Artemis didn't waste any time looking all around him, trying to find any clues to see where the archer could be.
He couldn't be that far from them since they all attacked from the same general vicinity last time. Unless they made a run for it as soon as they saw their companions die.
"I picked up something from the left side of the road Artemis!" Amelia shouts from behind.
He immediately turns to look and catches a glimpse of the archer who begins to run. They began to make a full sprint away from the group but it wasn't enough because both Shimada and Artemis were already on their tail.
I won't let them get away, not when they killed my companions before. These bastards would have no mercy on any of us if the positions were swapped.
They didn't show us mercy before I got brought back to this whole fight. So who am I kidding, these guys need to die here and now. I keep telling myself that it's better to let people live occasionally but it's not been the right time yet.
Shimada manages to get ahead of the archer and stops him dead in his tracks. "No more running." Shimada says with a serious tone.
It doesn't take long for Artemis to catch up to them— He immediately brings his blade up from behind and stabs it through the archers back. Blood begins to drip down the blade and onto the ground as the archer coughs a few times.
"I wasn't expecting guys like you to show up..." He says weakly before falling to his knees.
Artemis pulls the blade out from the man's back. "Well you would've killed us so don't expect mercy." Artemis speaks without an ounce of sympathy in his voice.
They killed my whole party before finishing me off in the last life so I don't have any sort of feelings in me to let them live. This death was a well deserved one.
A quick and easy hunt, I didn't think this would be too much of a challenge with how strong I am and with how fast shimada is apparently. I've learned something new about him today, not that I can complain about it.
He's a lot stronger than I originally thought so that will make future battles a lot more interesting. I'll have someone who can keep up by my side while Cynthia keeps Amelia protected.
Thud. The man's body fell onto the floor as Artemis wipes the blade off on the side of his clothes. "Probably best to keep moving forward, I'm sure this won't be the only time we fight today." Artemis suggests before sheathing his blade.
I have a feeling that we will have a lot more enemies to deal with soon, especially when they don't hear back from these guys. I'm certain that they communicate quite frequently.
They have to keep everyone up to date on if anyone's on the roads so I'm not going to be surprised at all. My party is fairly capable of dealing with this as a whole so I'm not worried anymore.
I'll do what I can to protect them as we continue to travel along this road.
They make it back to the others without another problem for the time being but now they know the road isn't safe. Its best to travel with caution moving forward so that no one is killed again.
So the party continues onwards after everyone makes sure the current enemies are actually dead. It wasn't worth taking a chance that they could be alive.
I know that the path ahead is only going to get worse but I'm glad that everyone is capable of handling themselves. Well, I didn't get to see what Cynthia was capable of just yet but I know I will see soon enough.
If Amelia was able to cast something strong enough to find our enemies and Shimada was able to keep up, then I'm positive that Cynthia will do just fine. Everyone is strong here, but Liora also didn't get to do much there did she?
"Those were lookouts, I'm surprised that there wasn't more of them." Liora speaks up with a bit of shock in her voice.
"They aren't typically that small of a group?" Cynthia asks with a bit of concern in her voice.
I wouldn't expect a lookout team to be that big to begin with since there job is solely to watch out for people or animals. Having big team or group would give away that they are here.
"Typically 5 to about 10 guys are usually in a group to keep an eye out, but it's odd that there were only 3 of them." Liora answers while taking a few glances around.
Everything around us seems to be pretty quiet so I don't know if these guys are really good at hiding or if something else happened in Helfri. They could've cut down on the amount of people out here because of something in Helfri itself.
That's just a guess since I've not seen what awaits us just yet but I know that there has to be a good reason that we haven't seen more than the three of them.
The party cautiously continues forward while keeping an eye on the surroundings since the enemy could be hiding anywhere. But over the next hour they didn't see a damn thing, not once.
Helfri was finally in sight and it couldn't look anymore bleak than what they expected. The buildings looked run down, nobody was really in sight, and small fires were a long the pathways.
I can't say that I'm surprised by the appearance of this place since I would've expected it with a name like Helfri. It gives me hell vibes, I can't believe that it's not worse than this.
The enemy is here hiding somewhere though, somewhere in the shadows of the place itself. I know that we'll have to fight someone again shortly, it's just a matter of who.
