Chapter 40 - Chapter 40: New Winds and New Paths(R-18)

The sun rose behind the snowy cliffs of Drum Kingdom, casting golden warmth over the icy slopes as the Going Merry bobbed gently in the harbor below.

The crew stood together at the dock, wrapped warmly, their breath visible in the crisp air.

Dalton, flanked by smiling villagers, nodded deeply. "Thank you, Straw Hats. This kingdom owes you everything."

"Make it a good place to live, okay?" Luffy grinned.

Vihaan stepped forward, giving Dalton a firm handshake. "Protect your people. Be better than the last king."

Behind them, Kureha adjusted her goggles and shouted, "HEY! Don't think I'll miss that idiot!"

Chopper's eyes welled up, and he ran up to hug her furry coat. "Thank you… for everything!"

"You're a pirate now," she said, flicking his nose. "Be a damn good one."

The Straw Hats boarded the Merry, and with a final wave, the ship pulled away.

As the icy shoreline shrank behind them, Nami spun the wheel, wrapped in her warm parka. "Where to, princess?" she called, glancing at Vivi, who stood quietly near the rail.

Vivi looked out toward the horizon. "Alabasta."

Vihaan leaned beside her. "That's a long way. Hope you're ready."

"I am," she said firmly. "Let's go home."

With Drum Island far behind them, the crew settled into their usual rhythm.

Zoro went back to lifting massive weights with one hand while napping with the other.

Sanji stirred a hot stew in the kitchen while humming about love and tomatoes.

Usopp proudly displayed his new slingshot upgrades to a very confused Chopper.

Luffy climbed the mast and yelled, "I CAN SEE THE GRAND LINE!!!"

"No, you can't, you idiot!" Nami shouted from the deck.

On the side rail, Nami leaned into Vihaan, the wind tousling her hair.

"You really like teasing girls, huh?" she asked with a smirk.

Vihaan looked ahead, eyes on the sea. "Only the ones who make teasing fun."

Nami chuckled, gently bumping his shoulder with hers.

Meanwhile, Vivi watched from the bow, holding the royal necklace she wore beneath her scarf. For a brief moment, her fingers brushed the railing—and Vihaan appeared beside her, conjuring a warm mirror pad for her hands.

"You looked cold," he said softly.

"I'm not," she replied, tucking the necklace away, "Not anymore."

Vivi threw her arms around his neck, the cold forgotten as she pressed her warm body against his. Her eyes searched his, a silent question, and Vihaan didn't hesitate to lean in. Their kiss was a promise, a declaration of feelings that had been building like the snowbanks around them. It was tender yet fierce, a dance of warmth in the frozen tundra.

Without breaking the kiss, he slid his hand under her parka, his cold fingers finding the softness of her skin. She gasped into his mouth, and he felt the thrill of her response. His hand found the hem of her shirt and slipped inside, caressing the curve of her waist. He pulled her closer, his touch moving upward to cup her breast gently. The fabric of her bra was no barrier to the heat of his palm, and he felt her nipple harden against it.

Vivi's arms tightened around him as she kissed him deeper, her breath coming in quick gasps. Her hands roamed his body, finding their way under his own parka, tracing the lines of muscles beneath his shirt. Their kiss grew more urgent, a silent conversation filled with passion and yearning.

As evening fell, a warm orange glow painted the sea.

The Going Merry sliced through the calm waters like a blade. The crew gathered around the table on deck, bowls of stew in hand, smiles on their faces.

They were stronger now.

Closer.

And just over the horizon—Baroque Works, Crocodile, and the fate of Alabasta awaited.

But for now… they laughed under the stars.
