Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

"This is my wife, Mikoto," Fugaku said once they stepped inside, leading him toward the heart of the home. In the kitchen stood a beautiful woman with long black hair, her movements graceful and practiced.

Sinbad greeted her with a small, polite smile and a nod of acknowledgment. Mikoto returned the gesture with a respectful bow, her expression calm and welcoming.

"These two here are our sons. Itachi, and the little one is Sasuke," Fugaku said, gesturing toward the young boy holding a baby in his arms. Itachi stood tall for his age, calm and composed as he carefully supported his infant brother.

Sinbad nodded toward Itachi with a friendly smile. In return, Itachi gave a respectful bow, his manners already refined despite his youth.

"I thought for a moment you had two daughters," Sinbad said with a light smile, keeping his tone casual as he followed Fugaku further into the house. They soon arrived where the food was being served.

Sinbad wasn't exactly used to the custom of sitting on the ground to eat, but it didn't take long for him to adapt. With a single thought, he adjusted comfortably into the position and mastered the use of chopsticks as if it had always been second nature.

"Well… in truth, Itachi is my daughter. But as the next heir to the Uchiha clan, she's a male," Fugaku said, his voice steady as he watched Sinbad closely, clearly gauging his reaction.

"Oh…" Sinbad muttered, momentarily speechless. The last time he checked, Itachi was definitely male. But clearly, this wasn't the main timeline of Naruto—things were already taking a different shape.

Still, Sinbad said nothing more about it. He simply accepted it and joined the family meal. It wasn't long before he began to pick up a few things. For example, he learned that Itachi was scheduled to join the ninja academy next year. Of course, Sinbad already knew that the academy would end up being destroyed before then, an event that would delay her entrance by an entire year.

"Where are you from? Are you married?" Mikoto asked with polite curiosity, her tone gentle yet direct. Fugaku frowned slightly at the question. He had intentionally avoided asking anything that might touch a nerve—personal matters were a tricky area with someone like Sinbad.

"I'm from a faraway place… I'm divorced, but that topic is too messy," Sinbad replied, his tone light, brushing the matter aside. "Today I died, and I came back to life, so I decided to travel the world and grow stronger. You wouldn't believe that just a few hours ago, I was as weak as a normal human." He gave a quiet laugh, the corners of his mouth lifting in amusement.

Fugaku was left stunned, the weight of those words leaving him questioning reality. "That's hard to believe," Fugaku said in shock, clearly taken aback by the sheer absurdity of Sinbad's claim. But Sinbad only nodded lightly, as if it were the most normal thing in the world.

"Yeah… well, thanks for the meal," he said, setting his bowl of rice aside with care. "You all welcomed me into your home and treated me to a meal… so, in return, I welcome you all to my place—one of the next seven days before I leave. I'll treat you to a meal."

He gave Mikoto a respectful nod of thanks, his voice calm but genuine.

"I look forward to it," Fugaku said with a light smile. Sinbad returned the smile with a nod before rising to his feet, prompting Fugaku to quickly stand as well and walk him back to the mansion.

Once home, Sinbad moved through the quiet halls and got ready for bed. As he lay down, his thoughts drifted back to his conversation with the Sage of Six Paths, the words still echoing in his mind.

'Fear…' he mused, staring at the ceiling. Memories flickered behind his eyes—memories of how his life unraveled, not through violence, but through lies, greed, and lust. The world didn't need more forgiveness… it needed something to fear.

And God? God was too forgiving… But Sinbad wasn't… He was human.

The next day arrived quietly. Sinbad rose early, stepping out into the garden where he took his time working on the plants, letting the morning air clear his mind. He used the simple labor as a moment to gather his thoughts, to ground himself and reflect on what his next goal should be.

He was aware of the shinobi watching from the shadows, but he didn't bother acknowledging them. As long as they stayed out of his way, they could keep spying all they liked. It meant little to him.

'Justice…' Sinbad thought, his gaze settling on a half-dead plant struggling in the soil. He knelt beside it, brushing away the dry leaves. So many people in the world—innocent people—walked through life without ever feeling like justice was on their side. How could those who did wrong continue to win? Why did it feel like the villains had the upper hand in reality?

Sure, the stories spoke of a final judgment, a good ending in the distant end times. But wasn't that too far away for most? How about those who wouldn't make it into the gates of heaven, a cruel life, and a sadder afterlife?

With all this power, how could he forget the past? The memory of crying out for help, only to be left unheard, still clung to him. It echoed in the corners of his mind, a reminder of the pain that had once shaped him. Now, standing on the other side of weakness, how could he turn his back on that version of himself?

A goal began to take shape within Sinbad's thoughts—not one rooted in this world, but in his original one. Whatever path lay ahead, it would start there, where his suffering had once been ignored. He would return, and he would not come back the same.

[24 hours are up. The host has gained 100 new abilities. They are listed below:

Upside Down: Walk-on-the-ceiling skill

Super Counting: Count-to-infinity skill

Transgender: A transgender skill

Rapid Heal: Heal ten times faster than a normal human skill…]

Sinbad scanned through the list of skills he had received. As expected, most were useless gimmicks or minor tricks that could easily be replicated through ninjutsu. There wasn't much to be excited about. With the strength he currently held, it was clear the system struggled to provide anything meaningful. So, seeing that out of a hundred new abilities, only one stood out didn't come as a surprise.

[Sleepless] — No need for sleep.

It was convenient, sure. Never needing to rest meant more time to train, plan, and act. But at the same time, it made one thing painfully clear: even with a hundred abilities each day, his goals would never become a reality. If this was the quality of his rewards now, then he had to admit—he still needed to find other means to grow stronger. This alone wouldn't be enough.

'I believe I've gathered everything this shinobi world has to offer… well, I could still become the Ten Tails' jinchūriki,' Sinbad thought, giving the idea some consideration. His eyes scanned over the list of new skills once more, but just like before, each one came with its own frustrating limitations.

Take [Transgender], for example—it allowed him to change his gender at will, but if he became female, he wouldn't be able to give birth.

Then there was [Super Counter]—the power to count to infinity. It sounded impressive until he realized it would take an infinite amount of time to do it.

The rest followed the same pattern: flawed, or simply redundant given what he could already accomplish through chakra and ninjutsu.

Still, Sinbad wasn't discouraged. If anything, it reminded him of the larger picture. With an infinite number of skills at his disposal, imperfections didn't matter. For every flaw, there would eventually come another ability that could patch it. A counter for every weakness. It was only a matter of time.

Sighing, Sinbad turned back to the garden, brushing a hand through his hair as he refocused his thoughts. He still had six days left—six more chances to refine his plans and, with luck, gain another skill that could accelerate his growth.

That night, however, marked a turning point. It was the night Obito made his move.

Minato had prepared well, taking Sinbad's words seriously. The village had deployed numerous shinobi to stand guard as Kushina went into labor, shielding her with layers of protection. But they underestimated Obito—no one knew the full extent of his abilities.

He slipped through their defenses without so much as a ripple, moving like a phantom in the dark.

Even with all the information Sinbad had provided, Obito managed to catch them off guard. Using Naruto as a hostage, he captured Kushina, slipping away before anyone could react.

But Minato was ready for that. He had placed a Flying Raijin seal on Kushina in advance, allowing him to teleport directly to her the moment she was taken. With the full might of the Hidden Leaf supporting him, a battle broke out immediately. Obito, realizing he had lost the element of surprise, shifted tactics. Rather than pressing forward, he focused on retreat. Minato's swift arrival had come just in time to prevent the Nine Tails from breaking free… or so they thought.

Then came the roar.

A monstrous statue erupted into view, its presence shaking the air itself as it let out a guttural bellow that echoed across the village. The sudden shift left even the most seasoned shinobi stunned.

You thought Obito would simply accept the extra layers of security? As if he didn't notice how well-prepared the Hidden Leaf was? No—he had come with backup of his own.

And where was Sinbad during all of this? Sleeping.

That is, until the sheer chaos tore through the quiet of the night. The Nine Tails—and now a giant statue—had been unleashed. Their combined roars shook the village to its core, snapping Sinbad awake as the sky lit up with battle.

"What a pain," Sinbad muttered as he stared at the massive boulder that had come crashing through the roof of his home, tearing through wood and stone with ease. Dust still hung in the air, and chunks of debris were scattered across the floor. He let out a long sigh, brushing some rubble off his shoulder.

He turned at the sound of rapid footsteps, just in time to see Itachi sprinting toward him, his expression tense. Mikoto followed close behind, her eyes wide with worry.

"Father told us to come to you when trouble breaks out in the village…" Itachi said uneasily, his voice tight as he glanced around at the damage. His eyes lingered on Sinbad, unsure of whether he felt safer or more concerned being here.

"Welcome. I would be rude to reject a guest. Welcome to my home," Sinbad said with a faint smile, his voice calm despite the tension in the air. Without another word, he gently floated into the sky, rising above the damaged home before gliding forward, heading straight toward the chaos unfolding across the village.

As he flew, his eyes seemed to sharpen, glowing faintly as he tapped into his power. The cries of the Hidden Leaf reached him. Pain echoed like a chorus in his mind, each scream and sob painting a clearer picture of the destruction.

"Mom! Please, wake up!" a child's voice rang out inside his mind, raw and filled with anguish. It was the sound of a soul breaking, a desperate plea for a mother who could no longer answer.

"My child! Please, someone, help me! My baby!" came the raw, trembling voice of a mother, her cries piercing through the noise of destruction. She could do nothing but scream as the life she brought into the world was torn away before her eyes.

More screams echoed through Sinbad's mind, each one layering over the last in a haunting symphony. Spouses wept over the bodies of those they once held close, their sobs thick with grief. Others, on the verge of death, called out desperately for help, their voices choked with pain and fear. Even the cries of babies rang out—small, helpless wails full of agony, echoing from beneath the rubble and smoke.

"Why? Why would anyone do such things? Is it because they have nothing to fear? Do they wrong others because they believe there's no consequence waiting for them?" Sinbad asked lightly, his voice calm yet laced with quiet anger as he walked through the air, unmoved by the chaos below. He stopped mid-step, hovering before the 9 Tails and the Gedo Statue, both of which now stood frozen, their rampage halted by a force far beyond their comprehension.

"Evil thrives because it has nothing to fear… but I will change that. I will give this world something to fear," he said, his gaze steady and cold. "For every eye, a life. For every tooth, a life. And for every life taken unjustly, a reckoning that shall echo endlessly. But not yet. The time isn't now. Not until I gain the power to open the eyes of the world. Only then will evil tremble and vanish from the light of day."
