Chapter 10 - CHAPTER 10

No one knows how someone's wounds are knitted. Sometimes they are so good at hiding it with a smile as if nothing happened.

However, inside, there is a gaping wound that not everyone can see. Every person's sadness is different, and one cannot feel it before being in the same position.

It's different with Kalina, even though she has never experienced life like Kanaya, she can understand.

Is it possible that because she is currently occupying her body, those painful events are imagined? What Adrian said is depicted, like a movie being played in fast forward.

Kalina still closes her eyes, focusing on the memories that suddenly come and go. They are not hers, of course, but they have real pain.

"Does she... look happy with his marriage?" Kalina asked, opening her voice while showing her beautiful eyes again.

Adrian was stunned as if he had received a sacred question. "She?" he was confused.

"I mean... do I look happy with this marriage? Does Zaki look like he loves me?" she said correcting him.

Adrian nodded in understanding, drawing awareness to the new question he had heard. She dug up memories of her close friend when she was with Zaki for almost four years.

"As I said before... The Young Lady did look happy, that was at the beginning of the marriage, but somehow lately... The Young Lady is not enthusiastic about living in a household with him. It seems... tortured," said Adrian, ending with a murmur on the last word.

"It's very unfortunate, The Young Lady has also attempted suicide twice. Also when the accident happened, not long after the young lady committed suicide again," said Adrian very surprisingly.

"Now, what happened to your neck, Young Lady? Did someone grab it?" asked Adrian surprisingly when all this time his attention had not left the exposed neck of the young lady.

Instantly Kalina jerked, rubbing her hand slowly then smiled awkwardly, without answering the question.

Adrian who understood also swallowed back the previous question.

"If Young Lady still doesn't want to say it, that's okay. I hope Young Lady is always okay and doesn't attempt suicide again," said Adrian, surprisingly.

Like a soccer ball, the memories that had come in succession had been rolling here and there. Kalina was helpless, Kanaya had to face such a complicated test.

What made her decide to try to commit suicide? Does this have something to do with Zaki? How badly did that man affect Kanaya's life? Kalina thought, wanting to find out.

The afternoon breeze blew, welcoming two people sharing a dark story about someone. No one knows how fate works, its presence can bring sorrow or joy.

The mystery whose whereabouts are unknown brings disaster, and Kalina realizes that happiness does not always surround a person's life.

"Is this proof? I attempted suicide?" Kalina lifted her left sleeve revealing a plaster covering the cut there.

Adrian turned to her again, nodding when he found a hidden wound. His memory shifted to that day when Kanaya was found covered in blood in the bathroom.

Adrian's suspicions about the wounds he saw on Kanaya's body led to a meeting point.

Right on Kanaya's twenty-eighth birthday, it wasn't a lavish party she received, but an attempted suicide.

Throughout that day, Kanaya was nowhere to be seen. Adrian was very anxious and worried that something would happen, considering that Zaki had left the house since morning.

Not wanting anything to happen to Kanaya, Adrian dared to visit his best friend's room. Even though they had been close to each other, he had never disturbed or been curious about her personal life.

He knocked on Kanaya's door several times while calling her name, but the owner didn't even pay attention.

Afraid that something would happen, Adrian broke down the door of the lady's room and looked for Kanaya. How shocked he was when he found his best friend, leaning helplessly in the bathtub, with blood dripping from her wrist.

The water filling the bathtub was pale red, Adrian was very scared and rushed Kanaya to the hospital.

After that, he contacted Zaki to tell him that Kanaya was in the hospital. Who knows what his best friend's husband was thinking, there was no sadness on his face when he saw his wife limp.

Zaki only said, "Kanaya is tired of living, this is the second time she has done that," coldly.

Adrian sniffed out suspicion, the possibility that Kanaya was determined to do that had something to do with Zaki.

Before getting married, Kanaya's days were fine, with her parents she enjoyed a time full of enthusiasm and enthusiasm.

As time went by, Kanaya's attitude showed a change. She was no longer enthusiastic about practicing archery, nor did she talk to Adrian, preferring to lock herself in her room.

"Remembering that incident again, I speculate that Mr. Zaki most likely had something to do with the suicide attempt," Adrian continued telling most of Kanaya's life.

Kalina had to swallow the bitter pill over and over again about the truth about Kanaya. The life of a beautiful woman whose body was being taken over turned out to be very severe.

"I am sorry for the incidents that befell Kanaya. I-"

Kalina realized when a pair of beads next to her glowed, staring intently as if asking a big question.

Kalina forgot again and again that she was now occupying someone else's body. Maybe her attitude, behavior, and nature would be much different. Where this must have confused the people closest to Kanaya, including Adrian.

"Is it true that you have lost your memory, Young Lady?" Adrian deliberately stopped his own words inviting Kalina's doubts.

"Have I been found out? No wonder, the closest people must know Kanaya well. It doesn't matter, she lost her memory or... not," Kalina thought fearfully.

"If Young Lady lost her memory, I... am very grateful. Because Young Lady has forgotten the painful incident so that... Young Lady is not in pain anymore," Adrian continued.

Kalina was stunned, so sincere and genuine kindness radiated from this man. She was happy to be able to find someone who cared again.

So far, Kalina never got that chance. Her parents left her, let alone other people. They sometimes treated her like trash and pests.

There was nothing Kalina could do but nod and divert her attention elsewhere. She muttered again about how lucky Kanaya was that many people still cared about her, even though her life path was very winding.

Without them both realizing, from a distance of several meters, precisely behind one of the big trees, Zaki had been watching the two of them.

He didn't like seeing his wife with Adrian, a man he knew had been with Kanaya for a long time.

He snorted harshly then turned around when he realized there was no more interaction between them. His heart was irritated, full of annoyance.

"How can she remember that man? While her husband, not? What a shameless woman," he grumbled all the way.

His hands clenched tightly, anger visible on his face. Zaki didn't like Kanaya being close to other men, especially Adrian.
