"I need to search for a blacksmith to fix my sword, can you stay here for a bit? Since I'm new here, it might take a bit. But I'll ask around."
"Ok..." Katsuri nodded her head absentmindedly as she watched the band of echoes play their instrument.
Her plates were all empty. When looking over to Danjin's they were also quite clean.
The food here was really amazing.
It tasted almost better than anything she had ever bought from the store.
In fact, it's probably quite an insult to compare this kind of dish to instant noodles...
But what can she do? It's not like she knew how to cook herself anything better.
The last time she tried to cook for herself, she had almost lost a couple of her fingers.
Katsuri waited for Danjin in her seat, still admiring the moving echoes on the small stage.
Her eyes focused entirely on the echoes that she missed the approaching figure in her peripheral.
"Katsuri?"
"...?"
"Ah! I knew you looked familiar! So it was Katsuri!"
Turning her head at the sudden callout, her eyes met that of a blond with a massive hat.
It was Phoebe, an Acolyte of the Order.
"Hi."
"Yes, yes. Hello! It's been a day since we met, if I knew you were arriving in Ragunna today, I would've welcomed you."
"No, it's alright. I'm not used to such formality. I think it would be alright to just have a normal talk over drinks."
Katsuri watched as the Acolyte glanced around.
"You're here alone? Whose plates are these?"
Pointing towards the empty seat, Katsuri responded, "It belongs to my companion. Ah, speak of the devil."
Katsuri waved her head at the familiar red head approaching from behind Phoebe.
Phoebe, noticing the new guest, bowed her head.
"Hello, nice to meet you. I am Phoebe, an Acolyte of the Order."
Danjin also slightly bowed her head, mimicking Phoebe.
"Yes, nice to meet you too. My name is Danjin, I am part of the Midnight Rangers from Jinzhou."
"So you were Katsuri's companion? I didn't know. Last time we met you guys weren't together, were you? Perhaps I might've just missed you."
"No, I just met her yesterday too. Somethings led to another and now we're moving around together. I just sent my weapon to a blacksmith, he said I should be able to pick it up in 4 days."
Katsuri tilted her head at the amount of chit chatting that was being thrown around.
Since she's not that socially skilled, she turned her head away, trying to run away from the conversation.
The words entered through her left ear and escaped through the right. Just the right amount of balance.
It seemed that the small band of Echoes had finished their show, now a different echoes were about to perform.
She felt her interest waver. Not feeling like watching anymore, she turned her attention towards the two others that had apparently stopped their conversation midway through.
Noticing the two people who was just watching her, her face suddenly turned red as she covered one half of her face.
"Why are you both watching me?"
Danjin and Phoebe glanced towards one another before nodding.
"Nothing. It looked like you were enjoying yourself for a bit. We thought that it would be a shame if our conversation interrupted your joy in the moment."
"That doesn't justify watching me!"
Although Katsuri exclaimed this, her voice was very low, almost barely audible.
If the two of them didn't have superhuman hearing, the words would've probably gone unheard.
"Anyways, as I was saying, we're currently searching for a place to live. If I had been alone, I could've just camped out in the wild but with her, I can't really do so. So I wanted to ask you if there's an accommodation that's free of customer somewhere?"
Yes, there were no accommodation that's not already booked by tourist.
Since the Carnevale was close, of course all the hotels and homestays had been booked weeks before it started.
Due to that, the two of them, Danjin and Katsuri, had no roof to hide under.
"Hm... I don't know. I've never rented a room myself, so I'm not familiar with how they work."
While playing with her hat, Phoebe suddenly light up.
"I know! Why don't you stay at my house for now? I've been thinking of getting other members of the Order to live with me since the house felt way to big to live alone in... But for some reason, none of them agreed."
She scratched her face in embarrassment.
"Is that alright?" Danjin asked, probably concerned about Phoebe's privacy.
"Yes, it was a matter of time before I get some house mates but since you two are here, isn't it alright to invite the both of you instead? Plus, there's exactly two rooms that are free. It would be nice if I could have fun even at home."
As Katsuri looked at Phoebe's embarrassed smile, her jaw dropped.
She can't believe there's someone so kind in this world!
Well, it was in another world... But that doesn't matter!
An Angel had descended from Heaven!
A Salvation has come in the shape of Phoebe!
