The little stoic nodded. As the two held hands and stepped out, they happened to see a group of people entering the City Lord's Mansion hall. The person leading the group met Qiao Mu's gaze but immediately gave her a disdainful look, not even giving her a proper glance as they brushed past with their entourage.
Liang Qingqing immediately furrowed her brows, turning to look at the haughty young woman. The woman appeared to be about eighteen, with a pretty face, beautiful as distant mountains, and vibrant lips. However, her chin was slightly pointed and narrow, giving her entire face a sharp, almost cutting expression.
"Who is that?" Liang Qingqing asked in a low voice.
Someone in the hall loudly announced, "Miss Ni Hanzhi of Medicine King Island has arrived."
Liang Qingqing couldn't help but roll her eyes, watching as two rows of guards from Medicine King Island cleared a path, with a crowd surrounding the young woman as she approached the table.
"You know her?" Liang Qingqing pulled the little stoic out the door.
Qiao Mu nodded. "I've met her a few times."
"The daughter of Medicine King Island's master?"
"She's an apprentice to a Grand Emissary."
"Good heavens, I thought she was the future island master then." Such a grand display for just an apprentice to an emissary; it really startled Qingqing.
Once outside, the two naturally paid no further attention to Ni Hanzhi's movements.
Ni Hanzhi walked to the front of everyone, her expression calm as she stated, "Medicine King Island, having learned of the incident in Jialan City, has specifically dispatched us to assist."
Ni Hanzhi had originally come with the Lin family to join the fun. Previously, she and Lin Miu'er, Gu Yixin, and others were all arrested and thrown into the Jingzhao Prefecture prison.
