Chapter Sixteen: The Beginning of Despair
The students once again gathered in front of the Imperial Academy, but this time they weren't nervous nor scared because they knew if they let these emotions take over their mind, they were not going to survive the Imperial Academy.
As they once again reached near the Imperial Academy gate, the same instructor stood there, watching them with his calculating eyes.
The atmosphere in front of the academy was filled with tension, all students looking at the instructor with their eyes locked on him.
Then the instructor finally walked towards the stage and started to channel his mana into his throat, with the energy of mana being visible on his throat.
Most of the students who were from commoner families looked at him in confusion, but there were some who did not follow behind the crowd, instead walking ten steps ahead.
The instructor looked at them and spoke in a calm tone, with his voice now reaching all the participants.
"Some of you may know this technique and some may not. This is the Echoing Technique of the Sound—it makes your voice reach wherever you want in your surroundings. But that's not the point. First, I would like to tell you that whoever passed the first trial are good at surviving, but now this trial is even harder—it's a trial of survival. Now allow me to explain."
1. "You will be fighting against the second-year students of the academy—the ones who passed before. So don't try to show them mercy."
2. "Whoever gets eliminated will be kicked out from the academy, whether it's you or the second-years."
3. "You can use poisons and other weapons, but they will have to be made by you."
4. "Try your best to survive."
Upon hearing the instructions from the instructor, the whole crowd fell silent. All of them were shocked to see the academy doing such a cruel trial.
They all knew they could not go easy on anyone because showing such emotions meant losing their future.
As the students were sweating, the gate of the Imperial Academy opened. Among them walked the second-year students of the Imperial Academy. All the second-years looked like they were made for war—their physique was not that muscular, but the energy and stares they were giving to the participants already implanted fear in some students' hearts.
As they walked towards the participants, the dean once again spoke in a calm voice,
"All of you follow me to the arena. Your worth will be decided there."
All the students and participants standing there did not hesitate, because they knew they could not turn back now.
As the students reached the center of the academy, they were met with a giant arena waiting for them. It was almost built like a colosseum, but there was modern work done in the arena.
The instructor reached the stage and once again imbued mana into his throat and spoke,
"The fights will immediately begin. Now, the first fight is between Maxim Greenowel and Lynix Hirnouv."
Both the contenders walked to the arena because, to them, their life was truly dedicated to the result.

It's very good for me! Rate it in the comments if you have knowledge about phones.
Also, in the last 4 days, truthfully, I just could not bring myself to write.
But that chain shattered today.
So yep, now I'm going to upload constantly. Bye!
