Inside the Heroic Spirit Space, in just a few minutes, Nami felt as though she had lived through months—if not years—of sailing.
Within this brief span, she experienced Christopher Columbus's journeys through countless seas and visits to numerous islands—all from his perspective.
She also witnessed what he did once he arrived at each island.
"This man definitely has incredible navigation skills,"
Nami sighed, shaking her head.
"But even though he calls himself an explorer, I think the title of pirate suits him far better than 'adventurer.'"
"Totally," Zoro agreed. "We didn't see much, but each time he landed on an island, he looted the locals without hesitation."
"He's more pirate than we are."
"Ugh, I don't like this guy," Luffy muttered, arms crossed and visibly conflicted. "Nami, you probably shouldn't pick him as your Heroic Spirit template."
"Idiot. Didn't you say not to interfere with other people's choices?"
"Besides, even if Nami picks Columbus as her Heroic Spirit, it's not like she'll become him."
"Don't forget, I picked Kokushibō, and he's a literal demon. I didn't turn into that freak, did I?"
Zoro knocked Luffy on the head to shut him up.
Nami didn't say anything; she simply kept her gaze on the scene unfolding before her.
The visuals of Columbus's sailing prowess faded, replaced by his combat prowess as a Heroic Spirit—a Servant.
Surrounded by enemies, Columbus fought wildly, wielding swords, spears, and even his own ship's wheel as a weapon. Blood and screams filled the chaotic battlefield.
"He's not nearly as cool as Drake,"
Luffy pouted.
"Drake can at least summon turrets and firepower—this guy just isn't cool."
Zoro didn't say anything, but his eyes betrayed similar disapproval toward Columbus's rough and brutal combat style.
"Columbus isn't a pure warrior. His combat methods may be crude, but he's still a tough opponent,"
Genrou explained.
"Just like Drake, he also possesses a Noble Phantasm."
"And their Noble Phantasms are actually pretty similar."
As Genrou finished speaking, magical energy suddenly surged around Columbus.
In the next instant, a massive sailing ship burst from the ground beneath him.
With a twisted grin, Columbus grabbed the ship's wheel. At his command, the Santa María, his flagship, launched a barrage of chained anchors at the enemy ahead.
In a flash, the area within several hundred meters was engulfed in a storm of anchors and chains.
The very earth groaned under the weight and impact of the assault.
…
"Whoa! That's so cool! You can attack with a ship like that?"
Luffy cried out in excitement, completely forgetting his earlier complaints.
"Genrou, let's get a ship that can fire anchors like cannonballs too!"
"There's no such convenient ship in the real world,"
Zoro said flatly.
"That's his Noble Phantasm."
"Still," Luffy grinned, "even if we can't buy one, Genrou can summon a ship like that, right?"
"Just like when you summoned the Golden Deer before!"
He turned to Genrou with shining eyes.
"No thanks. I'm not interested in Columbus's powers."
Genrou thought silently while shaking his head with a smile.
Columbus's abilities overlapped too much with Drake's. And in terms of overall combat potential, Drake was clearly superior—especially with a more versatile Noble Phantasm.
So even if he picked Columbus's template, it'd feel like a downgraded version of Drake's.
Compared to that, Genrou had his eye on the 'Thief' Satou Kazuma and the 'Bottomless Drinker' Cana.
"Even though he's a navigator, I don't think Columbus's power suits me. I'd like to see the others first."
Nami shifted her gaze downward, her eyes landing on the name: Cana Alberona – Bottomless Drinker.
"Cana Alberona, huh… She's got the 'Bottomless Drinker' trait? Isn't that the same as one of Zoro's earlier picks—'Drunkard' Rangiku Matsumoto?"
"That's what I wanted to ask!" Luffy turned. "Nami, do you really have the 'Bottomless Drinker' trait? You can drink that much?"
"Hehe, of course not! A refined lady like me could never be a drunk. Genrou, maybe your Heroic Spirit Space is broken or something?"
Genrou just spread his hands.
"This place identified Zoro's 'bad sense of direction' without fail. So naturally, it also spotted your drinking capacity."
"If you're unsure, why not just tap the words 'Bottomless Drinker' and find out?"
Nami gave an awkward laugh—and decisively tapped Cana Alberona's name.
As for her drunken escapades… no way she was letting those be exposed.
After all, the only times she drank heavily in the past were when she was scamming pirates to steal their treasure.
The scene shifted again, and the group arrived at a lively guild hall.
Inside, people were chatting, fighting, drinking—but whatever they were doing, their faces were full of smiles.
"So many people! Genrou, which one is Cana?"
Luffy asked, confused.
"No need to ask. It's definitely that one."
Zoro pointed.
Luffy turned to look and saw a girl around eighteen with long, flowing black hair. She was clutching a massive keg and chugging down alcohol like her life depended on it.
"That's her—Cana Alberona. She's a member of the mage guild Fairy Tail, where we are right now."
As Genrou explained, Cana had already finished one barrel and moved on to the next without hesitation.
"Sheesh, I wish we had a bigger ship—one with a wine cellar,"
Zoro muttered, licking his lips.
He wasn't just watching—his inner alcohol demon had been awakened.
"Am I the only one who thinks drinking like that is ridiculous? I'd never drink straight from a keg."
Nami pouted.
"Well, you could try it sometime. Given your alcohol tolerance, a whole keg is probably no problem."
"Genrou! You've never even seen me drink—stop making stuff up!"
"Fine, fine. Whatever you say."
Genrou shrugged casually.
One keg.
Two kegs.
Three.
Only after downing three kegs did Cana seem satisfied. She stood up and strode toward the guild's front doors.
As she pushed open the doors and stepped outside, Genrou and the others' vision followed her.
They watched as Cana pulled out several magical cards from a pouch on her waist. Magical energy swirled around her, converging onto the cards.
With a graceful swing of her arm, she unleashed a series of elemental spells—lightning, fire, ice, wind blades, water whips, poisonous gas—all erupting from the cards and shooting toward the open space ahead.
In an instant, the area over a hundred meters ahead was engulfed in a storm of chaotic magic.
Zoro, Nami, and Luffy's eyes went wide with awe.
None of them had expected the seemingly carefree girl to become so fierce in combat.
The elemental forces in her hands were like mere toys under her control.
"Cana Alberona. Candidate for S-Class Mage. Her specialty is Card Magic, allowing her to summon and attack with a wide range of elements."
"In short, her fighting style is comprehensive and leaves no weaknesses."
As Genrou spoke, Cana continued casting more spells with ease.
And Nami's eyes shone brighter and brighter as she watched.
Genrou raised a brow—seeing Nami's expression, he already knew what her choice would be.
With Columbus eliminated, there was no way she'd pick Satou Kazuma the "Thief."
The scene changed again—this time, a tall man appeared, facing off against Cana.
Cana took a deep breath and extended her right arm, which was engraved with mystical tattoos.
"One of Fairy Tail's Three Great Spells…"
With a cry, a golden pillar of magic burst from the ground beneath her, soaring into the sky.
The once-dark clouds parted, the gloom swept away in an instant.
"Fairy Glitter!"
As she spoke the name, the light in the sky condensed into a massive glowing ring that descended toward her enemy.
