Chapter 47 - Chapter 46: Heart Against Order

šŸ“˜ Chapter 46: Heart Against Order

---

The core crystal was burning from within—like a star seconds before going supernova.

At the center of it all stood Ben, his body heavy with exhaustion, yet his eyes gleamed with an unprecedented resolve.

The watch on his wrist pulsed with blue and white light, as if on the verge of detonation.

Kairos, in his towering, crystalline form, hovered above him. His voice echoed across the dimension like thunder through the void:

> "You still resist? After everything… you still believe in choice?"

Ben took a step forward. The crystal sands cracked beneath his feet. He replied:

> "Choice isn't weakness. You see it as chaos… but I see it as life."

Kairos extended a hand, almost gently:

> "If we merge, we can rebuild reality. My universe would be balanced—no pain, no loss. The multiverse would heal… and endure."

Ben's voice was calm but resolute:

> "But they wouldn't be free. They wouldn't be themselves. They'd just be calibrated to fit your mold."

Kairos was silent for a moment before saying:

> "You don't understand… I was born from you."

Ben gave a bitter smile:

> "Maybe you came from me… but I'm not you. I'm flesh, blood… pain. And that's what makes me stronger than you."

---

šŸ“Œ (Watchtower – Command Room)

Batman stood at the interdimensional control panel he'd built with Azmuth's help. A unified telepathic frequency connected every hero still standing.

Ben's voice suddenly filled their minds:

> "I know you'll try to stop me… but time's run out."

Gwen cried out over the mental link:

> "Ben, no! There has to be another way!"

Grandpa Max, voice trembling with emotion, said:

> "I'm proud of you, son… but don't let that pride become goodbye."

Kevin's voice cut in—angry, desperate:

> "You're not alone, Ben! You don't have to die to save everyone!"

Ben answered, calmly, almost peacefully:

> "I'm not dying… I'm becoming.

I'll become choice.

I'll become a symbol.

I'll become a new beginning."

šŸ“Œ (Inside the Core Crystal)

Kairos raised his hand and unleashed a devastating blast of crystalline energy.

Ben focused—the watch surged and reflected the attack with a blinding counterflash, shattering the platform beneath their feet.

Ben fell, panting.

Kairos towered over him, his eyes glowing with unstable power.

> "You're wasting your potential… for feelings? For a fragile concept like humanity?"

Ben pushed himself up slowly, gaze unwavering:

> "I've lost friends… I've seen worlds crumble.

Every time, I could've given up. But I didn't.

Not because of strength—because I chose to keep going."

He paused, then whispered:

> "This watch? It was made from my will.

And it won't betray me now."

Kairos roared and charged again—

But Ben slammed the core of the watch.

Suddenly, time stopped.

---

šŸ“Œ (Inside the frozen moment – beyond time)

A radiant aura formed around Ben, and within it… faces.

Gwen. Kevin. Grandpa Max. Supergirl…

Children from other worlds he had saved…

They all looked at him, silently saying, "There's still hope."

Ben's inner voice echoed:

> "I'm not afraid of dying.

I'm afraid of leaving the world without a chance to choose."

---

šŸ“Œ (Outside the Core)

Supergirl clutched the frequency device, screaming:

> "Ben! Answer me! Where are you?!"

Batman's voice came through:

> "His signal is locked. He's at the very center."

Then… the crystal walls began to glow white—

A color no one had ever seen before.

It was the final sign.

šŸ“Œ (Final Confrontation – Inside the Core)

Time resumed.

Ben stood alone before Kairos, who now seemed… shaken.

> "If you do this," Kairos warned,

"You will vanish. You will not even be a memory."

Ben stepped forward, eyes wet but smiling:

> "But I'll leave behind a light.

And people follow the light."

He raised his hand toward the crystal's center—

But didn't activate the sequence yet.

He looked up:

> "Let me say goodbye… even if they can't hear me."

---

šŸ“Œ (Across the Other Dimension – The Heroes)

Everyone fell silent.

Then a whisper echoed across the telepathic link.

Not meant for anyone specific—meant for everyone who ever knew him:

> "I chose to be."
