I signaled the umpire to show me the middle stump.
After fiddling for a bit he finally gave the thums up signal.
I than marked the middle stump precisely.
I tapped the bat 3-4 times signaling my readiness to face the ball.
He ran, at full speed.
Than landed the ball on a good length, on middle and off and than...
Missed my Bat by an inch...
But the bowler was celebrating...
It didn't nick? Shouldn't you atleast appeal...

It missed the bat but was in line of the off stump.
Mayb I should have stood at off rather than middle.
That way I could have evaded the Outswing but than I'd have to worry about the inswing hitting the pads and getting lbw.
I have no clue as to how I can evade the swing.
I have a strike rate of 0 against inswing and outswing and an average of 0 and got out almost a 100 times to that outswing and inswing balls.
I've never taken practical Practice for those types of delivaries and have no clue as to how I can evade it.
If I come front foot than it wouldn't really help when the keeper comes close to the wicket.
I'd be vulnerable to that Yorker which would be easier to ball if I were outside my crease.
I... Just can't find a way to evade that damn ball.
If I can just evade those balls. I can somehow make up for it in the next match but...
How... Do... I even do that?
Unless I get some practical lessons, I can never evade inswing and outswing technically.
But, where will I even learn from?
I asked the coach before coming here and he told me to take the middle stump line father than the off stump one.
Which made me vulnerable to the Outswing.
I have no clue where to go with this weakness and if it persists I can kiss my professional carrier good bye.

We lost the previous match and it was the 3rd Match currently.
Getting 320 with this batting line up was kind of impossible from the beginning.
We were batting first.
I came to the crease after The 3 wicket was down at 20th over.
There wasn't much swing so i hope i can get some runs in.
I got out off a golden duck in the last one.
First ball came in, It was hit on short of a length and there was a fielder at mid wicket but there was a gap in between forward short leg and fine leg which was in between deep backward square leg and fine leg.
There was a fielder in between the backward square leg and square leg.
It was a bit of an unorthodox fieldset.
But that gave me a bit of a gap, which if pierced could easily go to a boundary.
and i timed it well, Instead of going over the top i hit it along the ground.
Got a 4.
More than using my power, i tried timing and placing it in the gap.

He bowled it at good length.
This time, the fielder from mid on went back.
forward changed to deep square leg.
while cine leg came back into the circle.
There was a big gap in between forward square and long on.
It was just a matter of Timing the ball over the top of that mid wicket fielder.
But it was a good length ball so, i tried tapping it for a single.

at the last moment it swung in, today i stood at the off stump like to neglect the Outswing.
but that inswing got me.
I was hoping there'd be no swing on offer.
But, there was and that was the diciding factor.
This too ended in a loss...
And we were Almost out of the tournament, especially because of the 2nd team having a greater nrr than us.
There was team 1 that'd won 4 out of 4, no 2 won 2 out of 3, no 3 won 1 out of 3 which was against us and we won 1 out of 3 and the last one won none out of 3.
The 1 team we won against which was miserable the whole game.
It gave huge leads to the other two teams in terms of nrr.
one had an nrr of 2.7 while the other had an nrr of 1.5, while 3 had an nrr of -0.5
we had an nrr of -1.7
There was no way we could get 3 nrr out of just 1 game.
Maybe i should... really give up on this game.
I... just Don't have the talent to play against strong teams.
I flopped twice both times it was against good teams.
I played an innings of 84/82 against the worst bowling line up...
I really should give up. Without proper teaching i can't get past that 1 problem i have.
It's a bloody bad Problem that i can only play on flat tracks. Even a bit of purchase and I'll fail miserably.
I should really start looking for a job now.
I'm sure after the performance i gave today, I'll never be picked again.
They probably know my weakness now. So I'll probably sidelined.
