Danny could feel a presence tailing him. His senses were heightened beyond that of a human. His beast clawed at the edge of control, itching to break free and confront whoever or whatever was stalking him. The engine of his supercar roared beneath him, eating up the asphalt as he pushed it past two hundred kilometers per hour. But even at that speed, the feeling of being pursued clung to him like a second skin.
Whoever dared follow him had better not lay a scratch on his car. That alone would be unforgivable.
He glanced at the rearview mirror, his jaw tightening as his eyes narrowed. Two massive werewolves were closing in, their strides effortlessly matching his velocity. His heart skipped, not from fear, but from rising irritation. He didn't know what they wanted, but one wrong move and there would be blood on the pavement. That's a promise.
Danny slammed on the brakes. Tires screeching as the car jerked to a stop, and he stepped out, calm on the surface but radiating quiet fury. His beast simmered just beneath the surface, tense, impatient.
The wolves halted a few feet away before shifting back into their human forms. Naked, they revealed themselves...Micha and Alan.
Danny didn't flinch. "What do you want?" His voice was low, dangerous, laced with authority.
Alan smirked, unconcerned by his bare skin. "Daniel. Aren't you even a little happy to see us?"
Danny's gaze swept over them with detached disapproval. "I was happy. I was on a date, which you both interrupted. Now, tell me why I shouldn't do to you what you did to that kid at the party."
The air tensed. Micha and Alan stiffened, their usual bravado faltering. Danny wasn't an Alpha, but he didn't need the title to make seasoned wolves hesitate. Power rolled off him in waves, tightly restrained but unmistakable.
Micha stepped forward, voice measured. "Relax. We're here on Asher's orders. He wants us to protect the girl you were with. Alisha. If you promise to let us do our job, we won't mention to him that she's your... girlfriend."
Danny's expression darkened, skepticism etched in every line of his face. "Alisha? What does Asher want with her? And why send you two? You can barely keep your beasts in check."
Alan bristled, but Micha raised a hand to quiet him. Danny's words cut deep, however, they weren't wrong.
"It's not our place to question the Alpha," Micha said. "We're just following orders."
Danny let out a sharp, humorless laugh. "Typical Asher. Always playing games. This is just another way to remind me who's in charge. Go back and tell him Alisha doesn't need your protection. She's under mine. Consider this a favor."
He turned to leave.
"Wait," Alan snapped. "For all we know, you might be the danger the Alpha warned us about. That's why we're telling you to stay away."
Danny stopped mid-step.
The beast inside him stirred, fangs bared. Rage unfurled slowly like smoke from a fire. He turned, eyes gleaming...not with anger, but a calm that was far more terrifying.
Alan and Micha instinctively took a step back.
"You're lucky I'm in a good mood tonight," Danny said, voice smooth and lethal. "Don't ever tell me what to do again."
Without another word, he climbed back into his car. The engine growled to life, and he sped off into the night, leaving them with silence and dust.
Micha turned toward Alan. "Do we tell Asher about this?"
Alan hesitated, watching the taillights disappear down the road. "I don't know. Maybe we let him handle it. If Danny's protective of her, he won't hurt her."
He paused, frowning. "But seriously… what's the Alpha's business with a human girl?"
They exchanged a long, uneasy glance.
Neither of them dared say it out loud, but the thought burned in both their minds.
What made this "Alisha" girl so important?

The golden rays of the morning sun filtered through the curtains, falling in soft slants across Alisha's face. She lay still, her expression peaceful and angelic.
Unbeknownst to her, a shadow stood near, silent and still. His gaze drank her in, flickers of longing and awe battling behind his eyes. Slowly, he reached out, his fingers brushing against her cheek with a touch so light it could have been a dream. He tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear, his every movement deliberate… reverent.
His beast stirred beneath the surface, restless and trembling with excitement.
'She's the one', the voices whispered in his head was insistent and undeniable.
Her scent flooded his senses. It wasn't just attraction. It was instinct. His pulse pounded in his ears as a shudder passed through him, half joy, half torment. She was driving him mad without even trying.
Alisha stirred.
Her lashes fluttered, a soft inhale parting her lips. The figure tensed, and in an instant, he was gone. The air shifted. By the time her eyes opened fully, the room was empty.
She sat up slowly, blinking away the remnants of sleep. Something felt… off. Her heart beat faster as her gaze swept the space. The hairs on her arms stood on edge.
'I could've sworn someone was here…'. She thought.
But nothing moved. Just the soft rustle of curtains in the morning breeze. Shaking off the eerie feeling, she turned to her nightstand, and her eyes widened as she saw the time.
"Damn it! I'm so late!" she yelped, bolting upright.
In a flurry of panic, she rushed into the bathroom, the strange sensation of being watched still lingering and unsettled, but buried beneath the rush of her morning chaos.
