Chapter 9 - Stabbed

> "I find it appalling how everyone is so quick to conclude that Olivia isn't the victim, and even more how her identity is so eagerly reduced to her relationship with Sylvester. This tells you just how misogynistic the internet is!"

> "Ngl, I saw this coming from a mile away. But we all gotta agree—even if Sylvester is innocent, it's about time we start suspecting why all his exes are obsessed with him. Something is not adding up…"

> "Sylvester's toxic fans are at it again. Even if Olivia turns out not to be the victim, how shameless can you be to gloat over a suicide victim…?"

> "Olivia jumped?! Watch me dissect the psychology behind this act of hers…!"

> "I like how suddenly Olivia is the victim, like everyone didn't see what happened in the coffee shop where she damn near stabbed Sylvester with a fork! Her suicide is sad, but I refuse to believe she's the victim in any way!"

> "This is the best news of my life in a while. Trash took itself out without waiting—how beautiful!"

> "Wow, so she couldn't handle the breakup and killed herself? Who would have thought *eye roll emoji*"

> "Do I have a chance now?"

> "She took the easy way out. One of these days, one of Sylvester's crazy fans would have done her in anyway—especially after that coffee shop event."

> "Suiciding was the worst way to go about this. Should have at least taken Sylvester with her! Literally, what does she gain from this??"

> "I do like me a dead rival."

> "No one's gonna talk about the guys who saved her… never mind, they started a GoFundMe for trauma lmaoo."

> "Her fall was so meh, I got bored halfway lol—"

> " 'We were so close yet so far. By the way, please help refund the money we spent calling that expert to break the door' — Olivia's good 'samaritans' plead.

This is the ultimate height of shamelessness y'all."

> "I remember her sending death threats to anyone who 'dared' like Sylvester. At least we won't have to worry about that anymore."

> "The drone guy recording everything for hours is diabolical *skull emoji*."

> " It's giving Final Destination."

> "Leaked DM proves Sylvester told Olivia to commit suicide?!"

> "For anyone who cares, I'm actually her long-lost sister and I'm coming to inherit everything, including Sylvester."

> "Tbh this is a win-win situation to me. Y'all acting like life isn't overrated…"

> "A thread on why Olivia isn't the victim."

> "I like how suddenly 80% of the internet decided to become edgelords. This is why you don't get on the bad side of the internet lol."

> "...."

> ".."

Sylvester lay on the pearly white sheets in a room surrounded by pale blue and green color templates.

His smooth skin, reminiscent of fresh cocoa, gleamed softly within the calming landscape, and along with his milky curls and homely brown eyes, he looked like an angelic creature descended to earth.

The creak of the door announced the presence of a sudden surge of individuals, drawing Sylvester's attention.

He smiled. "Is it ready?"

The tired-looking assistant, Javil, nodded. "Within a few hours, these experts will create a very original impression—I can confirm."

Sylvester glanced at the nervous group who felt flustered by his presence. More specifically, his looks.

Javil chuckled internally. Even he, with zero attraction to men and a soulmate he deeply loved, still needed a week to adjust.

"Can I trust you?" Sylvester smiled with a fragility that unnerved the group of workers.

"Yes…!"

"Of course!"

"Anything you say!"

He nodded in approval. However, only

Javil knew that the question was actually meant for him, and so, without wasting any time, he approached Sylvester and handed him all the needed documents for an overview.

Within the next thirty minutes, the experts got to work. Sylvester was stripped of his hospital shirt, revealing his well-toned body and rock-hard abdomen.

Despite their flustered state, their professionalism was a testament to be spoken of, and with rapt attention and seriousness, they were done.

After a word of thanks, the video setup group rolled in. A couple of tests were done, and after confirming the perfect lighting, angles, etc., everything was fully set up.

Sylvester adjusted accordingly, and within seconds, the livestream began.

Owing to how popular the news about Olivia's death had gotten, immediately the livestream began, more than a thousand people rolled in despite the midnight hour. As the stream continued, more and more viewers piled up.

> "Wtf, is that blood?!"

Sitting before the screen, looking all gaunt and faint, was a pale-looking Sylvester with dim eyes.

A bandage was wrapped around his abdomen, and his expression was filled with pain.

"The livestream has started," a quiet voice drifted across the room, causing Sylvester to look up with a dazed look.

"S-so soon…?"

> "Ahhhh, who hurt my baby, look at him omg nooo."

> "Why tf is he bandaged? Is that a stab wound?? How? Why??"

> "Is this why he hasn't been on the internet for days now weep"

> "It's probably connected to Olivia with how things are going…."

> "Noo nooo cries hard"

"I…" Sylvester's countenance drooped, and he muttered, after a pained sigh, "...couldn't save Olivia."

He paused with a deep expression of sorrow before continuing, "She visited a day before her stunt, still unwilling to accept our breakup… voices rose, tension spiked, and before security could do a thing, she stabbed me."

> "Wtf. Now that was a twist I least expected!"

> "That crazy hoe!"

> "That sure shuts a lot of internet virtue-signalers tf up."

> "I. DID. NOT. EXPECT THAT."

> "That changes so many things holy!"

> "I'm kinda still doubting…"

Sylvester continued, "I was quickly rushed to the hospital, and in the chaos, she became a mere afterthought."

> "Personally, I'd get a stab back idgaf."

> "How did you even let your guard down so badly?"

> "10/10 guys will do anything but date mentally stable folks."

> "If it hurts too much, just come to mummy to console you—"

Sylvester paused with a frown, as if battling with words to speak.

> "Fuck, he's so hot."

> "Fuck, he's so hot."

> "Fuck, he's so hot."

> "Commenter above hello??"

> "Is there no one to ban this horny fuck? Someone got stabbed and you're repeating BS."

> "If stabbed people look that hot every day, I'd consider changing my profession—"

> #This user got banned#

> "Nice work, admin!"

He continued, "After recovery, I planned to have her sleep in jail for a couple of days, get a restraining order, then let her off—only to hear the recent heartbreaking news. I was asleep due to injections when the whole thing transpired."

His hair drooped sadly along with his eyes. "If I had been aware, then perhaps I'd have driven and done my very best to dissuade her. I am very dissatisfied with my team for not waking me up to save her. I'm very, very disappointed."

> "Idk it's the direct opposite for me."

> "Anyway to donate to the team, they're the real Gs."

> "Someone reward that team."

> "I see you're not as smart as you are cute, Sylvy."

> "Commenter above, that's such a yuck nickname."

> "Olivia was a bit… disturbed."

> "Baby, we won't let them do anything to you anytime soon. You're too hot for that, so say what you gotta say."

> "It's his desperate attempt that's killing me."

> "She was a crazy bitch—a really fucked-up one. There, I said it."

> "Someone once screamed misogyny about Olivia, right?? Fucking hilarious."

> "I can't believe she actually hurt Sylv, damn I wanna stab her all over again."

"She had a few issues, but she was a good person, and even more, a good partner." Sylvester tried adjusting a bit, only to gasp in pain.

> "Is it terrible I'm looking down more than up?"

> "Maybe being stabbed isn't so bad after all—"

> "Admin, please ban! Ban! Ban! I hate y'all acting like this is something trivial! He was fucking stabbed, stop being nonsensical!"

> "Denial is a river in Egypt."

> "'She was a good partner' and it's her leaving you half dead after the breakup. I hate dumb bitches."

"I… I'm quite heartbroken as much as I am traumatized. But if there was something I've come to regret most, it'd be my inability to save her from untimely death."

He was silent for a while, but not the comment section. Most comments were filled with people consoling him and telling him it wasn't his fault. Others who were either cursing out Olivia or making problematic jokes were banned.

Sylvester ended the livestream with a plea to his fans and the internet as a whole to approach Olivia's case with compassion and understanding, because in his words:

"Though she had her flaws, it doesn't distort the fact that she was a broken woman who made the worst choice at the end of the day. She wasn't evil; she just had issues that led her to make terrible decisions. Seeing how tragic the entire thing is, I beg of you to exercise empathy. It'd mean a lot to me if you did so."

Despite the clashes and online discourses, the seed had been planted. And all that could be done was hope that it'd sprout beautifully, and they'd truly take his words to heart and substitute cruel mockery with empathy.

Regardless, the main goal had been achieved.
