, what surprised Xia Shang was that the crippled A-Train, leaning on a cane, also came to the reception.
His ridiculous appearance caused many people to laugh heartily.
"Isn't that A-Train? What happened, fell out of bed while sleeping?" A high-ranking official couldn't help but scoff, holding a wine glass.
Homelander, standing on the stairs nearby, saw this scene and his face instantly became extremely ugly.
He called Xia Shang over and questioned him, "You gave him an invitation? Do you know he's embarrassing The Seven?"
To be honest, Homelander really wanted to kill A-Train with a blast of Heat Vision right now.
"No, he probably came on his own," Xia Shang shook his head.
"Then tell him to get lost immediately." Homelander gritted his teeth, not wanting to see A-Train anymore.
"I prepared a special guest for him."
Xia Shang turned sideways and introduced Shockwave behind him to Homelander: "Allow me to introduce Shockwave. He's a Supe whose speed is second only to A-Train. I've already applied to Ms. Madelyn Stillwell. If A-Train can't recover his previous speed after healing, then he'll have to be replaced."
"I have no objection."
Homelander was indeed furious with A-Train. He turned and walked towards Madelyn Stillwell.
