TEASER: Act 6, Scene 3 – The Aftershock
"The night Andrew Knight learned to pray."
The storm outside wasn't half as loud as the silence between them.
Sarah sat still—shoulders tense, face turned away, clutching the locket like it was a weapon… or a shield.
Her arm, now bandaged.
Her voice, missing.
Andrew stood at the window.
His cuffs still stained with her blood.
His heart, something worse.
"You're still here?" she asked, barely above a whisper.
A beat.
"You told me to stay," he said.
She didn't look.
"I was dizzy."
A pause.
Then, low, barely audible—
"Liar."
Lightning flashed. Her breath caught. The room was pitch black again.
Suddenly, he was close.
Too close.
"I'm here," he murmured. "Always."
If her heartbeat wasn't already traitorous, it was now.
And then…he said
"I would burn the world down to keep you safe."
But the world didn't give second chances easily.
And someone was about to knock.
