“Your Highness!”
Apollonia was clutching a ledger and several ink-stained papers while her hands, clothes, and face were smudged with ink. Her hair was disheveled as if someone had tugged on it, and her lips were nearly bleeding from biting them too hard.
“You’ve arrived?” she asked the two knights in a hoarse voice, despite her usual polite demeanor towards those beneath her.
Gunther and Ryan were perplexed by the situation and asked,
“What’s happening here, Your Highness? Where is the viscount?”
“He’s in prison. I guess that means he’s still in the mansion,” Apollonia replied, staring at them blankly.
Confused, they pressed on, “Then who…?”
“Um… I was the one who gave the orders,” she started explaining.
Supposedly, she almost got abducted by bandits, but had escaped thanks to Syd, and had come to the viscount seeking help, guided by the residents here since she was unfamiliar with the area.
