Like every classic villain, Poseidon didn't forget to drop a dramatic parting line before storming off:
"I'll be back."
The sea is both vast and petty. It can embrace all, yet stir into chaos at the slightest breeze.
Just as Eros breathed a sigh of relief after driving Poseidon away, he was suddenly blindsided by a full-body tackle.
"Eros! You were amazing!"
WHAM!
Perseis hurled herself into his arms like a cannonball. The weight of her figure—and let's be honest, her chest—landed with a thunderous thud.
Even someone as sturdy as Eros staggered, momentarily dazed and breathless.
That kind of move would earn you a yellow card on the field, you know, Miss Player?
But Perseis, caught up in the excitement, didn't care about his reaction. She hopped up and planted two hot, passionate kisses on his cheeks.
Her lips were literally burning. No surprise for someone made of flame. The fiery enthusiasm left even Styx momentarily stunned.
Only after her impulsive display did Perseis seem to realize she'd gone a bit too far. She quickly let go, flustered.
She couldn't help it. She loved men like Eros. His style was just her type.
So what if it was Poseidon? If she didn't like her, she'd punch her in the face anyway.
When Eros landed that sudden right hook, Perseis felt her whole body ignite with excitement.
And then when he threatened to summon Zeus and blow the whole place up? Even more thrilling.
Caught up in the moment, she'd acted out a bit—okay, more than a bit—in front of all her sisters.
Styx let out a helpless sigh as she watched Perseis try to play it cool.
Some things are fine when done in private. Everyone pretends not to notice.
But doing it openly, in front of everyone? If word got out…
Fortunately, today it was just their own little circle of sisters.
"Everyone," Styx said gently, addressing the gathered goddesses, "let's keep today's events between us. No one needs to hear about this outside our group."
As the eldest and most respected among them, her request naturally received no objection.
The goddesses all nodded, some even teasing Perseis with laughter, clearly not taking it too seriously.
"Eros, thank you for what you did earlier."
Once they sat back down, Styx leaned in and spoke to Eros in a softer tone.
"If it weren't for you, we would've lost one of our own today. Forced to become Poseidon's Sea Queen."
"So, truly, thank you. As the goddess of the River Styx, I now owe you a favor."
Unlike the others, Styx didn't take this lightly. Even if Eros had mostly acted out of self-interest, the result still benefited them all.
"You flatter me, my lady," Eros replied modestly. "I really only acted for my own sake."
"And besides, you saved me too. Let's just call this even."
Styx smiled and poured two goblets of honeyed wine, handing one to him.
"No need for formality. Just call us by our names. We're friends now, aren't we?"
"Then… Styx?"
Eros raised his goblet and met her gaze. They clinked glasses gently.
"And me too!"
Perseis popped back up with a grin, holding her own goblet of wine toward him.
Eros sighed but clinked her glass too. She pouted playfully.
"Isn't something missing?"
"…Perseis?"
Content, she downed her drink in one go, her cheeks glowing with warmth.
Off to the side, Amphitrite watched the scene with a mix of envy and bashfulness. She didn't dare join them, so she quietly raised her tiny cup, mimicking her sisters' motions and sipping daintily.
The banquet slowly regained its earlier cheer, though Poseidon's interruption had clearly dampened the mood for many.
Soon after, the goddesses began taking their leave, but not without saying goodbye to Eros and each slipping him an invitation.
They all hoped he'd stop by their domains during his journey and give them the honor of hosting him.
The Realm of the Sea Gods truly lived up to its reputation—so warm, so welcoming.
Eros accepted each invitation graciously, promising he'd visit every one of them in time.
He couldn't help but feel like he'd effortlessly slipped into the role of a "Sea King."
Was this… his true nature awakening?
No, no. He refused to use Poseidon's title. He wasn't that pervert.
He was here to spread love, companionship, and emotional comfort to these lonely goddesses.
After most had gone, only Styx, Perseis, and Amphitrite remained behind.
The three goddesses exchanged glances. The atmosphere turned subtly tense.
"Aren't you heading back to the Underworld, Sis? What are you still doing here?" Perseis asked bluntly, her face full of innocence and sincerity.
Styx gave a wry smile. Really? We're already starting the elimination game?
You have brains. Why not use them at home to deal with those cursed mares? Why stir the pot here?
"I just don't feel at ease," she replied mildly. "Figured I'd drop by to see Father. It's been a while."
She genuinely had no ulterior motives. Just a little concerned.
"Don't lump me in with your scheming, alright?"
Originally, Amphitrite was supposed to be Eros's only guide. But now Perseis had stayed too, without even saying a word about it.
"Are you sure you're not needed on Olympus?"
"It's fine. Nobody pays attention to a low-level goddess like me anyway. Besides, can't I go home and visit Father too?"
Apparently, Perseis had picked up some of Eros's carefree attitude. She spoke like a seasoned wanderer now.
Styx, clearly exasperated, turned to Amphitrite.
"Well then, we'll accompany you for a little while. You don't mind, do you?"
Amphitrite nodded quickly.
"Not at all! Honestly, I feel more at ease with you two coming along."
She'd been a bundle of nerves at the thought of traveling alone with Eros. Now that her sisters were joining, she finally relaxed.
Eros didn't mind either. Traveling with one goddess was convenient, but having three was fine too.
He wasn't like Poseidon or Zeus, jumping straight into bed with every pretty face.
What he wanted was for beautiful girls to soothe the emptiness in his heart.
Whether it was slow-simmering romance with a future Sea Queen or a sizzling affair with a fiery wife, it was all part of the experience.
"Well then, if we're all set, let's get moving, shall we?"
