Peter Petruski was having a bad start of the week. He was let go from his job due to the company's downsizing initiative. In other words, the company was going bankrupt and wouldn't be able to give severance pay. In other news, Petruski's debts had been called. He went into debt when he was taking care of his late mother. Medical bills are a bitch. He had until Saturday to get $30000 together, or being out of a job wasn't going to be the only thing he was going to be out of.
He couldn't go into more debt to pay off his current debt. The house was already mortgaged, and his truck wasn't in good enough condition to sell. He was a chemist damit not some miracle worker. No job would pay even a fraction of that up front. He couldn't run away. His debt collectors had ways of finding him. Hunting him down. Even getting out of the country would not be enough. He needed a way to clear the books.
He had the equipment to make his own brand of adhesive. And his own delivery system. He would use his Paste gun to rob and steal the money he needed. Banks would be too heavily guarded. He would rob movie theaters. Quick jobs in and out. No one would get killed; they would just be stuck for a while. Peter Petruski was a lot of things, but a murderer was not one of them.
His little theater job was going great. The tracksuit mafia was hitting a few banks, keeping the cops busy. Peter was already on the third theater and had already made $18800 from the first two. The issue started to happen when three teenagers came out of one of the movies. The blond one dodged his paste, the one with pink hair got hit, and was stuck as she should be. Now that girl in the bright yellow jacket, something went wrong with that one. She seemed to have launched fireworks from her hands, blocking the airborne paste. She either had her own tech or she was one of those freaks. If things went south, Peter could always run…
"Wait, what is that thing?" Peter Petuski
-.-
"Fuck I'm stuck." My legs are encased in this green sticky stuff. Why am I getting flashes of tasting glue? God damit this body has weird residual memories. Okay, what to do now? Jubilee is freaking out and tossing fire works. Gwen is somehow climbing on the wall in panic. And I'm still trapped here. Okay, I have access to a sonic screwdriver that could break apart the adhesive from my feet. But I have never used it and don't know how to use it or how to do what I want with it.. God, that thought was a mess. And I really don't want Sonic Screwdriver falling into this bad guy's hands. That just leaves Meicoomon. Great time to summon a digital monster cat. I pulled the card out of my inventory. The card disintegrated into what looked to be pixels.
"Well, best friend, let's get mew out of this sticky situation." Meicoomon swiped her sharp claws, freeing me from the glue. "Nyow to deal with the troublemaker who got mew stuck." Meicoomon charged at the guy with the glue gun.
"Wait, what is that thing?" Glue guy
The glue guy now had his attention split between Meicoomon and Jubilee. He had to start dodging claw swipes and pyrotechnics.
"Looks like it's time for Paste Pot Pete to spil-" Paste Pot Pete was interrupted by Gwen falling from the ceiling on top of him. This knocked him to the ground. Letting Jubilee get a clean shot off at the tank that held his glue, pasting down Paste Pot Pete.
"You okay, Gewn?"
"Yeah, I'm fine, I just fell from 20 feet, and Paste Pot Pete broke my fall. How are you doing, Chi? And what is that cat thing?" Gwen
"Can we talk about this in a private venue?"
"Oki doki, let's blow this popsicle stand before mall security show up to ask questions." Jubilee finger guns to short fire crackers. "Stop that, we're out of danger."
The three of us ran to Gwen's car. I opened the door for Jubilee, didn't want her welding the door shut by accident. Meicoomon had piggybacked in my jacket's hoodie.
"We are three super-powered teens; we could form a group and be known as the Power Puff Girls." Jubilee excitedly rambled.
"Just no, we are not going to name our selfs after genetic experiments gone wrong." I deadpanned
"So, back to the earlier question, what is that thing?" Gwen asked, pointing at Meicoomon.
"I'm a Digimon. A digital monster. My name is Meicoomon, and you already know my partner Chiaki." Meicoomon
"I see the monster part, but what makes you digital?" Jubilee asked
"Oh, I can do stuff like this." Meicoomon took out my iPhone and jumped into the screen. She was now waving from the screen of my phone before messaging herself to Gwen's phone, and then she jumped out of Gwen's phone. "See digital monster."
"So what is your power, Chiaki? Is it just to summon an off-brand Pokémon?" Jubilee
"Call me a Pokémon again, and I will scratch you." Meicoomon hissed
"No, Meicoomon, bad. We don't hurt friends outside training and mind control situations. Um, my power, I don't really know how to describe it. The best way I can describe it is that I have an inventory that occasionally picks things up from other places… worlds. That's the best way I know how to describe it."
"Do you have anything else that this inventory has picked up?" Jubilee
"Well, this." I took out the sonic screwdriver. "A Sonic Screwdriver that I need more than 2 days to figure out how it works. The only thing I have found out about it so far is that it's really good at unlocking doors. I don't have anything else for now. Like, if I knew how to use this I might have been able to get out of the glue without using a summon card. But I have no real complaints with the outcome that encounter. Meicoomon is fluffing cute!" I was petting Meicoomon's fluffy fur. The purse was really helping me feel calm.
"So, Gwen, what was up with those wall climbing skills? You were like a spider." Jubilee
"I kinda got bitten by a spider and ended up with its wall climbing skills, among other powers that I can't control. So what about you, Jubilee? How did you conjure all those blasts of colored plasma?" Gwen
"I don't know. I panicked and just sort of went with the flow of what my body told me to do. I don't think I have really great control over the sparks." Jubilee said, holding hers together.
"Yeah, another reason we shouldn't just jump into the whole superhero thing. None of us has a good grasp on any of our powers. If we wanted to go full superheroes, I think we need to do a lot of training. We need to learn how our powers work and how to control them. We might want to put together suits to hide our identities. For now our best option is to lay low and train ourselves to a point where we can help people."
"Makes sense. Sounds tots like a plan." Jubilee
"It's starting to get late, I think we should head home. Jubilee, need a ride?" Gwen
"Yeah, if you wouldn't mind." Jubilee
"Well, I have to get to my car. This was fun, let's do it again sometime this summer. Hopefully, next time we won't have to deal with a criminal."
"Well, great meeting you, Chiaki. TTFN" Jubilee
"Talk to you later, Chi." Gwen then drove away.
I drove home in my car, and Meicoomon decided to relax in my iPhone. The stars were out when I got home. I took a quick look at my skills page.

I'm closest to maxing out the cooking skill. I should probably pick up the inventing skill I could help Gwen and Jubliee make combat suits. For now, until I get a few things to let me fight alongside them, I'm just going to the girl in the chair, or would chick in the chair sound better? I spent §1300 to get the three skill books on inventing. I was going to be spending a lot of my time at the library to max out my skills as fast as I could. But that could wait until tomorrow, for now I'm going to pass out on my bed.
-.-
"What am I looking at, Coulson?" Nick Furry asked
"The remains of Peter Petruski's Paste-Gun. The damage was caused by a plasma bolt that ruptured the tank and trapped Peter Petruski in his adhesive. Now the question is, who caused the plasma bolt?" Coulson
"Do we not have footage of the incident?" Furry
"What footage we have is so low quality that we can't tell any real details. Peter Petruski covered all the cameras in his paste, making any footage very unclear. What we can tell that Peter Petruski was stopped by three unknown assailants. We can't get any more details." Colson explained
"Well, put a pin in it to look closer into it later. For now, we are still looking for Tony Stark." Furry
"Should I have some of my agents look into it?" Coulson
"No. Fewer eyes on this, the better. I don't want this getting back to Senator Pierce." Furry
"Understood, sir." Coulson
