"Unbreakable Bonds"
Wielding his broken Nichirin Sword, Tanjiro spun through the air, tracing blue water currents. With each rotation, his blade's power increased. This was the 10th form of Water Breathing, taught by Urokodaki Sakonji—Constant Flux.
A roaring water dragon materialized above his sword. Tanjiro struck a thread, severing it cleanly.
"I cut it! I severed a thread! I have a chance to defeat him!"
Tanjiro rejoiced, sensing victory within reach. Another water dragon roared as he shot forward, his sword aimed at Rui's neck.
Rui, acutely observant, noticed the pattern: each rotation amplified the blade's power. Unfazed, he raised his hands.
"You don't think that's my strongest thread?"
His hands were slick with crimson blood, staining his white threads.
"Blood Demon Art Filukinesis: Cutting Thread Cage!"
He unleashed a net of crimson threads above Tanjiro, forcing him to cut through them to survive.
"You're useless. Die."
Rui impassively pulled the threads, tightening the net above Tanjiro, threatening to dismember him.
"No! I can't cut these threads! The spinning isn't enough!"
Despair filled Tanjiro as the net closed in. He couldn't lose, not here, not for Nezuko.
Tanjiro's thoughts: "I'm going to lose. I'm going to die!"
A life review began, as if a kaleidoscope of memories played before his eyes, a common phenomenon before death.
A blinding white light flashed, showing him playing with his siblings as a child. His frail father, Tanjuro Kamado, sat on the steps of their house.
The scene shifted to a snowy night, his mother and father performing the Hinokami Kagura. Tanjiro wondered how his weak father could dance so long in the freezing cold.
Then, he was back in the house, a young child nestled in his dying father's arms, listening to him speak of breathing techniques. Tanjuro explained the unique methods of breathing, emphasizing that controlling one's breath allowed for sustained movement without fatigue. He also stressed the importance of passing down the Hinokami Kagura and their earrings.
"Tanjiro, I believe in you."
The vision faded. Tanjiro's eyes snapped open, white smoke escaping his mouth.
"I have to do it!"
He raised his sword. The blue water dragon transformed into a crimson fire dragon, roaring.
"Hinokami Kagura: Dancing Flash!"
His fiery Nichirin Sword cleaving through the crimson thread net, scattering fragments.
"The threads are cut!" Rui was surprised that his reinforced threads were severed again.
Before he could react, Tanjiro charged, his relentless advance unstoppable.
Rui retreated, desperately trying to create distance, but Tanjiro closed the gap swiftly.
Cold sweat trickled down Rui's face. Panic replaced his composure.
Meanwhile, unconscious Nezuko saw her mother, Kie Kamado, in her mind.
"Nezuko, wake up! Help your brother," Kie Kamado said softly, stroking Nezuko's face.
Nezuko remained unconscious, causing Kie Kamado to panic, knowing Nezuko was crucial for Tanjiro's victory.
"Nezuko, please, wake up! Otherwise, your brother will die!"
Nezuko's eyes flew open, her demonic eyes intense. She extended a burning hand, emitting orange sparks.
"Blood Demon Art: Exploding Blood!"
The blood on the threads ignited, turning them to ash and creating a wall of crimson fire before Rui.
"All the threads are burned!" Rui cried in disbelief.
Tanjiro burst through the flames, his broken sword striking Rui's neck, but not cleanly severing it.
"No one can sever the bond between me and Nezuko!"
The blood on his blade ignited, illuminating the dark forest as his sword sliced through Rui's neck.
A sharp sound echoed as Rui's head fell, his body collapsing.
