Chapter 2 - Chapter 1 - Mad Doctor... Portia

The day changed quickly until it became midnight.

While I want to know the changes happening to my teenager body, I received a mysterious invitation from one of the female doctors who was treating me.

In the middle of this silent night, I immediately accepted her invitation after ensuring my family members were fast asleep.

 Tap...

 Tap...

The sound of heavy footsteps at night reminded me of one of the story plots that I would experience before the main story in this world began.

If my memory of this is correct, I was in a recovery phase that required a lot of rest in using magical energy after some wild monsters poisoned my veins with something mysterious.

Just think of me as being unlucky in this tragedy.

Vague memories and misfortunes accompany me. It's not surprising that I could become a villain or someone pathetic to be helped by the main character in this world.

"If I think about it further, I feel like a pathetic person, huh?" I muttered as I walked through a room that still felt unknown to me.

As far as I know, this is a refugee camp established by the royal family as a vanguard against attacks by uncontrolled wild monsters.

Even though my family was destroyed and my nobility was uprooted due to the loss of my territory, it didn't make me feel upset because my memories were mixed with "someone" who wasn't very important in this world.

However, this "someone" has something that the main character doesn't have, likely knowledge of the storyline that takes place in the future and modern knowledge that is too advanced in an eroge world that focuses on magical abilities.

 Tap...

 Tap...

My mind was filled with various possibilities until my footsteps stopped at a large door that was still emitting bright light in the middle of the night.

"I have to live the side story lore in this world, huh?"

"I feel lazy to continue to live as a fallen noble like this, but it can't be helped."

"I just need to come in and feel the yapping… then hope the skip story button appears in front me."

 Knock...

 Knock...

With full awareness, I knocked on the door in front of me and accepted the mysterious invitation about the illness I would suffer from as the story progressed.

 Ctaakk...

The door in front of me opened as if inviting me to enter.

I slowly walked in and noticed one of the NPCs who would be famous in the future.

Inside a room full of bookshelves and scattered papers, I entered a shabby-looking office.

"You're here, Hans?" said someone who looked even more beautiful than she did on my smartphone screen.

The figure in front of me is Doctor Portia, someone who will become a mad doctor in the future because she found a miracle brought by the main character in this world. Unlike Doctors who prioritize ethical codes and politeness in conducting research, she threw everything away to become a mad doctor who is quite famous in every Kingdom.

Even just hearing her name is enough to make some of her surviving guinea pigs shiver in fear and one of her surviving guinea pigs in the main story lore is me.

I, who already knew this terrible future, tried to fight until the end.

"Yes, I came to fulfill an invitation from someone as beautiful as you," I replied to make an awkward small talk with her.

My poor communication technique only made her sneer.

"You came at the right time, the results of your health research have come out and it's not good news."

"Everyone would know that it's not good news to face a doctor in the middle of the night like this," I replied as I sat down on the chair lying in front of her desk.

"..." My blunt words seemed to surprise Doctor Portia.

The light of the lantern shining inside the room made Doctor Portia stare at me with her sharp pupils.

"You look different than usual, is this the effect of your lost memory?" asked Doctor Portia while looking at me with a sharp gaze.

"What should I do with my fading memories like this?"

"You should be angry and bang my head on the table for my incompetence in treating the Earl's family to death."

"Why should I do that after they're dead? Can you bring someone back to life after they're dead?"

"..." Doctor Portia's eyes suddenly widened after hearing my words.

"That is beyond my capabilities," with a short answer like that, Doctor Portia immediately handed over a piece of paper containing strange writing.

Just like the language and writing on Earth, I seem to understand what is written in it but do not know what it means, like the medical language on Earth.

"Explain it to me," I said after seeing the writing on the paper addressed to me.

 Craaaakk...

"Can't you read it yourself?" Doctor Portia looked annoyed with me and leaned back in her chair.

"What do you expect from someone who just lost his memory?"

"That's right, you're quite lucky to have a care-doctor like me at a time like this."

While sitting back and looking relaxed in front of me, Doctor Portia immediately explained what had happened to me.

"First of all, you suffered quite a serious injury that caused your memory to disappear. I will make a special report about this and it can be used for something urgent. You are quite lucky with this one, all the crimes you committed in the past will be gone after the special report I made for you is published," said Doctor Portia with a look in her eyes that wanted to see my reaction to this.

"Hmm... interesting. I'm so relieved that my crimes in the past can be gone in an instant like this."

"Y-You don't feel guilty about what you did in the past?"

"Why should I feel guilty for an action I don't remember?"

"You are a disgusting bastard, you are lucky that you were not too active in committing crimes in the past."

"Why are you talking as if I committed a passive crime?"

"Y-You... Huuftt... it'll be a waste of time after you lose your memory like this. Huft… at least be some people who will try to take revenge on me. Well, whatever happens in the future, please don't come to me to survive stab wounds, cuts, or when you're dying."

"This is the first time I've seen a Doctor turn away a patient. Even when the patient hasn't received any stab wounds, cuts, or is dying," I repeated her words.

I tried to understand every word she said.

As a character who does not affect the main story, I am not a bastard who take the Villain roles. Even to be a Villain in this story, at least my face must be handsome to attract the female Heroine and make them crazy about me.

Doctor Portia's cold and cynical attitude towards me, seems like she was just testing me.

 Scratch...

Doctor Portia suddenly pulled something from her desk.

"I can't believe you lost your memory and seem like a different person than before, Hans."

 Braakkk...

A round object like a crystal was lying on the table.

"A lie reaction that is not detected by the crystal of truth… you lost your memory after receiving a monster attack on some parts of your body? It will be a bullshit if you lying about it," said Doctor Portia as if giving a final question to test me.

"Do you think I'm lying about my memory loss?" I replied calmly.

Doctor Portia glanced at the crystal of truth and got no reaction before throwing it out the window.

 Prranngg!!

"Fuck! I have to bother taking care of a letter of memory loss from a fallen noble!" Doctor Portia shouted, looking annoyed after the results of the test she conducted gave a positive answer.

"Yes, that's your job as a doctor," I replied, smiling like an idiot in front of her.

 Braaakk!!

Doctor Portia immediately stood up and looked for something on the bookshelf not far from her desk. Several piles of scattered papers made her look troubled until her sexy butt looked so beautiful in front of me.

As expected of an NPC with a high popularity rating and an erotic storyline that is not far from drug-induced stimulation, I am very happy about this.

Seeing the smooth butt of a beautiful NPC in front of my eyes, I got lucky in this regard.

Doctor Portia took a typewriter that looked quite compact in front of me.

"Please don't talk to me before I finish typing your current condition," she said, looking annoyed to me.

 Tik...

 Tookk...

 Tiikkk...

 Tookk...

Doctor Portia looked like a madwoman who was typing something quickly. The movement of her fingers that looked equal to the beauty of her face that was serious about something. The typing movement that she did made me gasp for a moment to witness the beauty of her face which was covered in sweat.

 Twiittcchh...

 Twittcchh...

At times like this, I actually smell the sweat of an adult woman who is typing something in front of me. The sound of her fingers typing something makes me almost take off my pants and enjoy the view in front of me with a touch that makes me feel happy.

Before that happened, Doctor Portia quickly finished typing with her fingers and put down the paper containing her typed writing.

 Braakkk!!

The expression on her face which was still annoyed with me looked beautiful after being covered in stress.

"I have written down your current health condition. The report about your condition has also been written in detail. All you have to do now is pay for the service I have done!" said Doctor Portia with a serious expression on her face in this matter.

 "Eh? I have to pay?"

"You think I do this for free?"

 "How much does it cost?"

I didn't know that this NPC had another calculating side in healthcare. Even though she will become a great Doctor in the future, it doesn't make her far from her greedy attitude toward money.

"The cost is quite cheap, you just need to survive as one of my guinea pigs," she said in a calm tone.

"Is that all?" I replied, tilting my head.

"Yes, that's all. I want to see the effects of the monster poison that is currently attacking your magic core. I want to see how you will be dying and will lose your ability to use magic in the future," said Doctor Portia with a smile at me.

I understand those words well and think calm about it.

"Okay, I agree to this payment!" I said, standing up from my chair.

"I just need to live to pay for the treatment you gave me, right?" I continued before Doctor Portia changed her mind.

I immediately left Doctor Portia's office with a relieved heart, without her knowing, I already had a plan to get out of such a sad future.

 Living without using magic?

I don't think that will happen once I know how to get the antidote.
