Chapter 26 - Chapter 27: The Climb to Legend

🛡️ Hero Description

Chapter 27:

The evening air was quiet, filtered through the gentle buzz of a ceiling fan and the subtle clicks of a keyboard. Rayn leaned forward, eyes fixed on the screen. His current rank: Grandmaster V — one game away from Legend.

He scrolled through his hero list, then paused.

Kael.

He hadn't played the fighter much until recently. Watching pro replays showed him how offlaners silently controlled fights by not fighting — zoning, rotating, buying space.

He locked him in.

In the loading screen, Aether_77 sent a voice line through the chat:

> "Let's finish this climb today, yeah?"

Rayn didn't reply. Just pinged "On my way."

---

From the start, things clicked. Rayn controlled the lane with precision, not overextending. He used Steel Guard smartly, soaking minion waves and forcing the enemy back. Aether's jungle pathing was tight, syncing perfectly with Rayn's pressure.

At 6 minutes, Rayn rotated mid just in time to cut off an enemy gank. One clean Iron Slash, and the mid laner fell.

By 9 minutes, he'd only died once, but created space for his team to secure Turtle and a turret. His Duel Zone locked down the enemy carry in a team fight — they both blinked into the arena, but only Rayn walked out.

> "Bro, that ult was clean," Aether messaged.

Rayn just pinged the lane again and kept going.

---

By the 14-minute mark, they had full map control. One final team wipe near Lord secured the push.

Victory screen.

Rank Up: Legend V

The golden glow lit up Rayn's screen. He leaned back in his chair, blinked a few times.

He wasn't surprised.

More than anything, he just felt… solid.

---

> "Let's gooo! You're officially a Legend now!" Aether typed.

"Told you, you're built different. Lowkey scary how fast you're learning."

Rayn stared at the message, then slowly typed back:

> "Still lots to learn."

---

He exited the game and minimized his screen. His notebook sat nearby, already half full.

Things he didn't understand yet.

Why that midlaner overextended.

How Kael's ult would work in tight jungle fights.

When to trade turret gold for team fight presence.

He didn't feel like a pro.

He felt like someone finally starting to understand the language of the game.
