Chapter 33 - Chapter 33 – Preparing for Japan: Motorhome Plans and Travel Documents

After the exciting announcement of their upcoming journey to Japan, the household buzzed with a new kind of energy. Hana was especially excited, her mood lighter than it had been in days. The sadness from her parents' short visit was replaced with eager anticipation for the journey ahead. Phuby, now fully committed to the idea of traveling together, was already researching the best options.

Originally, the plan was to use Japan's famous railway system to explore the country. However, after discussing it further with Om Luky and Mrs. Wulan, they realized how exhausting it might be to move constantly with luggage and coordinate train schedules for everyone. Instead, a more flexible and comfortable idea emerged—renting a motorhome.

"A motorhome, huh?" Om Luky looked impressed as Phuby explained the details over breakfast. "That sounds like a great way to travel. We can stop wherever we want and take our time."

"It'll also save us a lot of stress from switching hotels and catching trains," Mrs. Wulan agreed, sipping her coffee. "Plus, I can cook something if we miss Indonesian food."

Hana clapped her hands in excitement. "That sounds perfect! I've always wanted to try road-tripping through Japan!"

Phuby smiled. "I already found a good rental. It's about 700,000 yen for a whole month—that's around seventy-nine million rupiah. It has everything we need: sleeping space, a small kitchen, and even a mini living area. We'll still need to rent houses or places to sleep if we stay in the cities, though."

Everyone nodded in agreement. With the plan set, they moved on to the next big task—travel documents.

The entire morning was spent discussing logistics. Passports for Hana and her parents were ready, of course. But Phuby, Mrs. Wulan, and Om Luky needed to make theirs. They went to the immigration office and handled the registration and submission in one efficient visit. Thanks to the system funds, they opted for expedited service, ensuring everything would be ready in less than a week.

Next, they tackled visas. Japan required tourist visas, and Hana, familiar with the process, helped guide them through the online forms. They submitted everything as a family group to streamline the approval process.

"Don't forget we need international driving permits too," Hana added thoughtfully while reviewing the checklist.

"I already applied online," Phuby said. "Just waiting for confirmation."

Both Om Luky and Mrs. Wulan followed his lead, registering their permits with ease. Since all the forms were available in Bahasa Indonesia and Japanese, it wasn't too hard to navigate.

By late afternoon, they finally wrapped up all the travel documentation. It was exhausting, but also exhilarating. The excitement on everyone's faces was unmistakable, especially Hana's.

As they sat in the living room, a notification flashed in Phuby's system interface.

System Notification:Starting now, cashback bonuses will only be activated for purchases of Rp10.000.000 or more.Thank you for using the system.Current Balance: Rp12.758.000.000

Phuby narrowed his eyes slightly at the update, then gave a small nod. It made sense. The system was evolving along with his actions—perhaps to prevent abuse or encourage more meaningful use of funds.

After dinner, as everyone was relaxing, Phuby checked over the day's total expenditures.

Motorhome Rental (1 Month): Rp79.000.000

Passports and Express Fees (3 People): Rp3.000.000

Japan Visa Applications (3 People): Rp6.000.000

International Driving Permits (3 People): Rp4.500.000

Advance Payment for Accommodations in Japan (Partial): Rp20.000.000

Total Expenses: Rp112.500.000Post-Spending Balance:Rp12.758.000.000 – Rp112.500.000 = Rp12.645.500.000Cashback from System (Double of Total Spent):Rp112.500.000 × 2 = Rp225.000.000Final Balance:Rp12.645.500.000 + Rp225.000.000 = Rp12.870.500.000

With all preparations progressing smoothly and the system continuing to reward smart spending, Phuby felt a deep sense of satisfaction. He looked over at Hana, who was curled up beside her mother, chatting in Japanese about the places they'd like to visit. Even Mrs. Wulan was animatedly talking with Om Luky about the foods they should try—and which ones they'd avoid.

As he gazed at the scene before him, Phuby felt both proud and grateful. Life had been unpredictable, but right now, it was beautiful. The family was united, dreams were being built, and they were about to embark on an adventure that none of them would forget.

Final System Balance:Rp12.870.500.000
