With the Orion's ice restricting the rest of the family heads, it wasn't more than a second before the rest joined the battle.
Clarence's chain and whip elongated, becoming thousands of kilometres long. As soon as his hands started moving, sonic booms echoed across the galaxy as he forced the world to endure his power.
This was a level of control in a world of its own. His chain and whip could already rip through this world, but they didn't. Not because they couldn't, but because not a single ounce of strength leaked from his intended target.
Alas, no matter how many of his abilities Clarence used, there would always be a block of crystalline ice blocking his chain and whip. Shards of ice flew around the atmosphere, just to be reabsorbed by Orion.
Every effort felt futile, Clarence could instinctively feel it, whenever he expended any energy or effort, it would be turnt against him in an instant, merely being used as fuel to further empower the Orions.
Next to Clarence's chains and whips that slithered through the skies appeared Vermillious and Veronica. They had finally made it across the sky, having flown at their highest speed, blasts of fire and ice blotted the skies of the planet as they put their lives on the line for the first time in thousands of years.
Fortunately for the family heads, none of them would be fighting without support. Back down on the ground was Serena. Thin metaphysical lines extended from her to her friends. The yellow hue of the lines was providing the family heads in the skies with vitality beyond what their body naturally produced.
Even though everyone was giving it all they could in their circumstances, they could not kill a single Orion. All of their attacks were siphoned of their energy and used to fuel the enemy. The versatility of ice made the Orions a formidable opponent in defence and attack.
On the ground were the Lux, Clarence and Serena. The other three families fought in the icy skies. From time to time, Clarence's whip would flick over to above Serena, directly destroying any fragments of ice caused by the battle above. The skies were blotted out in blues, reds, yellows and silvers as the four families and the Orion fought for supremacy.
High up in the skies, Vermillious smashed down his opponent time after time, aiming to crack the armor of frost on his body. After a hundred punches, he stopped and allowed the frostiness in the air to disperse. Just to see the armor completely restored.
"Serena full throttle."
Vermillious' voice rang out in Serena's head, she promptly cancelled her tethers to everyone else, the line leading to Vermillious changing from metaphysical to physical as it solidified. Her hair whipped around in the wind as if each strand had turned into their own entity as they slowly gained streaks of a platinum blonde to match the yellow lines that seemed to have etched themselves onto her skin, lighting her up like a beacon amongst the bleak battlefield and giving her a glow akin to a goddess descending.
A savage grin cracked through Vaermillious's features as he felt overwhelming vitality flow into him, the likes of which he hadn't felt in millions of years.
'Oh you're fucked now.'
He thought as he punched, directly shattered the first armor and tore a hole through his previous opponent as he barraged towards the incoming waves of the invading Orions, shattering into them like a cannonball and quickly engaging in combat with another invader.
'[Everlasting Flame]'
Vermillious's body ignited, melting the ice of Orion all around him and the family heads. Earlier, the intensity of his fire hadn't been enough for the heat to affect the ice, the Orions had been able to transform his Lu into their own too fast.
That wasn't the case now.
The Orion he had been fighting against scattered into a pile of ashes and practically disappeared under the winds created by the battles above.
Just as Vermillious picked out his new victim, a flashing ball of black flew through his heart as Maximus appeared next to the body and sliced his head off.
Vermillious flashed next to Maximus, patting him on his back. "They will handle the rest. We could make it here, but not the kids."
Maximus nodded as he passed a message to everyone using his spiritual sense, "Pass me all of your pods. I'm sending the kids to Julius."
Everyone knew this was the best way to move forward, though the feeling of missing their children still affected them. The 3 family heads each threw a ring to Maximus while blocking against the attacks of their opponents. They couldn't help but think about their children, though it did not last long.
They first had to pave a path forward for them.
Maximus glanced at the fighting figures of Isadora and the rest before vanishing, "I'll be back."
Mary parried an attack from Diego and Estelle as she glanced at where Maximus had been.
Maximus reappeared in front of Valerio and the rest of the heirs, startling them. Everyone was already on high alert, and a figure appearing in front of them had almost caused them to break out into a sprint. Without much time to adjust to the situation, Maximus' orders made it to them.
"We don't have time, hold hands."
Valerio moved towards Aurora, flashing what he thought was a reassuring smile and grabbing her hand. As soon as everyone's hands connected, Maximus tapped Valerio's shoulder, and they disappeared, reappearing above ground.
Maximus walked forward and took out 4 pods from the spatial rings.
"There's no time to explain, you'll be going to one of our closest friends, his name is Julius. He'll take care of you while we aren't there." Maximus turned to Valerio directly, "Son, start cultivating immediately, and use these." He took Valerio's hand and placed a spatial ring into his void ring.
The heirs stared at the four pods in front of them. There were 2 sleek blue pods that were big enough for one person, and another pod big enough for two people. The last pod was a deep azure pod for 1 person.
"All of you into the pods, everything will be fine. Valerio, the blue one is yours."
Aurora lingered but quickly let go of Valerio's hand and stepped forward; the rest of the group followed. Valerio looked at Maximus as he placed Lu Crystals in the other pods and a Void Crystal into his.
Maximus flashed a big smile before snapping his fingers, causing the pods to start levitating.
"We'll come get you guys as soon as you deal with the trash. Don't be so mellow." And with that, Maximus waved his hands, and the pods flew up into the atmosphere.
The g-force practically glued Valeiro to his seat.
Just as the pods were about to exit the atmosphere, an alarming noise sounded inside Valerio's pod. He quickly looked outside his pod to see if the others were experiencing similar situations, and maybe in hopes that his dad would save him.
Yet the only thing that changed was a technological voice resounding around him.
[SPATIAL OBSTRUCTION DETECTED]
[OBSTRUCTION ANALYSIS INCONCLUSIVE]
[ACTIVATING OVERRULE PROTOCOL 7]
[RECALIBRATING DESTINATION…NAVIGATION SYSTEMS DAMAGED]
[ENTERING FRESH BOOT]
[PROTOCOL SAFE SEED ACTIVATING]
Panic set into Valerio, yet it seemed to stall for the slightest second as he heard the name of the protocol.
'Safe Seed?' A weird expression appeared on Valerio's face as his brows furrowed.
He knew he didn't have time to mind it and leaned forward in his seat, glancing outside of his pod again amidst the flashing red lights in his pod.
Fluxara was blurring rapidly, he squinted his eyes as he locked onto the now tiny Augustine Manor.
The last thing he saw was his dad shifting to the void with a level of rage he hadn't seen before, his foot rising to [Void Step] towards him.
Alas, before his dad made it to him, the world around Valerio disappeared, replaced with the view of the infinite void.
That was the last thing Valerio saw before the force from pushing through the spatial obstruction knocked him out.
