Chapter 27 - Chapter 27

Genrou furrowed his brows, eyes fixed sharply on the Buggy before him.

There's no mistake. To dodge that punch of mine—this guy definitely used Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki)!

Good grief… Did I transmigrate into a fake version of the One Piece world?

Or is it that the Buggy in the original story was always hiding his true strength and playing the fool? Is he actually really strong?

Since earlier, Genrou had noticed something unusual about Buggy's performance.

Even though he had taken multiple hits from Luffy, Buggy didn't show any signs of being injured.

And one had to know, the current Luffy was completely different from the one in the original timeline.

While in Heroic Spirit mimicry state, Luffy's raw physical power was far above the original.

Not to mention, the attack just now had been Toriko's signature technique—Nail Punch.

"Hmph! Kid, I don't know what you're trying to do to me…"

"But this great Buggy-sama won't fall to some rookie like you."

"I'll let you win this time, but I'll definitely come back to settle the score."

Buggy snorted coldly, and his body began to disassemble before Genrou's eyes.

More precisely—split apart.

From his head, limbs, torso—Buggy's body kept dividing. One into two, two into four… Within moments, he had split into hundreds, even thousands of fragments, eventually dispersing into pieces so small they were invisible to the naked eye.

"…Damn! He can do that?!"

Genrou smacked his lips and quickly used Geppō (Moonwalk) to distance himself from the mass of disintegrated parts.

He really didn't want to accidentally inhale Buggy into his respiratory system.

So not only does he have Observation Haki, even his Devil Fruit ability is developed to this extent…

He's really not someone to be underestimated.

Forget it. I'll leave the Bara Bara no Mi (Chop-Chop Fruit) to him.

Genrou shook his head, quietly using Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki) to sense Buggy's scattered body drifting away in the wind.

Sure, Devil Fruits were rare and useful for strengthening his crew's Heroic Spirit templates…

But Buggy's strength clearly wasn't like the weakling in the original. Genrou had no intention of risking a full-on fight with someone who once sailed under the Pirate King, just for the Chop-Chop Fruit.

Who knew what Buggy's true strength really was?

Once he confirmed Buggy had drifted far enough, Genrou used Geppō to return to Luffy and the others.

And only after Genrou left did Buggy's body reassemble into its original form.

"An 800 million bounty… A dangerous guy like that, actually hanging around with the man Shanks picked."

"I wonder how Shanks would feel if he found out…"

"Whatever, none of this concerns me. I'd better get out of here."

Buggy muttered a few words and controlled his body to land on the other side of the town.

"Did it go smoothly, Genrou?"

Hearing the sound of Genrou descending through the air, Zoro turned his attention away from Luffy and Nami to ask.

"I gave up. That guy's kinda weird. Better not take his Devil Fruit."

"Come to think of it, that man was once recognized as a brother by one of the Yonko, Shanks."

"And since Luffy knows Shanks too… If we stole his fruit, we might end up in a weird position."

Genrou shrugged and turned to look at Luffy and Nami.

"So, what are they arguing about now, Zoro?"

"Luffy wants to leave the treasure you got from the Buggy Pirates with the town's mayor. But Nami wants to keep it. So they're fighting."

Zoro answered indifferently.

He did think Luffy was acting oddly, but since Luffy was the captain, Zoro didn't bother making a fuss.

"I see." Genrou nodded slightly, then took the suitcase from Zoro and pulled out a pair of earrings that gleamed with a dazzling light.

"Nami, these earrings are for you. As for the Berries, let Luffy decide."

"Earrings?" Nami turned her head, and the moment she saw the earrings in Genrou's hand, she lunged forward and tightly grabbed his arm.

As if afraid Genrou would take them back.

Just by looking at the gemstones on them, Nami knew they were worth a fortune.

"Hehe, thank you, Genrou! You're such a good guy!"

"And thank you, Nami, for giving me another 'good guy' card."

Genrou chuckled indifferently and placed the earrings in her hand.

Sure enough, after receiving the priceless jewelry, Nami didn't wear them on her ears, but carefully stored them away.

"Genrou, I want to leave the rest of the treasure here. You're okay with that, right?"

At that moment, Luffy also walked over.

After all, Genrou had been the one to find the treasure, and he had just handed over his private valuables to Nami. Even Luffy felt he should at least ask.

"Do what you want, Luffy. It's not like there's a lot of Berries left in there anyway."

"Thanks, Genrou! You really are a good guy!"

Another good guy card.

Genrou shrugged and turned to Zoro.

"What're you looking at me for?"

Zoro frowned.

"I was wondering if you'd say I'm a good guy too."

"Hah! A pirate with an 800 million bounty? That's not what I'd call a good guy."

"As expected of you, Zoro. I agree."

"Anyway, Vice Captain, you seem pretty free. Wanna have a sword duel?"

"A sword duel, huh…" Genrou looked at the eager Zoro and decisively shook his head. "Nah, I've got to prepare for our departure with our navigator. If you want to fight, go challenge Luffy."

With that, Genrou grabbed Nami's hand and quickly vanished from Zoro's sight.

He had no intention of being targeted.

If he really beat Zoro in a sword fight, who knew how many times Zoro would challenge him again in the future?

The one Zoro should be challenging… was Dracule Mihawk.
