Chapter 20 - The Journey of Revenge to Love

Anay looked at her with a grin and raised his brows mischievously —

"Oh? So modest, yet barged into a young man's room without knocking?"

Advika glared at him. Anay chuckled and said —

"Take a good look... I'm all yours anyway."

Advika immediately averted her gaze.

Anay's laughter broke out more freely now.

She slammed the teacup on the table and turned abruptly, but before she could leave, Anay suddenly turned on his phone and played a song.

As the music began, he started humming along —

"You are my first love,

You are my first desire,

This is my only wish — just hug me..."

Advika froze. Her back still to him, her voice now heavier —

"Why are you doing all this...? You can never have me..."

Anay's voice was calm —

"I remember... Just yesterday you said — love is not about possession. So I'm just expressing it. You can reject me... I won't mind."

"You think saying such things will change your character?"

Advika turned and looked into his eyes — they were stern.

"You think your worth will increase in my eyes? You're mistaken…"

Anay smiled slightly —

"You can't see my worth yet... That's alright. But you'll regret losing me…"

Advika stared at him angrily and said —

"Your love is like those books that once read are left to gather dust on the table... while the eyes wander in search of newer ones."

Anay took a deep breath and looked up at the ceiling —

"Love that changes like clothes every day... is not the love of Anay Thakur."

He looked into her eyes again —

"This love is like a river that only seeks its ocean... and if it doesn't find it, it dries up. But it never flows into another."

Advika smirked sarcastically —

"And you're that ocean… into which a thousand rivers flow… that doesn't belong to any one."

Anay took a step toward her, his voice soft now —

"But this ocean will belong to only one… Just hold my hand once, Advika..."

"With all my heart, with all my soul... only you will have the right over me."

"You're not a need... you're necessary. Not just in my life — you are my life."

Advika's heart skipped a beat… but she said nothing.

Unable to bear the intensity of his gaze, she turned sharply and stormed out of the room.

A faint smile spread across Anay's face.

He calmly continued fixing his hair. he was now fully dressed.

He wore a black kurta sleeves half-rolled, hair perfectly styled.

Just then, Shrey burst into the room, panting —

"Anay!"

Anay raised an eyebrow, still admiring himself in the mirror —

"What happened?"

"There's a fire in the mill!"

Shrey's voice was full of panic.

Anay looked at him briefly, then continued smoothing his hair.

"Anay! Did you hear me?!"

"I heard…" Anay replied in his usual cool tone and walked out.

As Anay left, Advika quickly pulled out her phone.

A voice came from the other end —

"Just ten minutes…"

Exactly ten minutes later —

A flood of media, police, and crowd surged outside Thakur Haveli.

Cameras, mics, flashes — and shouting reporters.

Ravindra Thakur stormed out in rage —

"What's going on here? Who called all these people?!"

A reporter stepped forward and said —

"We are currently outside Thakur Haveli, where Ravindra Thakur is facing sensational allegations of murder! That's right — he is accused of killing his own son and son's friend, an engineer, and his sister three years ago."

"According to sources, the victims' side claims the murder took place right here in Thakurpur. We now await Ravindra Thakur's response!"

Amid the flashing cameras, Ravindra Thakur roared —

"All lies! This is a conspiracy against me! I have only one son — Anay Thakur!"

"They are trying to defame me!"

"But the victims claim to have solid evidence..." a reporter shouted.

His fists clenched, veins bulged on his face.

Ravindra Thakur shouted —

"What evidence?!"

At that moment, an old man slowly walked through the gate of the mansion.

Through the crowd and cameras, he stood directly in front of Ravindra Thakur.

Silence fell over the crowd.

The old man pulled a recorder from his pocket and turned it on in front of everyone.

A voice drenched in pain echoed from the recorder —

"Bauji... let it go... it's my fault... you can kill me if you want... but please let Rutvi go…"

A stunned silence spread through the crowd.

Advika dropped to her knees — she had heard this voice after three long years.

Then came the second voice — unmistakably Ravindra Thakur's:

"Son, you've made a grave mistake... betrayed your father. Forgot who Ravindra Thakur is? Every leaf here moves with my will... and you want to throw me in jail for your lover?"

"You're wrong, Bauji... if Anay finds out…"

"Anay will find out nothing... and I'll make sure he never does! To him, you were abroad yesterday, today, and always will be!"

Ravindra Thakur thundered —

"Burn them both alive!"

The crowd shivered.

The police stood frozen in shock.

Then, a voice rang out —

"Stop!"

"W–who the hell are you?" TunTun shouted.

The young man shouted back boldly —

"Ravindra Thakur… loving someone is not a crime. But you... you murdered love itself. It's hard to believe a father could kill his own son!"

Suddenly, someone struck the boy on the head with an iron rod from behind.

He screamed —

"Ahh!"

And collapsed to the ground.

Advika clutched her mouth in horror.

Back to the recording...

Ravindra Thakur spat with hatred —

"Law, court, justice — all nonsense. In Thakurpur, we are the law… we are the court… and we are the hangman!"

He turned and roared —

"Kill him too!"

Someone turned off the recorder. The cameras were lowered.

A police inspector stepped forward and placed a hand on Ravindra Thakur's shoulder.

"You're under arrest for three murders, Ravindra Thakur… We have enough evidence."

Ravindra Thakur roared —

"How dare you touch me?! I'm Ravindra Thakur!"

As the sound of handcuffs echoed, the crowd fell into silence.

Dragged by the police, Ravindra's feet scraped the ground — but the arrogance in his eyes still burned.

Rudransh leaned against a wall, a half-smile on his lips.

He whispered, "Congratulations on your victory…"

Advika didn't look at him. Her eyes were fixed on the man who had stolen the most precious bonds of her life.

Her voice didn't tremble, but each word burned —

"I won't feel victorious until he's dead, Mr. Rajvansh…"

"As long as I breathe," she muttered, "my vengeance is incomplete…"

 sometime Later.....

As soon as Anay reached the police station, he pulled out his gun and shot the inspector. The bullet pierced his brain.

A scream tore through the station. Eyes widened.

A constable collapsed to the floor.

A female officer stumbled back, crashing into a desk.

Anay had committed murder but his eyes remained fearless.

There was no remorse, no fear only fire.

Advika and Rudransh, watching the live footage, shivered.

They had never seen this side of Anay before.

The scene was still streaming live on TV —

"Where's the sarpanch?" Anay growled.

"H-he's…" a constable stuttered, lips dry.

"Stop stammering… If I lose my temper, I'll blow everyone's brains out…" Anay roared.

A constable gave a signal and ducked behind the desk.

The entire station seemed afraid of one man.

Anay slowly walked toward the holding cells.

His father had been badly beaten.

"Who laid a hand on him?" Anay screamed.

"T-the inspector…" a constable whimpered.

"Bring him!"

"You killed him…" the constable trembled.

Anay looked at the inspector's corpse —

and fired three or four more bullets into it.

"I'm Anay Thakur… My father raised me like a prince, even if by committing sins… Now I'll treat him like a king…"

Saying this, Anay entered the cell and helped Ravindra out.

Advika clenched her fists.

"You turned out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing… You're an animal too…

Even knowing your father killed your brother, you're still protecting him…

I've never seen a more double-faced man…

You talk of change but show nothing but savagery…"

Night deepened. The air was thick with tension.

In a dimly lit luxurious room, Advika sat on a revolving chair.

Within hours, Anay had made all traces of his rampage vanish as if it never happened.

Police footage, media coverage, all declared fake.

Every news channel said the same line —

"All allegations against Ravindra Thakur are baseless. No evidence found."

All of Advika and Rudransh's efforts had gone to waste.

Rudransh stood nearby, looking out the window. He said quietly —

"What now...? With Thakur around, killing his father is impossible…"

Advika slowly spun her chair around.

"How is the son of a mere sarpanch doing all this…?"

Rudransh sat in front of her.

"He's not ordinary, Advika… His maternal grandfather is currently one of India's top businessmen. Anay manages all his business. His reach goes very high. I told you this plan wouldn't work…"

"We need to get Thakur away from here for a few months… I'll..."

"No…" Advika's voice echoed.

"Now whatever happens will be face-to-face…

Either Ravindra Thakur survives — or I do."

Rudransh wanted to say something, but stopped.

After a moment, he said softly —

"You're mine, Advika… You can't destroy yourself."

Advika's eyes pierced straight into him.

"Don't worry…

You'll find me alive, safe and ready."
