"In the Spirit Ascension Platform, you can do anything you want — but your core mission is survival. The longer you survive, the more benefits you'll gain in the process."
"Second, don't assume it's absolutely safe in there. Even though it's just your brainwaves connecting, if you experience extreme shocks, it's possible your brainwaves could take serious damage. So, if you ever feel it's beyond what you can handle, press the emergency signal device immediately to exit the platform. Understand?"
"Understood!" Tang Wulin and the other five quickly replied.
As for Gu You, he didn't care at all. With his current strength, there was no opponent in the beginner-level Spirit Ascension Platform — unless he ventured deep into the Star Dou Forest area… which he actually planned to do. He wanted to test whether the world within his spiritual sea could absorb soul beasts in their pure soul-energy form. If it worked, Gu You could one day declare to the universe: his spiritual power would become the strongest in existence.
The staff member nodded. "The rest, you'll figure out inside. This is your first time entering, so you probably won't last too long, but it should leave a strong impression. Kids, prepare yourselves mentally. Remember — no matter what happens, don't panic. Soul beasts aren't so scary as long as you respond properly."
After the explanation, the five young boys and girls were visibly eager, especially Tang Wulin, who had just learned about the Spirit Ascension Platform and was excited beyond words.
'Brainwave connection? What will that feel like?' he wondered.
The staff pressed a button, and six metal pods slowly slid out from the wall. These horizontal, human-shaped recesses almost looked like coffins.
"Everyone, lie inside."
The six of them climbed in as instructed. The cold touch of the metal made them focus even more.
Mechanical clamps and sensors emerged from the walls and snugly locked onto various points on their bodies.
"We're about to start. Relax your entire body. During the scan, there may be a little discomfort — just endure it, and it'll pass."
That was the last thing they heard from the staff. The metal pods slowly slid back into the walls, and darkness swallowed their vision.
Gu You immediately felt a wave of intense tingling shoot through his entire body, as if something were constantly flowing through him. His soul power and bloodline were stirred, causing spontaneous fluctuations that left his limbs almost numb. Compared to his first time entering, this sensation was far stronger — so this was the difference between good machines and mediocre ones.
But this kind of discomfort didn't affect Gu You much; if anything, it made him feel drowsy.
He didn't know how long had passed when suddenly, his body jolted violently. He snapped awake from his half-dreaming state — and realized his surroundings were now brightly lit.
The metal pod was gone. The tingling had vanished, but on the back of his hand, a metallic device had appeared with a prominent red button.
The emergency signaler.
Gu You took a deep breath. The dense life energy in the air was incredibly refreshing — raw, pure, without the slightest impurity.
With humanity's development, environments like this original, untouched forest had become increasingly rare. It was said that the once-mighty Star Dou Forest now occupied less than one percent of its original area.
Around him stood towering ancient trees, thick shrubs filling the spaces in between — no paths at all.
'But as a great man once said: walk enough times, and you make a path.'
Gu You smirked. He'd stick to that wisdom.
Releasing his martial soul, he raised his dragon claws — and began slashing a way forward!

Spirit Transferring Tower, Beginner Spirit Ascension Platform, Zone 5.
"What's he doing?" Long Hengxu pointed at the screen showing Tang Wulin, who was sitting on the ground with his eyes closed, leaning comfortably against a tree. The corner of Long Hengxu's mouth twitched.
'Isn't that kid… sleeping?! This is such a rare chance to train inside the Spirit Ascension Platform, and he's napping?'
Wu Zhangkong spoke coolly. "He seems to be sensing something. Don't forget, his martial soul is Blue Silver Grass. In the real world, it's rare to find such a lush patch of blue silver grass anymore. He's probably trying to connect with it — look, he's releasing his martial soul through his palm."
Long Hengxu nodded thoughtfully. Still, his real focus was on Gu You. 'This legendary prodigy — a boy who fought evil soul masters alongside the military — what exactly is he capable of?'
---
Gu You wasn't interested in spirit ascension for his spirit rings here. With the beginner-level platform's energy, there was no way it could elevate a ten-thousand-year ring. Even if it depended on the number of beasts he killed, who knew how long that would take?
The original lore hadn't fully explained the Spirit Ascension Platform, but logically, if there were beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, then the soul beast levels should rise accordingly. But no matter the level, the platform's setting always centered on the ancient Star Dou Forest.
And the deeper one ventured, the stronger the beasts should get.
'In that case,' Gu You thought, 'if I trek all the way to the depths of the Star Dou Forest from the beginner platform, could I run into a hundred-thousand-year beast?'
Leaping up to the top of a tall tree, Gu You scanned the dense canopy stretching in every direction. 'Dammit, everything looks the same! How am I supposed to tell where the outer, middle, and core zones are without a map? I don't even know where I am!'
"Tch!" Gu You clicked his tongue. "This damn Spirit Transferring Tower — why not include a map? Show where the bosses spawn, where the level ranges are — now that would be perfect!" he muttered up at the sky.
Not only did the staff watching him freeze in confusion, but even Wu Zhangkong and Long Hengxu twitched slightly. 'This kid… he's like a total newbie… no, wait.'
One staff member cleared his throat. "We'll make sure to report the child's feedback and do our best to meet the needs of every Spirit Ascension Platform user."
Long Hengxu chuckled. "Much appreciated."

Gu Yue wandered calmly through the dense forest, a slightly dazed look in her eyes. The lush trees, the fresh air — it all gave her a strange sense of nostalgia, as if she were reliving a distant memory.
'It's so beautiful… I really love this feeling,' she thought. But then she reminded herself it was all fake — and gave a small, self-deprecating smile.
The Spirit Ascension Platform, truly, was a miracle!
She kept walking deeper into the forest. Along the way, she encountered a few soul beasts, but they were weak, and she didn't kill them — instead, she let them go, simply enjoying the atmosphere. Her behavior left Long Hengxu and the staff outside baffled.
As she walked forward, the bushes ahead suddenly rustled. A moment later, a towering figure emerged into view.
It was a giant bear, three meters tall, covered in brownish-yellow fur, with massive paws and gleaming yellow eyes.
The moment it saw Gu Yue, it let out a roar and charged straight at her…
