Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Great Ascension.

"Nobody's leaving while I'm still standing!"

Suddenly, a bronze compass soared into the sky, trailing a stream of dazzling lights. It burst forth with an unfathomably powerful force.

In an instant, the entire world seemed to lock down. A faint, mist-like barrier shimmered into existence, enclosing the battlefield.

The Gnome Elder sneered. "Stop struggling. Just die quietly."

High above, the eighteen Great Ascension cultivators loomed like divine executioners. Despair settled over the Xuantian Sect cultivators like a suffocating shroud.

How do we even begin to fight this?

"So much for our hopes," someone muttered. "I thought Xuantian Sect might rise again... but we're doomed to extinction."

Xu Yonian exhaled a heavy, sorrowful sigh.

"Master, let's fight to the end!" the disciples roared, their eyes bloodshot, fury igniting their hearts.

Hong Qianye's face darkened. "Damn it… Are we really going to die alongside these insects? I refuse!"

His eyes shifted toward Ye Junlin, who was casually devouring chicken wings without a care in the world. Resentment surged in his chest.

He's still eating? Seriously? Now?!

With the resources he's hoarded, he should've been invincible by now. If I had them, I'd already be ruling the heavens!

To die beside someone like this… is infuriating.

"Little Xi."

"Master, I'm right here!"

"I want to try the honey-flavored ones next time."

"Ah… Master, will there even be a next time?"

Bai Xiaoxi froze. Her fluffy, mouse-like features trembled as she looked up at the eighteen overwhelming presences in the sky.

Ye Junlin didn't answer. His gaze lingered on the remaining six pieces of Orleans-style wings.

"…Fine. I'll eat after I deal with this."

Swish.

To everyone's astonishment, Ye Junlin stepped into the sky, calmly facing the eighteen imposing figures.

"Ye Junlin, you finally show your face," a burly man growled, his eyes radiating fierce energy.

"You beat up my useless disciple, so now, as his Master, it's only fair I step in." Ye Junlin puffed his chest out, speaking with a righteous air—though his tone dripped with mockery.

"…Your granddad—" Hong Qianye muttered through clenched teeth, his lips twitching in frustration.

Let's see what you've really got!

Hong Qianye believed he had already surpassed Ye Junlin in cultivation. If the other guy fell short… then this so-called genius was finished.

"Heh… Your fate's sealed," the Gnome Elder hissed. "I'll strip your flesh, grind your bones to dust, and make an example of you!"

"Now that Ye Junlin is here, seize him!" Gold Serpent Elder ordered coldly.

She remained wary. Though Ye Junlin was at the peak of Unity Stage, one of his disciples had already reached half a step into Great Ascension. Could there be more to him?

The other core elders weren't pleased. It was clear they were being used as pawns to probe Ye Junlin's strength.

Still, the silver-haired woman held more power and influence in the sect—they had no choice but to obey.

"Kill!!"

Roars erupted.

Over a dozen core elders surged forward, their killing intent filling the air.

Swish!

A blue sword light streaked through the sky, slicing downward at Ye Junlin's head.

[ Ding! Host is under attack from an early-stage Great Ascension enemy. Triggering passive skill: Strength increases against powerful opponents. Gained mid-level Great Ascension cultivation! ]

In a blink, Ye Junlin ascended from the peak of Unity Stage to mid-level Great Ascension.

Boom!!

A majestic aura surged to the heavens, tearing apart the clouds.

With a casual wave of his hand, he dispelled the blue sword light completely.

His long silver hair danced in the wind. His face, impossibly handsome, glowed with power. His eyes sparkled with unmatched confidence. The corner of his mouth curled upward, nearly forming a right angle.

This… this feels amazing!

Instant power boost! This is what true strength tastes like!

Everyone froze in shock.

"Junior Ye is at Great Ascension?!" Xu Yonian gasped.

What the hell?!

So Xuantian Sect did have a hidden powerhouse all along!

"No… No way!" Hong Qianye stumbled back, disbelief etched across his face.

It felt like spending countless sleepless nights studying for a major exam, only to watch the class clown—who never studied—ace it effortlessly.

"You… You've been hiding this? This isn't fair!"

His eyes turned bloodshot. He clenched his fists until they trembled.

It's like getting your IQ slapped!

He'd never seen anyone hide their strength this well.

First, Ye Junlin was at Nascent Soul… and now he's at Great Ascension?!

Outrageous. Shameless!

"You've been at Great Ascension this whole time?!" the core elders roared, stunned and enraged.

"Sorry to disappoint," Ye Junlin said with a smirk. "I'm not at Unity Stage."

The moment he spoke—

Boom!

He vanished.

In the next instant, he reappeared directly above a core elder's head. With a sharp cry and a downward palm strike, he bellowed—

"Drop dead!"

"ARGH!"

The elder was obliterated in a spray of blood.

Ye Junlin moved like a phantom. His next punch carried terrifying power, smashing into another elder mid-air.

"No!"

All protective magical treasures shattered like paper. The elder's body exploded, his soul vanishing in despair.

Ye Junlin became a storm incarnate.

Using the Great Void Technique, he weaved through the barrage of attacks from more than a dozen Great Ascension experts.

Every strike—fist, palm, kick, or finger—carried annihilating power.

Bodies were torn apart. Heads exploded. Flesh turned to pulp.

In mere moments, nine Great Ascension cultivators were killed with bare hands!

The remaining six—each at mid-level Great Ascension—were pale with fear.

They had never seen such raw, overwhelming brutality.

Each of those elders was a titan in the Eastern Domain, capable of shaking entire regions. Even in defeat, they could usually escape.

Yet here… they were helpless, torn apart like insects.

"How… How can a monster like you exist in Arid Province?!" a white-browed elder screamed, summoning sixteen purple-gold flying swords.

Clang, clang, clang—!

The swords slammed into Ye Junlin… and bounced off.

Despite being flesh and blood, the sound was metallic.

"What kind of body is this?!" the lanky elder gasped.

Each sword was a sixth-grade Spirit Tool, devastating if they struck.

But they couldn't even pierce his skin.

"…Not bad. That stung a little," Ye Junlin said seriously.

Ever since cultivating the Indestructible Body Art, his physique had become nearly untouchable. This was just a test.

BOOM!

A massive golden fist shot forward.

The lanky elder felt every hair on his body rise. Death loomed.

A thunderous explosion erupted.

But there was no blood.

"…Huh?"

Ye Junlin raised an eyebrow.

"Thank you, Elder Hongwu!" the lanky elder exhaled in relief.

A burly man had appeared before him.

Elder Hongwu stood with arms crossed, a beast-shaped ancient mark glowing on his chest, radiating ancient primal energy.

That mark had blocked Ye Junlin's fatal punch!

"Interesting," Ye Junlin said with a grin. "You actually tanked that punch?"

Outwardly calm, Elder Hongwu was internally shaken.

He swallowed blood rising in his throat, maintaining a stoic face.

Body refinement is my forte… and even with the beast spirit mark, he almost broke through?

What kind of freak is this guy?!
