Chapter 9 - The 151 Days

Early in the morning, Shrey woke up late.Stretching lazily, he stepped out with sleepy eyes.

As soon as his eyes fell on the sofa, they lit up seeing Diamond sitting there.Excitedly, he rushed over, picked up Diamond in his arms, kissed him lovingly, and said—

"I missed you so much, Heera-Chandi…"

Diamond began wriggling in his arms, flailing his tiny paws trying to get down.

Shrey laughed and said—"Oh come on, don't be so cold, Heera-Chandi! Come on, let me get you some biscuits…"

He gently placed Diamond on the floor and started walking towards the kitchen, calling him along.Diamond too, began hopping and running after him.

Shrey took out the biscuit jar and popped one into his own mouth.Diamond waited for a moment, hoping Shrey would offer him one too.But when he didn't, Diamond began scratching at his legs with his tiny paws.

It started to tickle, and Shrey burst into laughter."What are you doing, Heera-Chandi...? Want something?"

Diamond stared at him, and Shrey laughed even louder.Even though he was just a little pup, he seemed to understand everything.

Finally, Shrey fed him a biscuit with his own hands, which Diamond began nibbling on happily.

Just then, Prakhar entered the kitchen for something. He paused for a moment, surprised to see the two sitting so peacefully together — despite being sworn enemies. It was hard to digest.

As soon as Shrey saw Prakhar, he stood up and smiled."Good morning…"

But Prakhar didn't respond. He simply picked up Diamond and walked out without saying a word.

Shrey stood there stunned — he'd just been coldly ignored right to his face.

Pranay, who had been standing nearby and saw the whole thing, couldn't hold back his laughter."HAHAHA! Bro, your bad days have really begun!"

Shrey gritted his teeth and said,"Stop showing me your teeth, or I'll knock them all out and hand them to you!"

Pranay tried to stop laughing but failed miserably.Eventually, Shrey ran after him, and Pranay fled for his life.

As Pranay disappeared, Shrey muttered through clenched teeth,"You ignored me, Prakhar Joshi? Just watch… see what Shrey Thakur does now.If I don't make you chew iron with your bare teeth, I'm not my father's son!"

Tossing his hair back dramatically, he stormed off toward his room.

Meanwhile, Prakhar took Diamond to the nearby bakery.A teasing voice called out—

"Oho! What's the special occasion today? All dressed up like a prince, are we, General?"

The comment wasn't wrong.

Prakhar was wearing black today — and his serious aura, calm face, and quiet confidence made his entire personality radiate power.

Placing Diamond on the ground, he told the shopkeeper,"Take care of him for the day… I'll pick him up in the evening."

The shopkeeper smiled and said,"What, Shrey babu isn't home today?"

Prakhar shot him a glare.

But the easygoing shopkeeper just laughed —He wasn't scared of Prakhar's glares in the slightest.

Seeing Prakhar leave, Diamond started running after him.The shopkeeper tried to stop him, but Diamond wouldn't stay.

Prakhar picked him up again and said,"Stay here just for today… I can't take you with me."

Diamond began scratching his clothes with his little claws and barked loudly. He clearly didn't like being left behind.

Prakhar sighed deeply, gave him a sweet kiss on the forehead, then touched his nose to Diamond's and whispered,"If it wasn't important, I wouldn't go… please, be a good boy."

The shopkeeper couldn't help but comment dramatically—"Sigh! If someone talked to me that sweetly, I'd go crazy too!"

Diamond finally stopped barking, and Prakhar gently set him down and walked out with a deep breath.

Shrey took a shower and got ready to leave for college. He also had volleyball practice. He wore a white T-shirt with a black collar and loose black pants — looking quite cute.

He and Pranay reached college together, but their classes were in different buildings, so they parted ways. After class, as Shrey was about to leave, a voice called out, "Hey, cute boy…"

He ignored it at first, assuming it was for someone else.

But as he walked forward, someone grabbed his shoulder.Just as he turned, he felt someone's warm breath on his shoulder. His eyes widened, and he quickly spun around —A smart-looking guy was smiling behind him.

"You… Who are you?" Shrey asked, taking a step back, feeling awkward at the stranger's closeness.

"Kuvar… People call me Kuvar Sa," the guy introduced himself.

"What? What kind of name is that? Are you some kind of prince or something?" Shrey asked, surprised.

Kuvar smiled, thinking to himself —"So you're the one my heart chose… I must admit, you're quite a masterpiece…How could anyone not fall for you… such a cute little rabbit… God, I just want to pinch those cheeks…"

"Hello? Cat got your tongue?" Shrey waved a hand in front of his face.

"It's a tragic story, my friend…" Kuvar said with a pout.

"Really? What happened?" Shrey asked, now genuinely curious.

"My mom always wanted to marry a king, so that her child could be called 'Kuvar Sa'…But she ended up marrying a daily wage laborer, and her dreams were crushed. Then I was born, and her dreams were reborn. So she named me 'Kuvar Sa.'"

"So sad…" Shrey nodded seriously, visibly disappointed, while Kuvar barely managed to hold in his laughter. He couldn't believe Shrey had believed every word of that ridiculous story.
