After placing a lock of Sasuke's hair into a scroll, Yun opened the hidden compartment beneath his bed and stored it away.
Inside were now two scrolls. One contained three-quarters of Obito's severed arm, usable as a medium for both Hashirama and Obito. As for Sasuke's hair, that would need to wait for the right time to see if it worked.
But at this stage, making any deals with Sasuke was impossible. The kid was barely over a year old, what could he possibly understand? He couldn't even speak clearly yet. Talking to him would be like playing music to a cow.
And it wasn't even certain whether Indra's chakra had awakened in him yet. The Sage of Six Paths never said when it appeared, maybe it followed the cycle of reincarnation?
Clack.
Yun softly closed the hidden compartment and sat on the bed, thinking about the hand seals for Wood Release.
After mulling it over, it struck him, Hashirama never seemed to use many hand seals. Just clapping his hands together formed a single seal, and boom, the technique activated. Both Hashirama and Madara were like that.
It was said that the art of sealing came from Indra, who discovered that hand seals could guide chakra. But did Indra and Asura even need to use them?
The Sage of Six Paths definitely didn't, Hashirama could perform any Wood Release with just the "Ram" seal. Except when sealing the Nine-Tails, which required proper sequences.
Madara's Great Fire Annihilation was the same. Though summoning the Nine-Tails did require them.
Even in Part One, when Tobirama's Edo Tensei body used Water Wall and Water Bullet, it only needed a single seal.
So basically… there's no logic to it?
Yun scratched his head. His shadow clone,Ku, had been practicing chakra nature transformations with water and earth. Once Wood Release actually manifested, techniques like Deep Forest Emergence would become essential.
The Sealing Scroll in the Hokage building wasn't easy to obtain either, and Yun needed to maintain his current identity. Blowing his cover over a few Wood Release jutsu wouldn't be worth it.
So in the end… looks like he'd have to develop them himself.
The next morning, Izumi looked at her brother, who was heading to school with her, and blinked in surprise.
"Not a shadow clone?"
Yun gave her a helpless smile. "Things got a bit messy yesterday. I didn't feel safe just sending a clone."
Whether it was "messy" or not didn't really matter, what mattered was that Yun realized his clone didn't hold back at all. A bit of provocation, and it went beat down the entire upperclass.
Just fought them yesterday, probably more fallout today.
What if a couple of Chūnin or Jōnin showed up today and the shadow clone beat them too?
Then what? He'd have to graduate early with Itachi? How was he supposed to lay low after that?
Being a student at the academy wasn't bad at all, let the clone do the studying, and he'd enjoy grilled meat. Laze around under the Hokage Rock, practice a few jutsu, live the comfy life.
Why rush into being a Genin, chasing cats, cleaning sewers, picking up trash downstream of the river. It was ridiculous.
When he entered the classroom, Yun glanced around and walked over to Itachi.
"Still a shadow clone?"
Itachi nodded. "The real body's out training. There's nothing worth learning here anyway."
Yun patted his shoulder and chuckled. "Then you're probably going to get beaten up again today."
Leaving Itachi confused by that ominous remark, Yun walked over to Tokuma and Hana. He never sat with Itachi in class, way too much unwanted attention.
No sooner had he sat down than Inuzuka Hana leaned over and asked, "So, is it the real you today or another clone? That trick of yours is genius. I want to stay home and play with my dog too, but my mom won't teach me."
"Real body today," Yun replied, then asked, "You have a little brother, right? Inuzuka Kiba?"
Hana froze, face turning red. "Why are you investigating my family? My brother's just over a year old… it's not like he matters…"
"Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not interested in you. Uh… or your brother."
That nearly sent Hana into a rage. If Tokuma hadn't stopped her, Yun would've had to bolt.
It was just a passing thought, he figured it'd be funny if his butterfly effect wiped out a few of the future Twelve. Wouldn't that be interesting?
After she calmed down, Hana decided she'd ignore Yun for three days.
Tokuma nudged Yun with an eye roll. "Hana's actually cute, you know. But hey, why'd you show up in person today?"
Yun exhaled dramatically. "After yesterday's massacre? If a shadow clone handled today's fallout, it might demolish the entire academy."
Tokuma paused, then laughed. "If you really destroyed the school, I'd give you my entire month's allowance, at least we'd get two months off."
Heh… wishful thinking.
Because the Fourth Hokage was still alive, at this point, Yamato had already joined Kakashi's Anbu squad.
Three-room-one-hall jutsu, huh? Now that's what you call infrastructure speed.
The day passed peacefully. Yun spent most of his time under his desk slicing leaves.
At dismissal, four Genin blocked the gates.
"Big bro, that's him!"
Crap!
Yun quickly dodged to the side. The clone Itachi, who was just about to go home, was the one they cornered.
After a flurry of kicks and punches, Itachi's shadow clone dispersed in a puff of smoke. One of them looked familiar… wasn't that Tenma's older brother?
From memory, Tenma was supposed to graduate in the same class as Itachi. And his teammate afterward, Shinko, was the reason Itachi awakened his second tomoe.
No wonder Tenma didn't like Itachi…
"Shadow Clone?"
"There's another Uchiha, don't let him escape!"
"These new kids are too cocky. He beat up my brother, starting today, I'll be waiting here after every mission!"
"Big bro, you're so cool!"
Looking at the seven or eight people approaching him, Yun sighed. Truly, ignorance is fearlessness.
Commoner ninja trying to ambush someone from one of Konoha's top clans? That was like those fools who dared lay a hand on Hinata in the original timeline. Kids didn't think in terms of consequences, they just fought.
"You! You're the one who beat up my brother?"
Before the sentence finished, a chill touched the man's neck, Yun had vanished from sight.
Clink, clink…
Four forehead protectors clattered to the ground as Yun casually tossed them aside, a kunai now resting on the ringleader's neck.
The Uchiha you beat was a shadow clone, a tangible entity, unlike basic replication jutsu."
"And what I just used… was pure speed. I snatched your forehead protectors while moving, and captured you. So, do you still think you can block me here every day?"
Yun lowered the kunai and tossed their protectors back.
"Yesterday I fought students who hadn't even become ninja. But you guys are different. Once you're a shinobi, you have to accept the possibility of dying at any time."
Watching Yun disappear from sight, the four stunned Genin finally exhaled.
"That was a shadow clone? No way…"
"And that speed… He's a total monster, just enrolled and already this strong?"
"Phew…"
From a distance, Yun let out a breath. He'd nearly gone overboard again, would've ended up like the clone.
Still, he needed a few more years to chill.
Fire jutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu, shadow clones, he had Shisui as a reference for all of it. Once he got his Mangekyō… then he could truly begin.
