Chapter 53 - 6

.

Mora couldn't believe her eyes as she and Yuno had arrived at Golden Dawn's headquarters while wearing the Golden Dawn robes. The base was a palace-like structure atop a hill in an unknown region of the Clover Kingdom. Her exciting eyes stared at the majestic structure and the floral environment.

But right now, Mora and Yuno stood towards a third-class intermediate nobleman, who readjusted his glasses with a disapproving face. He has a tall, slender build with short light blue hair with an angular fringe to his left-hand side and slanted light fuchsia eyes. He wore a long-sleeved white shirt with a high collar and gold-colored trimmings around the edges along with a red-colored fabric in the middle, a black sash around his wrist area, casual white pants, and a pair of black high boots with blue fur. He wore his Golden Dawn robe with a long dark blue cloak on top of it that was long enough to cover his entire body. He also wore dark glasses with rectangular frames and a pair of gold, hooped earrings.

"Hmm. You two must be our new recruits this year." The nobleman said. "What are your names?"

"It's Yuno." Yuno said.

"And I'm Mora." Mora said.

"Hmph. Well, my name is Klaus Lunettes." The nobleman said. "Two commoners: one from a tiny village and one from the forest. Two people who are of neither royal or noble birth. What was Captain Vangeance's thinking letting you two in? Don't get cocky just because all of the captains raised their hands for you. It means nothing. You'll need more than that to be accepted as a true knight of the Golden Dawn."

"I'm certain we'll prove ourselves soon enough." Yuno said.

Klaus huffed.

"Watch that smart mouth." Klaus said.

Klaus turned around and walked off. Mora and Yuno followed him from behind.

Wow. Arrogant much? Mora thought.

After Klaus introduced Yuno to his new bedroom, he then escorted Mora to her bedroom, which looked incredibly majestic in teal and gold settings.

Wow! Mora thought as her eyes lit up in amazement. This room is twice as large as my old room back at the tower!

"Just like I told your friend, this room is wasted on the likes of you." Klaus said.

Mora narrowed her eyes in annoyance.

"Starting tomorrow I'll explain to you your duties as a Magic Knight." Klaus continued. "You will be sharp and punctual first thing in the morning. Captain Vangeance's orders, not mine. Is that understood, girl?"

"Yes, sir." Mora nodded. She crossed her arms over her chest. "And my name is Mora. Just because you're a high and mighty nobleman doesn't mean you can look down on me."

"It would be wise to watch your tone." Klaus scolded. "Don't forget, I outrank you. Now, don't be late tomorrow or I will be very disappointed."

Once Klaus walked out and closed the door, Mora rolled her eyes with a sigh as Ares and Athena flew out of her bag.

"Ugh, the nerve of that noble!" Ares shouted angrily. "He's lucky he didn't see me because I will definitely light him up to crisps until there's nothing but ashes!"

"Calm yourself, Ares." Athena said.

"She's right." Mora agreed. "As much as his tone irritates me, he's not worth it."

"I see. Looks like that Yuno boy is rubbing on you." Ares said with a teasing look on his face as he moved right in front of Mora.

Mora's face lit up with red cheeks. She pushed Ares away and turned around with her hands on her hips.

"Huh? I-I don't know what you're talking about." Mora declined.

"Mora, before you get some sleep, don't forget to write a letter for your mother." Athena reminded. "I'm sure she'll be happy that you're on your first step as a Magic Knight."

"That's right." Mora nodded.

Mora walked over towards her desk. She then looked at the full moon through the window.

I'll keep getting stronger, boys. Mora thought with a smile. No matter what. Someday, I'm gonna be the Magic Knight Captain.

In the forest, Anika activated her plant magic for floral decoration inside the living room. Then, a majestic owl came through a spatial portal that appeared halfway close to the ceiling. It flew down and handed an envelope to Anika.

"Oh, thank you." Anika said.

The owl nodded and disappeared through the spatial portal, which closed out of sight.

Anika opened the envelope and looked at the letter that was written by Mora. Her eyes lit up as she wasted no time reading her niece's letter.

"Mora has been accepted in the Golden Dawn?!" Anika shouted surprisingly. "That's my girl! I shall prepare a celebration feast for my Magic Knight and her spirits!"

Anika smiled and looked to the sky.

I'm so proud of you, Mora. Keep doing your best and you will go the distance. Anika thought.
