Approaching, D'lean staggered as though he was about to fall on his face. However, he held himself. At the same time, Echidna, one of Reynold comrades stared at him in a confused state.
"Is it one of you?" Reynold asked, looking at Uvenna, and then she nodded.
Her face was already filled with tears. Not for pain, but for joy. She couldn't believe that he was still alive, after thinking he wouldn't have made it when attacked by the monster.
Echidna, glanced at Uvenna, as she responded, and then back at D'lean. She couldn't guess what it was, but something about him didn't sit right with her.
"Should I open the barrier?" Alon asked. Standing beside Reynold. He was dressed in a blue and grey cloak, that covered his entire body, with a staff in his hand. He looked more like a sorcerer, than a knight.
Reynold took a glance at Uvenna, and saw the expression on her face. Filled with excitement, and at the same time worries. Then he looked at Phillip, his eyes focused on D'lean as they could show his sincere expressions.
"Open it." Reynold command.
Without hesitation, Alon who looked more like a mage than a knight, swirled his staff twice and then the barrier vanished.
D'lean was almost close to the barrier when suddenly, a figure appeared before him in a flash. The movement made a daunting sound that was unpleasant to the ear, as though it had moved with the wind.
D'lean stopped, and gazed at the appearance before him. It was the same humanoid monster. Seven feet tall, against D'lean 177.8 cm height. It's eyes glaring down at him as though it was here to take back what it had lost.
"Impossible. What is it doing here? It shouldn't have moved." Reynold mumbled, as fear took over his body.
Not only him but the rest of his crew. Their eyes shivering like they had seen a ghost. It was as though they didn't see the monster when they came. No. They saw it, but didn't expect it to move so quickly.
"It can't be?" Elysia mumbled under a breath. Her eyes shivering as, her face turned into an ugly image.
Meanwhile, Uvenna covered her mouth. With the monster before them. She thought of how the monster had killed the previous students who attacked it. And now it was in front of D'lean.
The thought of losing him again, after just seeing him. Was unbearable. Although she had a sword in her hand, but couldn't make any careless moves. On the other hand, Philip was in a bit of rage. He clenched his hands, as he began to cook his next move thoroughly.
Suddenly, a massive ominous wave of aura erupted from the monster, thick white malic and a sinister intent. Those who were not awakened fell to the ground, blood spilling from their mouths as if poisoned from within. One by one, they fell, their body lifeless, and then died.
"W-What is this?"
Those who were still standing, were the. ones who had awakened. As well as the knights of Luminastra. Phillip saw this unfortunate sight, as the anger inside him couldn't be contained.
"No don't!"
He dashed towards the monster, screaming, his hand raised in the air, ready to strike. However, it was futile. Without even looking back, the monster caught his blow, and slowly turned to face him.
There was no expression on its face, except one that invoked fear and disaster. It began squeezing his gauntlet, as though the mechanics were made out of plastic. It was nothing to it, but a piece of junk.
Phillip looked unfazed. With determination he took his second hand for another attempt, but was still futile. The monster threw him to he hair and instantly it leaped up and kicked him hard to land on the ground.
With the opportunity Uvenna quickly rushed to D'lean.
"Are you hurt? Are you hurt?" She mumbled in a care.
Although, D'lean didn't pay attention to her, as his attention was somewhere else. She looked at his eyes and saw how cold there were, before following its fixed direction.
It was were Phillip landed. The dust clearing as it revealed him. He was covered in blood. His the mechanic mask that was in his face had half broken. His gauntlet, were half broken. He tried to get up, was suddenly face with the monster again.
It picked him up, and slammed him on the ground multiple times. Each breaking every piece of metal on his body, as well as causing him to take a severe injury. He was covered in blood, his eyes swollen, but the monster didn't stop.
D'lean tried to move in his direction, however…
"Stop!"
Reynold yelled, halting D'lean
"If you go you are surely going to get killed."
"THEN WHAT SHOULD I DO? STAY HERE AND WATCH AS HE'S GETTING DESTROYED!!!"
D'lean shouted.
Reynold expression changed into pity. He could fell the pain that was coursing through D'lean, but knew they couldn't to anything at the moment.
"Even still, you can't go. It will kill you and--"
He eyes shifted to D'lean's hand, as he saw the wa he was holding it.
"You are injured?"
Uvenna who was looking at Reynold, suddenly turned to D'lean, and tried to touch him, but he refused.
"It's just a scratch." D'lean proclaimed.
"You are injured and you want to go and face a monster like that? That's unheard of."
While they thought they had time on their hand, the beating of Phillip finally stopped, and instantly caught everyone's attention. The monster turned to their direction, and brought out its sword, then pointed at them.
The image created a feeling of deja Vu to D'lean and the rest, when suddenly, all the monsters who were still standing and waiting for the order began running towards their target at the command of the seven food monsters.
"We need to get out of here fast!" Alon exclaimed as he instantly recreated the barrier again, reaching where D'lean and Uvenna stood.
The horde of monsters surged and crashed on the barrier. They weren't able to break it, but as their numbers increased it was later to get weak.
"I can't hold for too long!" Alon exclaimed.
Reynold and the others, began taking the rest of the students who were still alive into the portal.
"Let's go, D'lean."
Uvenna spoke, as she held him so follow her. But he didn't move. He stared at her, as he couldn't believe it.
"Are you just gonna let him go like that?" he asked, as he released his hand from her grasp.
Uvenna eyes widened, as he felt something move in her. It was the first time he had ever said a word to her, but it wasn't in the way she would have wanted.
"T-There is nothing we can do at the moment." she said, as she moved closer to him.
"As you can see we have abilities, and we could get stronger. Reynold said we could come back when we get a more stronger."
Hearing this, D'lean frowned, as though he didn't understand the language she was speaking. He knew he didn't have one of those, and also wondered if she didn't know he didn't. She wasn't making sense.
"And you believe that crap?" he fired, and then pointed at Phillip. "He's our friend! We can't just leave him."
"We need to go now!"
Reynold shouted. He had already finished taking the students inside the portal, and those who remained was him Uvenna, D'lean, and Alon.
CRACK!
The sound of the barrier cracking echoed, as it caught their attention. It was soon to break any second.
Uvenna glance at D'lean.
She took a hold of D'lean's hands, and held it both tight, and looked into his eyes saying:
"We would surely come back for him."
D'lean was furious, he turned and saw Phillip. Their eyes met, a smile played on Philip's face, as though telling him that it was alright. Just a while ago, it was D'lean giving that look, but not it as been reversed.
D'lean bit his lips.
"I swear I will come back for you. Whatever it takes. I will do. To stop this madness. I promise."
After speaking, he let go from Uvenna's hands, and went into the portal, his face sharp with resolve, burning with fury, as if he had awakened his inner monster.
Then the barrier shattered. The monsters surged, but the Reynold and the others slipped through the portal just in time. and then it closed. Leaving Phillip, the only human, all alone with creatures that now saw him as their next prey.
