Chapter 34 - Madness

Wu Zhi made his way back to the flower garden estate giddy with his earnings. When he made it back elder Ming had already prepared for him to fight with some foundation establishment cultivators.

"I'll be watching over the fight to make sure no one gets seriously injured. We are just testing a new technique in combat to see its effectiveness, so give him some time to activate it" elder Ming said.

The group of foundation establishment cultivators nodded and Wu Zhi even saw that receptionist all those years ago back at the hollow caves.

"Great then lets begin, Wu Zhi activate the technique".

Wu Zhi made his way to the center of the training ground sat in the lotus position and went to activate the technique he had never used before. He felt his heart beat racing, his blood in his body awakening like it had been asleep for years. As the blood rushed into his head it felt like he was shedding off his stoic personality. Like a lazy dragon who is suddenly enraged he felt more active and alive like he ever had. A primal urge buried deep in his psyche started to come out as he felt like a dam that was about to break. "*Snap!*" like something had snapped in his mind his consciousness took the back seat while instinct took over.

Like a tiger lunging for its prey he pounced with inhumane speed. He punched a man so fast and hard in the gut he flung him against a wall. Moving like a beast he went for his next prey. With bloodshot eyes he full on sprinted at the next person.

Everyone in the room went serious as they saw there colleague get flung against a wall. There guards went up as they realized this was no easy job as they had thought. Realizing now how suspicious it was for elder Ming to offer such a reward they grew tense ready for the confrontation.

Wu Zhi was fast as he went straight to the next person before they could group. A man with prayer beads around his body instantly went into stance ready to deflect and parry the blows. Only for him to be crushed by the sheer pressure of the blows. The ones he deflected were fine but as soon as he went to parry he felt like he had hit a brick wall. Flung like a kite he whipped around the room into the ground at the other side of the room incapacitated.

Fear gripped the remaining cultivators as they realized it wasn't luck or a surprise attack that defeated their first colleague.

He shot around the room like a cannonball punching, tossing, kicking everyone. No one could hurt him as his bones acted like the best armor he could wear, before they realized they had to target the areas not protected by his bones it was too late.

The last to remain was Xue Yue the receptionist from the hollow caves. She used talismans to set up barriers around herself to protect herself. Like golden transparent walls they were held up by a shining talisman that supported the wall with qi. Wu Zhi remained in his trance as he banged on the wall like a brute. The first one didn't stand a single blow. Xue Yue then set up more and more powerful ones. Like a simple minded beast that only knew how to do one thing Wu Zhi banged and banged on the barrier. *Bang!* Another one broke after taking 10 blows. He pressed on hammering and hammering with a sole objective in mind. The barriers showed more a more cracks from were he was hammering. Like a spider web they grew and grew. His fists now having their skin torn off from his body showed his knuckles in all their bloody glory. Like blood diamonds they were slick with blood, without the skin to cushion the blows his attacks only grew stronger and stronger as he punched and punched the barrier. The barrier was on the verge of breaking as Xue Yue had a look of panic on her face. She was about to start using her good stuff when she heard a shout.

"ENOUGH"!

The shout seemed to wake Wu Zhi from his bloodlust as he immediately stopped what he was doing. He had a look of confusion on his face as he had no idea what he was doing or what was happing. He saw a golden barrier in front of him with cracks in it and a talisman supporting it. He saw bodies on the ground in one piece but groaning and moaning like they were in pain.

"That's enough Wu Zhi, it looks like I have completely misjudged either the technique or your affinity with blood. Come see me later tonight in the tea room, I will deal with the aftermath you have caused here" elder Ming said.

Wu Zhi was befuddled as he had no recollection of what he did. He just remembered the feeling... the feeling of blood rushing, blood pumping, the feeling of being alive.

"OH, and under no circumstances are you to use that technique again. Unless you or people you care about are in mortal peril DO NOT USE THAT TECHNIQUE" elder Ming warned as he got to work cleaning up the mess he had caused.

Wu Zhi looked down at his fists feeling the pain come up to him as the adrenaline wore off. The skin was torn from his knuckles giving him the first look at his bones after he achieved flawless bones. "It seems I went to far" he told himself.
