Tapping on the pulsating tab, five glowing circles of light slowly materialised, orbiting around him.
Reaching out to the first, the dark stone dissolved into particles with the system echoing in his head.
[You've received a new skill... Mind Shackle!]
Quickly, he claimed the remaining stones.
[You've received a lightning rune stone]
[You've received a fire rune stone]
[You've received a water rune stone]
[You've received a nullification rune stone]
Sigh.
"Nice."
Letting out a yawn, Ivan settled on his bed. "Not yet. I can't sleep just yet. I need to understand all about this strange system and the power of my blood fragment."
Also, he needed to finish combing through the memories of this body.
Having read most chapters of the book, Ivan had an idea of the Blood Fragment. A rare blessing granted only to those vampires with pure bloodline.
Ivan had long passed the age of awakening a Blood Fragment, part of which had further muddied his name in the family… until now.
The powers gained from the Blood Fragment vary, and it appeared he had awakened quite a unique one. A Blood Grimoire along with a legendary Blood Trait.
That was nothing short of amazing.
An ability that enabled him to summon all manner of things using blood as the medium.
This was unheard of, and he was pretty sure it would cause quite the stir if it ever came to his family's knowledge.
"Let's see what the system has to say about them."
Opening the Blood tab this time around, he stared at the floating words.
[Blood Trait: Blood Summoner]
[Description: The Blood Summoner is a legendary, extinct trait that enables manipulation of blood essence. Grants the ability to summon entities, weapons, constructs from blood...]
[Grade: EX]
[Blood Fragment: Blood Grimoire]
[Description:???] [Grade: Unknown]
"No description and an unknown grade?" So even the system didn't fully understand his powers.
Next, he checked his blood storage. Just like the last time, the mystical red light still floated.
[Blood extracted: 300/300 Units]
Then the memories.
[Memories can now be accessed]
Closing his eyes, Alex braced himself for another rollercoaster of pain… but none came.
The memories began to play in his head. Minutes went by, beads of sweat rolled down his face as he experienced everything Ivan had endured.
'Bloody hell!'
He didn't just see Ivan's life–he lived it. Alex couldn't help but shake his head.
He didn't really know much about Prince Ivan. Just little bits of information divulged in the book.
Prince Ivan. The only male child unable to awaken the family bloodline. A cripple for close to ten years of his life. Earning the title, 'Crippled Prince' due to his ordeals and inability to fully go through his first transformation.
It was assumed he was going to live a quiet life hidden behind rows and rows of books.
And so the teachings started, throwing valued tutors upon him.
Then, the miraculous change that occurred when he finally took his first step. And then was fully introduced to the world. But he was too late. He was far behind his peers. And even then he never did awaken his Blood Fragment.
The rest was quite easy to guess. Being unable to awaken his Blood Fragment. Turning to the laughing stock of his family and being ridiculed. His best was never enough.
Yet the latter parts of the memories made his eyes widen. And then the Prince's last moments before death.
And just a little over an hour later, he was done.
Opening his grey eyes, they appeared different. A glint of coldness seemed to be present.
After going through the memories, he didn't just inherit Ivan's power. He also inherited his pain.
Sweeping strands of white hair back, he rose from his bed and began pacing. Now with the memories, he knew he needed to get to work.
If he wanted to survive what's coming, he needed to be prepared and he knew exactly what to do.
Ensuring his tent was shut, he set to work. "Alright, how do I go about the summoning with the blood?"
Just then, the system popped up with information.
[The host must draw a blood formation to initiate summoning. The rest will proceed automatically...]
"Alright. Let's do this."
First, he would need to unsummon a few of his Blood Wraiths to test it out.
[You've released five Blood Wraiths]
[Blood Summon: 15/20]
Quickly drawing the blood formation with his blood on the ground, he placed his palm above and then closed his eyes.
[Blood Summoning Ritual Initiated]
[Stored blood will now be consumed to create a summon…]
Alexander felt blood surged outward from his palms. A moment later, the formation flared and an arm cladded in red leather armour burst forth from the circle followed by its full body emerging from the glowing pattern.
Ding!
[Blood Summon Successful!]
[You've summoned a blood hunter]
[Blood hunter: The Blood Hunter is a relentless, semi–sentient being created to track and eliminate prey]
[Grade: Rare] [Rank: Warrior]
[Traits: Blood Trail, Stealth, Predator Mark]
"A blood hunter... hmmm... this is getting interesting." He muttered.
[Blood Storage: 250/300 Units]
He quickly drew two more formations and summoned again.
Ding!
[Blood Summon Successful!]
[You've summoned a Blood Wraith]
[Blood Wraith: Phantom class summon born of condensed and corrupted blood]
[Grade: Common] [Rank: Minion]
[Blood Storage: 240/300]
[Blood Summon successful!]
[You've summoned a Blood Wraith]
[20x multiplier activated!]
[Blood Wraith upgraded to Blood Revenant!]
"This is crazy!" Alexander let out a subtle yelp as he stared at the screen with wide eyes.
"20x multiplier! What the fuck!"
The strange tab had appeared during his first blood summoning, but he didn't think too much about it. But if his thoughts were right, it means...
He had been granted yet another cheat to rapidly grow his powers.
A strange power that enabled him to multiply the rewards gotten from the system twentyfold. It was too good to be true.
There ought to be a downside to this. "Hell! Screw that. No need wasting time thinking about useless stuff."
"Let's see the description!"
[Blood Revenant…]
