WHOOSH!
A gust of wind swept across the streets as Ava's majestic flying ship descended from the skies, the golden runes etched across its hull glowing faintly. With a gentle THUD!, the ship landed right in front of the Jakartha City Adventure Guild.
One by one, Jack and his party disembarked, their boots hitting the ground with light taps. Smiles lit their faces exhausted, yet proud. The battle was over, and they were alive.
But they weren't the only ones.
A sea of adventurers had already gathered outside the guild. The area was buzzing with voices, a chaotic mix of laughter, conversation, and the clatter of armor. There were too many to fit inside, so like many others, Jack's group stayed outside, settling themselves near the open plaza.
The guild had prepared a large ceremonial stage in front of the guild entrance, draped in deep crimson banners with the silver crest of the Guild gleaming under the sun. Clearly, they'd anticipated this moment.
DING!
DING!
DING!
A triple chime rang out from enchanted horns near the stage, an announcement that the ceremony was about to begin.
Suddenly...
THUD!
THUD!
THUD!
The sound of heavy, armored boots echoed from the entrance of the guild.
A tall figure emerged 6.4 feet of unwavering dominance.
Clad in gleaming silver armor that reflected the sunlight like a mirror, his black cape fluttered in the breeze behind him. His jet-black hair waved gently, and his eyebrows were sharp like blades. But it was his eyes half black, half white, glowing like twin stars that pierced into the souls of all present.
He was none other than:
Ronan Asbourne, Guild Master of Adventure Guild in Jakartha City
The crowd quieted as his presence alone demanded silence. He walked with deliberate force each step like a drumbeat of power towards the temporary stage.
Then he stopped, standing tall at the center. His voice rang out, calm but commanding.
"As you already know, I am the Guild Master of Jakartha City's Adventure Guild. My name is Ronan."
His tone wasn't loud, but it resonated. Deep. Steady. Heavy with authority.
"Today is a day of honor... a day for heroes."
He paused, letting the words settle.
"Because of your courage during the Beast Tide, you defended this city, protected your comrades, your homes, your loved ones… And most importantly you emerged victorious!"
BOOM!
A ripple of cheers surged from the crowd, fists raised, cheers shouted, weapons banged against shields.
"As a token of gratitude," Ronan continued, his eyes scanning the crowd, "The Adventure Guild will be giving all of you rank promotions and distributing the beast tide loot you rightfully earned."
A murmur of excitement and anticipation spread like wildfire.
"In total," Ronan stated solemnly, "500 Otherworlder Ascendants stood against the Beast Tide. 100 gave their lives… 300 were seriously wounded… Only 100 of you fought until the final blow… and won."
The energy shifted. The crowd fell silent. Some lowered their heads. Eyes shimmered with unshed tears. The weight of loss pressed into their hearts like a heavy stone.
"To honor the fallen," Ronan declared, "We shall convert 50% of the total beast tide loot into silver and gold, to be given to the families of the deceased."
"The remaining 50% will be shared among all 400 survivors based on merit and contribution."
A few nods. Some clenched their fists in respect.
Then, Ronan's voice grew sharper.
"Now… about Guild Rank Promotions."
The atmosphere tensed.
'The 300 wounded Ascendants, though unconscious at the end, fought bravely. They shall be promoted one rank higher than their current Adventurer Rank."
"And those who stood till the end…"The final hundred…" He raised his arm toward the sky.
"They shall be promoted to…B-Rank Adventurers!!"
BANG!
It was as if lightning struck the crowd. Gasps and shouts erupted.
"WHAT?! B-RANK?!"
"That's insane!"
"I jumped two whole ranks?!"
Jack's heart thudded. B-Rank! He had just arrived in this world and was already being pushed into the elite ranks. He clenched his fists tightly, eyes burning with ambition.
Ronan smiled slightly at the wave of disbelief and joy rolling through the adventurers.
"From now on, your access to high-tier quests, your pay, and your reputation will soar. You've earned it. You've all earned it."
"You may now proceed to the reception counters to collect your rewards and promotion badges. And may your Ascendant journey take you further… higher… stronger."
As the final chime echoed, Guild Master Ronan turned around with solemn grace. His long cape danced behind him as he walked back into the towering guild building, disappearing into its heart the Guild Master's Room.
THUD. THUD. THUD.
Each step he took echoed with pride and power.
-----
But while Guild Master Ronan was started his speech, Jack's gaze sharpened.
His irises glimmered faintly as he secretly activated his Eye of Truth.
A pulse of invisible energy surged from his pupils
WHOOSH!
And the world around him momentarily dulled, as if painted in transparent layers.
Then, within the vast inner plane of his Sea of Knowledge, glowing golden text flickered into view like divine etchings across space itself.
