The thumping bass of the music faded as I stepped out into the cool night air. The party was still going strong behind me, but I needed a moment to breathe after everything that had happened. "There you are!" Seraphina called, catching up to me on the patio. "I've been looking all over for you. Thought you might've ditched us."
I smiled, leaning against the railing. "Just needed some fresh air."
Debra appeared beside Seraphina, her cheeks flushed from dancing. "Or maybe she's trying to hide from a certain Alpha who can't keep his eyes off her," she teased, nudging me with her elbow.
