Chapter 30: Bloodbath, Fragmented Yuansteel!
Hearing the thunderous sound, everyone inside Tiemu Manor was startled once again.
"Everyone, stay alert!"
Lin Xiao frowned and shouted firmly, his voice echoing throughout the manor.
As the sound of hooves approached, Lin Xiao, Lin Fan, and the others quickly recognized the newcomers.
It was the Mad Blade Martial Hall.
Leading them was none other than Hall Master Luo Cheng.
"Brother Lin Xiao, I received news that the two leaders of Black Dragon Fortress took advantage of the Lin family leader's absence and launched an attack on Tiemu Manor. I brought my men immediately. What's the situation?"
Luo Cheng halted his group outside the manor gate and called out to Lin Xiao.
Lin Xiao breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. "Thank you, Hall Master Luo. Tiemu Manor is safe. The invaders from Black Dragon Fortress have already been wiped out."
"Oh? Then my information must've been off. Did only one of their leaders come?" Luo Cheng asked with a hint of doubt.
"They both came," Lin Xiao shook his head slightly.
Looking at the corpses littering the manor gates, Luo Cheng was stunned. "You dealt with both of them yourself? And all their men? Impressive."
"Actually, Wu Sha wasn't killed by me—it was Lin Fan who defeated him," Lin Xiao corrected calmly.
"What? Wu Sha was a Heaven Origin Stage cultivator. Lin Fan killed him?"
Luo Cheng inhaled sharply, staring at Lin Fan with utter disbelief.
His hand on the reins trembled slightly. After a long pause, he slowly said, "The Lin family is truly blessed."
At this moment, Luo Cheng couldn't help but feel relieved. Good thing the Mad Blade Hall had always been close with the Lin family. Otherwise, they might've been in trouble like the Lei and Xie families.
Behind him, Wu Yun also stared wide-eyed. He hurried over and whispered to Lin Fan, "Brother Lin, you're insane! I'm still stuck at Earth Origin, and you're out here killing Heaven Origin elites!"
"Hehe, just lucky," Lin Fan replied modestly, borrowing a line from the legendary "Brother Lucky."
"You little—" Wu Yun rolled his eyes with a laugh.
Just then, Lin Xiao said to Luo Cheng, "Hall Master Luo, let's talk inside."
Luo Cheng glanced at the bodies strewn outside the gates and shook his head. "Let's save the formalities for another day."
He promptly ordered the Mad Blade Hall group to withdraw.
Lin Xiao didn't insist.
Once they left, Lin Xiao ordered everyone to begin cleaning up the battlefield.
It took half a day to finish, but the smell of blood lingered at the manor's gate.
By dusk, another convoy arrived at Tiemu Manor.
The guards on the wall recognized the familiar caravan and joyfully opened the gates.
Lin Zhentian and the others had been in high spirits, pleased that their Yang Essence Stone delivery had gone smoothly—until they smelled the blood. Their expressions instantly darkened.
"Something happened!"
Lin Zhentian's face turned grim.
"Father, Big Brother, Second Brother—you're back! How did it go?"
Lin Xiao, accompanied by Lin Fan and Lin Dong, stepped forward to greet them.
"Everything on our end went fine," Lin Zhentian replied. Seeing them all unharmed, he sighed in relief. "But what's with this blood at the gate?"
Lin Xiao explained everything that had happened while they were away—the Black Dragon Fortress assault, the deaths of Wu Sha and Yan Kuo, and the total defeat of the bandits.
After hearing it all, Lin Zhentian's expression eased. "Fan'er and Dong'er did well this time!"
"But the remaining forces of Black Dragon Fortress must be eradicated. We need to send a message—let the world know the Lin family isn't to be trifled with!"
Lin Xiao nodded. "The two leaders are dead, and most of their men were killed. We can easily wipe out the rest whenever we're ready."
"Good. Let's rest for now. At dawn, I'll personally lead the charge to eliminate them!"
Lin Zhentian declared.
No one objected.
…
The next morning, even before dawn, a black-clad force gathered inside Tiemu Manor.
The horses' hooves were wrapped in cloth, and the entire group exuded a silent, murderous aura.
"Move out—wipe Black Dragon Fortress from the map!"
Lin Zhentian roared.
With Lin Mang and a host of elite guards at his side, they surged out like a black tidal wave, heading toward the enemy stronghold.
By midday, they had already returned.
Black Dragon Fortress had been annihilated, and they brought back the spoils of the bandits' many years of plundering.
"Fan'er, Dong'er—come here."
Lin Zhentian ordered others to store the loot, then called over Lin Fan and Lin Dong.
They exchanged a glance and approached.
Lin Zhentian took out a chunk of dark metal, about the size of half a human head, and handed it to them.
"This is Fragmented Yuansteel. It's excellent at disrupting Yuan Power—and more importantly, it serves as a strong conduit for spiritual force."
Lin Dong's eyes lit up at once.
Lin Fan raised an eyebrow. He remembered this from the original timeline—it had been Lin Dong who found it.
But now, Lin Zhentian had picked it out and given it to them—likely because he knew they were training in spiritual power.
After a moment of hesitation, Lin Dong said, "Lin Fan-ge deserves this more. Let him have it."
Lin Fan chuckled. "This piece is big enough for both of us. I'll hold onto it for now, and when I've forged the weapons, I'll split them with you."
Saying so, he accepted the Fragmented Yuansteel.
Lin Zhentian looked on approvingly at their mutual trust. "Good, good. That's all—go do what you need to do."
They both nodded and left with the material.
"Lin Fan-ge, what kind of weapon are you going to make from it?"
Lin Dong asked curiously once they were alone.
"Needles," Lin Fan answered with a smile.
"Needles?" Lin Dong scratched his head, confused.
Lin Fan grinned darkly. "With a chunk this size, we can forge hundreds of Fragmented Yuansteel Needles. We'll use spiritual force to control them—imagine a swarm flying toward the enemy… heh!"
Lin Dong imagined the scene and felt a chill down his spine.
But then, thinking about using it against enemies, his eyes sparkled. "Lin Fan-ge, that's genius! Especially in the dark—no one could guard against that!"
"Exactly." Lin Fan clapped him on the shoulder, satisfied. "Glad someone gets it."
Just then, the familiar voice of the system echoed in Lin Fan's mind.
