Mora stood in the middle of an open field. She lifted both hands and formed a ring of light orange fireballs in front of her. She then launched the fireballs up to the sky, leaving them exploded into fireworks.
Ever since Mora received her grimoire at the Grimoire Acceptance Ceremony, she has spent everyday training her fire magic non-stop. She was determined to succeed her new spells for the Magic Entrance Exam that would be taking place at the Clover Kingdom's capital in six months' time.
Mora looked at her floating grimoire as Ares and Athena flew up to her.
"Great work on your new spell, Mora." Athena said. "You're becoming a quick learner by the day."
"Thanks, Athena." Mora smiled. "I think that's enough for today. I'll train again tomorrow."
"Your fire magic is improving. But don't forget. You got us if you're gonna learn spirit magic." Ares reminded.
"Oh, trust me. I got some ideas for that." Mora smiled.
Mora, Ares, and Athena turned their heads just in time to see Anika flying down from the sky on her magic broom.
"How's your training going, Mora?" Anika asked.
"It's going great." Mora replied. "My new spells are getting amazing everyday. Tomorrow, I'm going to be working on using Spirit Magic with Athena and Ares."
"I just know you're going to be an amazing Magic Knight. My niece, the Magic Knight." Anika smiled. "By the way, I brought back some meat. And I'm going to make a surprise feast for dinner."
"Sounds delicious." Athena said.
"Well, of course it will." Ares said as he crossed his arms. "We haven't eaten anything for who knows how many years."
Mora giggled as Athena rolled her eyes in annoyance.
Later that night, Anika placed plates and bowls of food and drink glasses on the dining table. Mora, Ares, and Athena walked into the kitchen and spotted marvelous dishes on the table.
"Oh, wow." Mora gasped.
Athena's eyes widened in surprise while Ares looked at the meal with a hungry face.
"It took me three hours to make this feast. But since you're heading to the Royal Capital, I cooked every food I brought from the Clover Kingdom." Anika said. "Roasted and fried chicken and streak, Seafood Risotto, Takoyaki, Fried Rice, slices of buttered bread, delicious apple juice, and, of course, triple chocolate cake. Your favorite."
"Thanks, Aunt Anika!" Mora beamed.
"Thank you." Athena said as she nodded her head gratefully.
"And I know that you'll do your best." Anika said with a soft smile as she placed her hand on Mora's shoulder. "Since the day you were born, I always know you're going to do great things with your magic. And now, you're finally getting that chance on becoming a strong, confident, beautiful Magic Knight. I'm so proud of you, Mora."
"Thanks, Auntie." Mora smiled as she hugged Anika.
"Not to sound impatient, but let's eat already!" Ares said hungrily. "I'm starving!"
"Ares." Athena groaned.
"It's fine, Athena. Let's eat." Anika smiled.
Anika and Mora sat on the chairs as they started to dig in the delicious feast before them.
"Wow! This Seafood Risotto is really good!" Mora grinned.
"So savory!" Ares beamed with a stuffed mouth. He pointed to the plate with the fried chicken around his arm. "The last four Takoyaki are mine."
"Ares, quit shoving food in your mouth and eat properly!" Athena shouted as she held the half-eaten buttered bread slice.
"It's delicious! So, sue me!" Ares shouted back.
Mora grinned at the bickering spirits.
The next day, Anika already woke up very early in the morning and began packing some snacks and a small bag of currency for her niece's journey. Mora sat on a hovering broom near the tower's windowsill. Ares and Athena floated from opposite sides of Mora.
"I packed snacks and money for your trip." Anika said as she walked up to the windowsill and handed the bag to Mora. "Have a safe trip and good luck with the exam. And don't forget to write every day."
"I will." Mora said with a nod.
"Make sure you watch over my niece once you get to the capital." Anika said to Ares and Athena.
"We will." Ares nodded.
"Of course." Athena nodded.
"All right, then." Anika said. She looked back at Mora and kissed her on the forehead. "I love you very much."
"I love you too, Aunt Anika." Mora said brightly.
Mora revved her magical broom and ascended upwards.
"I'll be rooting for you!" Anika yelled as she waved at Mora. "Pass the exam with everything you got!"
Anika watched from her window as Mora propelled forward and disappeared into the sky with fast speed.
It's been fifteen years and I can't believe how much she's grown. Anika thought with a smile. If only her parents could see her now.
Mora soared smoothly towards the sky as Ares and Athena flew by her side. After months of magic training, Mora has finally set out for the royal capital to take the Magic Knights Entrance Exam during the summer season. Her journey will be a long one since the capital is a far distance from her tower.
"Hey, Mora. Have you decided which team you want to join once we get to the capital?" Ares asked Mora.
"Not really." Mora answered. "I'll know once we get there. The only thing I have to focus on is passing the Magic Knights Entrance Exam."
"But aren't you a little nervous though?" Athena asked. "It is normal to feel nervous."
"I'm a little bit nervous, but excited too." Mora replied. "I just can't believe this is actually happening to me. I've been dreaming about this since I was a little kid and now it's finally coming true."
Ares and Athena smiled at Mora before exchanging confident looks at each other.
Mora, Ares, and Athena journeyed through the sky. Whenever the afternoon sun became an evening sunset, they settled themselves down below and camped in the woods, where Ares and Athena dove into a nearby river and scooped some fish for dinner as Mora used her fire magic to cook them. One day during the tremendous rainstorm, Mora took out a small black grip from the bag and pressed a gray switch that extended a long dark gray pole and formed a large canopy of red energy from a circular red gemstone with a pentagonal facet on the tip of the staff as a rain preventing protection.
Mora sped towards the sky with Ares and Athena. Her eyes then caught the sight of a tallest mountain, making her halt on her flying broom. She, Ares, and Athena's eyes widened in amazement as they stared at the city placed atop the mountain with a large surrounding wall.
"We made it. We finally made it." Mora said. "The Royal Capital."
"Oh wow, it's huge." Ares commented.
"Are you ready for this?" Athena asked Mora.
"Ready as I'll ever be." Mora smiled.
With that, Mora flew forward with a determined smile as Ares and Athena followed after her.
After a long journey, Mora has finally arrived at the royal capital of the Clover Kingdom, where the Magic Knights Entrance Exam awaited her there. But in order to join a Magic Knight squad, she will have to face off against one mighty foe after another.
