"Jackpot" said Leng Shi, as he and Lei Shi looked at a giant blood pool in the center of a research room on the eight-floor.
The blood pool was elevated, and it contained a pungent smelling blood that was moving in a circular motion, forming a vortex. At the center of this vortex was a hole that channeled the blood to a pipe which took it through a series of machines before dripping it into a ten-inch vial that was vertically indented in the wall at the left.
The dripping of the blood into the vial was very slow, at an almost negligible pace.
The blood that made it into the vial was of a very bright red color. It seemed the machines were meant to purify the blood flowing from the pool, leaving behind only its purest essence. The process seemed to be a very slow one. However, the good part was that the vial was as good as full, and the blood pool was almost empty. On the other hand, the bad part was that there were five people in the research room, three of whom were guards. They all seemed to be discussing something, and the other two, who were scientists, were trying to explain something.
"Here goes nothing" said Lei Shi as he and Leng Shi stepped into the research room like they owned it.
As soon as they passed through the research room's door, all five pairs of eyes were attracted to them. "Who are you" asked one of the guards fiercely.
"We were sent to report to the leader of this project" said Lei Shi with his and Leng Shi's footsteps never stopping.
"Halt there, report and leave" said the guard as he noticed that they didn't stop walking. What he found even odder was the fact that their superiors didn't send a message to them directly, and were instead using scientists.
"The boss said to tell him to stop this experiment, that it's too dangerous" Lei Shi continued spouting nonsense, unfettered. He then added "He also said to give this to the leader of the project".
Lei Shi unbuttoned his lab coat and stuck his hand into the inner pocket of the suit jacket he was wearing.
They had to wear the suit because that was what the job-seeking interns usually wore since they wanted to look more appealing to their potential employers.
"Wait a minute..." said the guard upon noticing that the distance between them had been closed during their short conversation, and he thought of the possibility that he may bring out a weapon from his inner pocket.
However, he didn't move to stop him because he didn't expect a boring scientist to actually have a weapon, not only have a weapon, but also have the guts to pull it out in front of him, a Rank 3 HTB suit wielder. Another reason he didn't move to tackle them was because he afraid they were one of those top tier scientists of the ninth-floor.
Lei Shi began pulling his hand out of his inner pocket to reveal its contents.
"POOF" suddenly, a cloud of black smoke was released from his body.
"BANG" "CRACKLE" "HONG"
A series of loud sounds rang out from the black smoke as soon as it blotted out everyone's vision.
After the smoke dispersed, all that was left were two terrified scientists, three corpses and the twins with their weapons in their hands.
"WOW, it's so cool bro. I feel like a god" said Leng Shi. He then added with stars in his eyes "What if we find the Legendary Rank 9 HTB suit that is capable of letting one piss without even needing to reach for his zipper?"
"At that point, we would be True gods" replied Lei Shi with a smirk, stars also appearing in his eyes after he thought of that scenario.
The scientists were even more terrified upon hearing their conversation, and feared the thought of these killing machines wielding Rank 9 HTB suits.
What actually happened when Lei Shi released that black smoke that blotted everyone's vision was that he pulled out his new Red and Black saber, that was able to shrink to a foot, from his pocket, and as it was elongating, he beheaded the startled unsuspecting guard who was giving them the fierce replies, simultaneously, he released a burst of Red electricity from his saber and body, which stunned the other two guards, thereby giving Leng Shi the chance to freeze them with his White ice, encasing them in White crystals. And not giving them a chance to break free from their restrictions, Leng Shi pulled out his White and Black saber, while Lei Shi didn't even wait for that guards body to fall to the ground, he spun his body, carrying on the momentum from beheading the guard, and together, they beheaded the other two guards, who from their struggle, had almost shattered the Ice crystals that they were encased in. The three guards were killed in just a few seconds.
"Hey, pieces of shit" said Leng Shi, startling the scientists out of their thoughts. He then grabbed the collar of one of them and lifted him up.
"What's this place, and what is that vial" asked Leng Shi as he held the scientist in the air, while pointing at the vial with his other hand.
The scientist began shouting in a threatening way "How dare you do this? Do you people want to d..." "Pow" Leng Shi directly slapped the scientist, cutting him off in the middle of his words.
"How dare..." "POW"
"Do you kn..." "POW"
"I swear..." "POW"
"Okay" "POW"
*Silence* the scientist didn't say anything.
*POW* another slap landed.
"Hey" "POW"
"Okay" "POW"
"I'll talk" "POW"
"I said I'll talk" "POW"
"Please, I'll talk" "POW"
*Silence* "POW"
"Wait. What did you say?" asked Leng Shi, startled. He truly was carried away, and had not heard the scientist say that he was willing to talk.
"Please stop. I said I'll talk" said the scientist who now had a black eye, a broken nose, and a swollen pig face.
"Okay... Good" said Leng Shi embarrassedly. He then looked at the second scientist who was now frightened to the point of almost pissing himself, and said "You, talk. I think this guy's jaw is hurting him". Leng Shi could only do this in an attempt to cover up his mistake, and make it seem as though he wanted it to be the second scientist that will be the one to speak right from the start.
The second scientist didn't tarry in his reply, and hastily spilled the beans "This is Acme Research Company's Project 88, its main objective is to purify and concentrate." he paused, seeming to be unwilling to continue. But as he saw Leng Shi drop the first scientist and take a step towards him, he threw all cautions to the wind and said all he knew, because to him, it was better to spill the beans and probably die later, than seal his lips and certainly die now.
"Besides" he told himself "The other scientist already said that he was willing to talk, so there's no point in me needlessly receiving slaps. We will share the punishment, if there ever is one".
The second scientist continued speaking "It's meant to purify and concentrate the blood of the Invader Beasts".
"What the actual fuck?" Leng Shi and Lei Shi were dumbfounded by the revelation.
"I'm listening" Lei Shi said, paying closer attention.
The second scientist inhaled deeply, exhaled, and then spoke "The blood of the Invaders was found to be full of energy and hyperactive blood cells. This in turn gave the Beasts immense power and vitality. However, that wasn't the only thing: it also contained special DNA strands that were considered primordial. These strands, when extracted and infused into the blood stream of earth's terrestrials, caused them to undergo advancements, No, evolution. This evolution transformed monkeys into Gorillas, doves into eagles, and cats into lions. And this was only when it was used in minute quantities. But when we tried it on a humans." he paused.
"Go on, don't be shy" Leng Shi urged.
The scientist inhaled deeply and exhaled again, then said "Simply put, Superman" he paused once more and continued "It didn't change their external features. However, it gave them improved strength, speed and sharpened senses. But when used in excess, it began to have side-effects such as making them hairy or fatter; in some cases it made them develop feather-like hairs, while the skin of some shed its hair and started to look scaly. But when we infused the same quantity of DNA strands that was further purified, there were no external side-effects, but the improvements on the inside were magnificent. Magnificent, in the sense that it improved the digestive system, poison immunity, and even made the human smarter. After some time, we got to find out that the higher the strength of a beast, the higher the quantity and quality of its DNA strands. That led to a fierce competition". The scientist then stopped, looked at the machines in the research room and said "And now, after thirteen years of hard work, we have been able to purify and concentrate all the blood of the Invader Beasts that Acme Company has been able to get its hands on. Imagine the colossal amount of blood that would have had to be gotten to fill that vial, when the ratio of the blood to the purified and concentrated DNA strand is 1,000,000 liters : 1 liter. Fuck, does that much blood even exist on earth? But the Beasts were huge to begin with, so in the end, we were able to get it, since there were great amounts of blood per Beast due to their size".
