So the best way to answer her question is still unknown to me, maybe it's best to just make up something for the time being. It's better than giving her no answer at all to the question.
"I'm just not cut out for it, I've never been much of a hero." Saito says with a calm tone in his voice.
I can tell she doesn't really know how to respond to my answer yet which is fine but it's kind of the truth in a way. It doesn't suit me and I'm not really cut out for it.
Her eyes lock onto Saito instead of the TV as she figures out what she wants to say. "You did just fine out there against that guy and you even saved someone recently too. I think it's just about you doubting yourself." Fumiko replies with a bit of sadness in her voice.
I should've expected her to give me that kind of answer since she's been present for everything I've done in some way. She makes it hard for me to argue why I don't want to be one.
But if I tell her it's just that I don't want to be one, I feel like it'll just come off as rude or something. Not that everyone should be forced to be one, it's just not everyone wants to be one.
It's a tough life in reality.
Before Saito can speak a reporter interrupts the current show that was on to bring vital information to the public. "An unexpected turn of events has occurred, the recently captured Villian Vespera Noctis is missing with no sign to where he disappeared to." The reporter says with concern in his voice.
The hero commission lost track of one of the Villians? That Eto guy was the one in charge of bringing him back so what happened that he got free?
That means he is definitely going to be looking for me since I was the one who beat him originally. Sigh. I didn't have a choice in the fight since it was a mandatory Quest for me.
My life was on the line no matter what but he didn't seem like he was going to be a major threat to Fumiko. It felt more like he was just a normal guy without any special abilities to him.
What's this feeling? Fumiko had placed her hand on his. "He won't do anything to you, you beat him before." Fumiko assures him without any hesitation.
I wasn't even thinking about it like that until she mentioned it but she's right nonetheless. Vespera won't beat me if I'm prepared for him, plus my luck won't let that happen to me right?
Maybe some leveling is in order for the next few days, but what's the best way to do that without him finding me before then? I haven't really figured that out just yet, or maybe Fumiko could help me out.
That might be a good solution for the time being since people seem to be able to find me pretty easily. But the #2 hero wouldn't have an obvious place that can be found out by just anyone.
"Thank you Fumiko, could I ask for a favor though?" Saito asks with kindness in his voice.
A small smile forms across her face. "Of course!" She responds joyfully.
It might come off as really direct but maybe she won't question it for the time being since the Villian I beat is missing. This could be beneficial in many different ways for the time being.
"Could I maybe stay at your place for a few days while this gets sorted?" Saito asks nervously.
"I'll be away for a day or so but I'll show you my place and help you get settled." Fumiko responds without any issues.
I thought she would've questioned why I wanted to stay with her but she just gave in to it without a problem. I'm honestly kind of shocked that she just said yes basically.
Didn't she get here with her powers though, so how would we get there exactly?
Fumiko turns off the TV and Saito packs his stuff that he needs for the next few days before she extends her hand for him to take. "Ready?" She asks with a smile on her face.
"I'm ready." Saito answers confidently as he takes her hand.
Within an instant he can feel himself flying through the air as she takes him back to her apartment. He watches as everything goes past him in an instant, realizing that she really does have some insane speed.
But as soon as she stops they are right in front of her apartment.
I'm trying real hard to resist the urge to throw up right now and I hope she doesn't notice that. I've never moved that fast in my life and I don't know how to feel about it just yet.
Holy shit, she moves like that all the time when she's saving people or fighting?!?! I guess it's probably normal for her since she's always doing it but damn that was insane.

It didn't take her long to show me around her apartment, it was definitely a lot nicer than mine. Except I could tell it was hers with the different plushies that she had along the shelves and even some of the different cat posters she had said this.
They look like they are from some of the shops that have those mystery box things.
Fumiko stands before him after they are all done. "Just don't do anything weird while I'm gone please haha." Fumiko says before laughing.
"I don't plan to, I'll see you when you get back." Saito replies nervously.
I can't shake this nervous side of me that comes out every time we talk, it's such a pain in the ass.
