Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

A cold, surging wave coursed through him an energy that was so addictive unlike anything he'd felt before.

His muscles tightened, strength flooding his limbs.

That pulse of energy confirmed and assured him of the boar's death.

Then came more

Three boars charged at him with the same signature move and reckless speed.

Tarkan braced himself, holding the horn tighter.

As they closed in, he stabbed the first one in the head, piercing its thick skull and hitting it's brain.

But before he could yank the horn free, the other two slammed into him not giving him any breathing chance to retaliate.

His body flew like a ragdoll, crashing hard into the cave wall.

Reverse Two seconds.

The moment rewound, Time moved back to just before the impact.

Tarkan tried all different strategies he could think of.

He shifted positions, tried different strategies but it didn't matter, The outcome remained the same.

The boars flung him back again and again.

The fourth impact left him gasping for air,

Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.

His vision swam until his eyes landed on the dead body of the first boar he'd killed.

Reverse Three seconds.

Again, time jumped back to the moment before but this time, as the three boars charged towards him, he ran toward the dead one.

Grabbing it by the leg, he hurled it at the oncoming boar's.

The heavy corpse struck two of them, knocking them off balance.

Missing the third one that kept charging at him.

Instead of panicking, Tarkan grinned.

He stepped forward, sidestepped the charging boar, and drove the horn into its head, just like the way he did the first boar.

The momentum helped the weapon pierce through its skull.

Killing it In an Instant.

The same cool wave of power washed over him boosting his strength.

He pulled the horn from the now dead boar's skull not giving it a single glance.

Two remaining boars rose from the earlier chaos, and two more joined in, making four of them.

All of them rushed toward him with that same brainless tactic full-speed ramming.

Tarkan didn't hesitate.

He grabbed the recently slain boar, which oddly felt lighter, and flung it at them using the same tactics he'd used earlier.

But this time It struck only one, knocking it back.

Which left three of them still charging at him.

But Tarkan wasn't bothered by it.

Reverse Two seconds.

He went back in time again.

He repeated the throw, Missed Again.

Reverse.

He tried a slightly different angle. This time, the corpse knocked down three. And left only one charging at him.

The last boar charged at him hoping to ram into him.

Tarkan used the same method he'd refined

sidestep, stab, twist, pull.

The boar dropped instantly, and the addictive now-familiar cold surge of energy rushed through him.

Repeating the process again and again

Which kept working every single time.

He repeated the cycle, Kill, Throw, Reverse, Kill again.

He repeated the process again and again losing sense time.

His mind blurred with movement and blood. Again, Again, Again, Kill, Reverse, Kill, Reverse.

A few hours later.

Crack.

A sickening snap echoed in the cave.

Tarkan stood, breathing heavily, holding a boar by the neck in each of his hands.

He'd crushed them, bare-handed.

Their bones easily snapping in his grip like chickens.

Blood dripped from every part his hair soaked, covering every inch of his body.

His chest rose and fell in deep, uneven breaths.

His hands trembled from the strain and the scene all around him, were piles of dead bodies dozens upon dozens of boars.

Nearly a hundred corpses littered the floor of the cave.

Blood everywhere in the ground, pooled in wide puddles, and painting the cave walls red.

There were no more incoming boars.

Tarkan dropped the lifeless bodies in his hands, His knees gave way.

He knelt feeling sleep deprived and tired.

He was Mentally exhausted and on the brink of collapse, he fought to stay conscious.

Every muscle screamed at him to rest.

Every thought felt like a weight, But he gritted his teeth and with the use of will power remain conscious.

A mental panel floated before him

---

[Strength: 100]

[Agility: 2]

[Perception: 8]

[Stamina: 8]

[Intelligence: 1689]

[Timer: 47:13 (Level 1)]

[Reverse: Rewind time without restriction, as long as time remains]

[Eternal Monarch Physique (Partial)]

---

His strength had been capped at 100.

He should have hit 300 or more by now, based on how many boars he'd killed and the increase of five points per kill.

But the system had clearly capped it.

Disappointment flickered on his face.

His eyes shifted back to the timer.

Only 47 minutes and 13 seconds remained.

He couldn't help feeling bitter about it

Even though It had saved his life dozens of times, but still, the reduction in the timer left a bitter taste in his mouth.

shaking the thoughts away.

His eyes drifted around the now blood-soaked cave, over the countless dead boars, and finally settled on the pond at the back of the chamber.

The water was now deep red.

He shuddered.

He needed a safe place to rest fast. His mind had reached its limit.

The night was still thick outside. As he stepped out of the cave his eyes scanning the surrounding

His heart skipped a beat.

His face which was pale before became much paler.

"How bad can someones luck be"
