Chapter 6 - Fractures In Paradise

Six months of blissful romance passed, their love blooming with every shared glance and whispered promise.Suhani and Anshu were wrapped in a world of their own, untouched and glowing.

"I'll never leave you, no matter what. I'll make your parents agree to our wedding, Suhani."Anshu's words were a balm to Suhani's fears. Her heart swelled with joy as tears rolled down her cheeks. For the first time, her dreams felt reachable… real.

But paradise doesn't last forever.

One ordinary evening shattered their perfect illusion.

Anshu had access to Suhani's Instagram account — a small gesture of trust between lovers. But that evening, something changed.

A friend request appeared.A name from the past.

Curious, Suhani accepted."Who are you?" she messaged."I'm Pratham," the reply came, "Your classmate from 5th grade."

It was simple. Innocent.A conversation rooted in childhood memories, harmless and warm.

But when Anshu saw the messages —He didn't see nostalgia. He saw betrayal.

His voice rose like thunder. His words sharp, uncalled for.He yelled at her, without reason.

Suhani stood frozen.Tears streamed down her face,Her heart breaking under the weight of his rage.

"Then go to your childhood friend. Leave me!"His voice echoed like a curse.

His possessiveness gripped her like chains. It wasn't love anymore — it was fear, it was suffocation.

But Pratham's presence… that wasn't betrayal. That was comfort, memories, a connection that predated Anshu.

Anshu's distrust cut deeper than words ever could.

Suhani whispered through sobs, her favourite poet's line escaping her lips:"Woh aaya hi nahi, jo ik dafa gaya."("The one who leaves, never returns.")

Her world fell apart.

There were no days or nights anymore.Only silence, swollen eyes, and a soul aching for peace.

Her friend Khushi tried to console her:"Suhani… he's just too possessive. Give him time. He loves you, na?"

But Suhani's heart screamed inside,"I love Anshu..."

And yet, a voice inside asked—

How could he not trust me?Did our six months mean nothing to him?
