I sat at the head of the glass boardroom table, blazer slung over the back of my chair, sleeves rolled to the forearms.
The boardroom was stuffy, despite the central cooling. I hate to remind June. It's why I even have workers. Is my own main boardroom office having heat problems??
"—so we've already locked in the Singapore acquisition," David was saying, pointing at the screen with the laser like it mattered. "We'll see at least a twelve percent increase in projected Q3 margins if the next two weeks stay clean."
I nod reluctantly, but my eyes aren't really on the projection.
"Why is this board room stuffy?"i question the room.
"Why is no one fucking answering my question? "I bark.
"Sir-sir— i apologize sir …the electrical company was called. There's just a little delay," June pleads.
I don't give a damn about the delay!! Make sure the system is recalibrated. I can't focus in such an environment."
"Okay, sir," she responds calmly.
